  1. I wasn't able to be in the stands, who played well for Coffee tonight??
  2. No the Hall of Fame games do not count against your overall record, you can choose to count them but you dont have to Coffee did not count its win over moore county either Bradley was not a hall of fame game, there was no admission charged it was like a scrimmage. The Manchester paper came out as them having a 3-1 record.
  3. I think the gate fees are rediculous, you take a person with two kids and they have already spent 20 dollars before they ever sit down...
  4. the bradley game didn't count for regular season they are 3-1 right now for regular season, and that's all that counts in my opinion
  5. I say Coffee by about 20, as long as Grose keeps her game up and as long as the other two good juniors do too, AND as long as the point guard plays good defense as she has been.
  6. I agree that without having to sweat and cry and all that good stuff that you can't fully appreciate the game, but there is also a difference between dicipline and just being too serious. I'm sure alot of his players appreciate him, but be assured that there are some who don't.
  7. But my point is when the players and coaches realize it's a game and take it seriously when need be and don't treat it like it's the end of the world the teams will do just as well.
  8. Well I haven't seen either team play so.. I guess the people that did the district rankings as follows should rethink it a little... Shelbyville Lawrence County Columbia Franklin County Coffee County Tullahoma Lincoln County My thoughts on 8AAA are Shelbyville(possible upset) Coffee County/Lawrence County/Columbia (will be a 2nd place battle) then all the rest It's too early in the season to be writing anything in stone, district play is about to start up good though and then people will start making their decisions about who they think can do what.
  9. That's not the point, it's supposed to be a game, and it's supposed to be fun, granted it can't always be a joke, but it can't always be like the NCAA final four either.. don't ask any of the state champ teams if they feel like dogs, ask them if they had fun.. I have had several players that have played Div. 1 college ball say that they got to the college they were at by treating basketball like a game and once they got to college it wasn't a game anymore and they were burnt out on it. I am not one of the idiots that thinks you should smile during every minute of every ballgame, but I do beleive when you get right down to it for the most part it should be fun.
  10. Oh, from what I've seen they definately could be... But like I said once before, they haven't been using all of their guns properly, maybe they will start to.
  11. What's Columbia's big strength this year? Is their guard play better or thier Post play? And how did they keep Lawrence county's scorers quiet?
  12. Wow Cannon County must have been underestimated once again.
  13. How did the game go between Coffee and Cannon, who played well and how did both teams look??

    siegel

Don't look for Siegel to go many places, give them a couple of years and let them build up their armory and they could turn into a good program. As it is a new school I don't beleive they have many upperclassmen at all, but they didn't look half bad when I saw them play, but lack of experience can kill a team...
  15. They will be decent this year, they have always had solid ball teams, they just never convert those big chances, like alst year when they lost to Livingston by 1, things like that, but you never know when they might turn the corner and be a threat, they have a couple of key players in their seniors, and they also have a couple of good players that come off the bench sometimes, I don't know their names but several of the juniors are very talented. Cannon County is always a sleeper, you never know what to expect from them, but they do have great coach in Tara James, that I do know, she runs a very tight and professional type of program. She is a very concerned and involved coach. Good Luck to the Lionettes and their season endeavors.
  16. I doubt very highly that they go very long without losing, they have showed some signs of brilliance but they have also showed some weaknesses. You can never tell this early.
  17. Definately, they are great ball players, last night I would say they equaled more than 60 % of Riverdale's scoring.
  18. I'm not sure I have keyed in on Coffee's strategy yet, maybe it's hard to do as a spectator, the players may fully realize his strategy, but I know that he has some guns that he is not using near as much as he could, he has some decent outside shooters that never shoot the three, and he also has a post player that he is not utalizing, I'm not sure of her name, but she is a junior and all she needs is a little bit of live game situation to help her out offensively, defensively she's fine. I saw that the wing players were looking for the penetration more so than the three which is good, but I also saw a couple of times where the wings drove into traffic instead of shooting the three. Ofcourse this is what comes in a package with inexperience, hopefully they will learn to kick the ball out now and then, and hopefully the coach will realize the caliber of players he is working with, in my opinion they are right on the edge of being a great team, it's just a few things that they are not doing that they could be. In general I was not at all disappointed in Coffee's performance however. Keep Plugging girls you'll get there!
  19. Coffee lost but the final deficit was only about 9 points, I didn't hear exactly what the score was.
  20. very well said, people who know nothing about a team will look at the box scores on wednesday and saturday mornings and say so and so is a good player, and it's usually because they scored the most points, but box scores to not present a list of steals, assists or rebounds, neither do they present a list of turnovers per player, every now and then you will find that the players that do not average but around 10 or 12 points per game are either young, or they TAKE CARE OF THE BALL, that can be as instrumental as scoring alot of points, the team that can take care of the ball usually wins. On the money NUMBERONE
