  1. I follow RBS Football probably as close as any non-fan in the state. I've never played against them and don't live in the area but I check their score FIRST every Friday night and then check to see who they are playing NEXT. And this has to be the funniest thread I've ever seen on CoachT - a RBS fan talking smac! /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> Go RBS!!
  2. Anybody for Goodpasture - Lipscomb game....the biggest game of the seasont that counts for nothing but pride.
  3. OK...been watching this one for years now. And eventually Marshall Co will beat Lipsomb again, this could be the year. But what I have seen is simple. VERY SIMPLE. Every year, EVERY YEAR Marshall Co has better atheletes, more skill, more size, more speed than Lipscomb. BUT every year coaching, conditioning and discipline outmans raw talent. It's a good rivalry (with some very unusual twist - like the clock mysteries at MC) but Lipscomb will probably win again this year. Print it!
  4. Congratulations Alcoa. When Lipscomb beat you bad back in '03 (55-6) we knew then we would be seeing great things out of that squad. So many of those guys were Freshmen and Sophomores. Wow, it's been a few great years for you all. You've not lost a playoff game since that night!!! In three years. Wow. Congratulations too, to Goodpasture on a great season.
  5. I really don't think it will affect anything. To many variables. The L v G game was week zero...a week that Lipscomb never plays and when they play in week one they almost always lose. There are insider reasons for that, but we won't got there. And as far as Alcoa v KF. Similar, two gaints sparring. BTW it's been a good game so far...I think tomorrow's will be too. Hey clueless...wrong...it is tomorrow at noon. Haven't you heard?
  6. I love it! Great trivia question!!!!! Then the next would be Who is Lipscomb's # 1 fan? And one more...what "players" name has been called out over the PA more than any other person who never put on a uni? And just for the fun of it...Who always wants the consessioner to offer Hawian ribeyes? Have fun lipscombball3r
  7. Facts are facts - all the junk about Privates vs Publics is just not correct. Here are the schools that the last 15 years across the board champions: Most Team State Championships 9 Dobyns Bennett 1945, 1947, 1948, 1949, 1954, 1955, 1956, 1959, 1960 7 Oak Ridge 1956, 1958, 1962, 1975, 1979, 1980, 1991 9 Maryville 1970, 1976, 1978, 1998, 2000, 2001, 2002 6 Chattanooga Central 1946, 1951, 1953, 1954, 1957, 1965 7 Alcoa 1977, 1978, 1979, 1989, 2000 6 Trousdale County 1977, 1990, 1993, 1997, 1998 4 Marion County 1990, 1992, 1994, 1995 4 Milan 1971, 1977, 1998, 1999 So, perhaps the TSSAA should do something like providing something to help level the playing field to help the poor private schools. Hmm, interesting? Why should the privates be punished while the big state funded machines get alll the titles? Funny how it sounds when the facts are stated....
  8. BULLDOG - I'm sorry for your sad life. You, sir, appear to be a jerk. Yeah, it's all those private schools. Do your homework idioit: Private –vss- Public (Private school paretns pay for their facilities and ours)-record across the board the last 15 years…teams who have won championships in non scholarship divisions. Most state championships. Not a single one of them is a private school. Most Team State Championships 9 Dobyns Bennett 1945, 1947, 1948, 1949, 1954, 1955, 1956, 1959, 1960 7 Oak Ridge 1956, 1958, 1962, 1975, 1979, 1980, 1991 7 Maryville 1970, 1976, 1978, 1998, 2000, 2001, 2002 6 Chattanooga Central 1946, 1951, 1953, 1954, 1957, 1965 5 Alcoa 1977, 1978, 1979, 1989, 2000 5 Trousdale County 1977, 1990, 1993, 1997, 1998 4 Marion County 1990, 1992, 1994, 1995 4 Milan 1971, 1977, 1998, 1999 I know you are blind and deaf to facts, but facts are facts! LIpscomb is good because they are well coached and have built over 26 years a system. Teams with coaches who work hard and stay with a program win - again, I reference the above... On the Lipscomb radio crew - they are just some guys, unpaid, parents, who have a great time. They are big time biased and will remain that way. They are fans of a good program and give the toher tems their due, but make no apologies for being for their team. Nw, Bulldog, pleae, loghten up a little, you don't need to have a heart attack so soon. It's a game, have some fun.
  9. No way to call High School football but Lipscomb is a machine. They have averaged putting 30 points in the first half every week since week one. Against Cheatham Co and Creek Wood they put up 41 and 42 respectively in the first half. Against Spring Hill 7 backs scored, 11 ran the ball. The "D" has at times been weak but adjustments appear to have been made this week. Giles Co. has played strong, solid and consistent football. They have beat up on recent opponents. But earlier mutual opponents played them close. All in all, could be a good game. Let's all play in this thread with the same class we expect the teams to show Friday night.
  10. I can't imagine you are wrong on that one. In Middle Tennessee, Lipscomb -v- Goodpasture has produced champions or near champs every year. When the powers that be wanted to big draw and a big game this year - this is the matchup they turned to. Two teams not even in the same classification but still big enough that it was the pick. So, I humbly submit this is one of the biggest games in Middle Tennesse!
  11. "Bayron" As always, your friendly July Door 2 Usher and 5N Server. I actually know what that means!
  12. I know Philip Jenkins dad real well. When I told him about that someone suggested that Philip was recruited he got a real kick out of it. And now he wants his money! He never saw any of it. By the way, why would Lipscomb want a guy who only got on the field when Lipscomb got a 30 point lead. Looks like they need to do a better job! No, you, I and God all know that Lipscomb recruits NO kids. Enough of this private public school junk. If the private schools are so much better how do you explain this? Teams with most state championships in Division 1: Oak Ridge, Maryville, Dobyns-Bennett, Chattanooga Central, Alcoa, Trousdale County, Marion County, Milan. All public schools. 2 2A schools-both public. Hmmmmm....must be the recruiting!?! The multiplier is just punishing recent success.
  13. Does anyone know why Mount Juliet Christian had to forfiet all of their wins (4) last year? The info would be helpful to me.
  14. Only one problem with that CBarclay...in the ten meetings of HoCo and DLHS dating from 1983 to the present Houston Co. has only scored 14 points on the Mustangs once-that was in 184. The combined score of this series is 368-53! OUCH! But Mustang fans are a little nervous after last week. With Wilkerson still out, it might be interesting. The two keys will be 1-can the line protect Elrod and 2-can Rogers pull in the passes he missed last week.
  15. I WOULD LIKE TO THANK ALL MILAN FANS FOR THEIR CLASS AND SUPPORT FOR HUNTINGDON IN THE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME THIS SHOULD SHOW EVERYONE IN MIDDLE AND EAST TN. OF WHAT KIND OF GAMESMENSHIP THAT THESE TWO COMMUNITIES HAVE FOR EACH OTHER ALSO I MUST SAY TO ALL DL FANS YA'LL HAVE ALREADY MISSED THE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME IT WAS PLAYED LAST WEEK HUNTINGDON 34 MILAN 29 , BUT I GUESS WE HAVE TO GIVE DL A CHANCE TO TRY TO DEFEND THEIR TITLE. OH YEA JUST REMEMBER DL FANS I THINK WE HAVE BEAT YA'LL THE LAST 2 TIMES WE'VE PLAYED. ALWAYS NEXT YEAR DL. GO H-TOWN STANGS Very cute of you to criticize others when you yourself don't know what you are talking about. I oculd be wrong but I'm pretty sure, Huntingdon has not beat Lipscomb the last two times they played. Check your facts. H'don beat Lipscomb in 96, 21-7. But Lipscomb beat H'don in 94 7-0. Before you SHOUT and are classless check your facts.
  16. Well Turbo, you've now proven yourself for what you are. Anyone who believes themself to never be wrong is both and idiot and delusional. And on the scrimage. One would have to have a true inside view to understand anything about how Coach Mac does scrimages and the purpose behind them. It's pretty complicated, but he actually wants his team to not do too well. Good luck. I'm imagining that it's gonna be a good game, but I'd rather see a blowout. I'm a DL fan, all the way, but looking over H's impressive wins, it might be tight...and from both sides, it looks like it will be very highscoring. I guess this is why we have playoffs, West gets to match Middle and decide it all on the field. But all you Huntindon fans who are talking big, don't come drying private/pubilc blooney AFTER the game. When you claim such greatness, you forfiet your right to that excuse. Wish you all a safe trip to Middle Tennessee.
  17. Most are going to an artificial grass. Like on the practice field at Vandy.
  18. If it's the press that DL has gotten that kept your back from getting nominated and it's that same press how come a fellow who is in middle TN, has been a three year starter, is second in the mid-state in scoring, won a state championships last year, is playing in the game again this year and has had back to back 1000 yard seasons (Cutler Roberston) didn't win the Mr. Football, but someone from West Tennessee who hasn't "gotten all that cover" and supposedly would not be known won it? Rod Smith...
  19. Surely somebody has to recognize Austin Rogers from Lipscomb. With one ring on his finger and another one coming, 4.4. speed, 12 int's this year and 22 TD receptions. And just a junior! Also if Lipscomb can win this year and another one in '04 would anyone give little D. Elrod a look?
