  1. The "caliber" you speak of isn't that much different. Giles went 9-0 last year... barely beat Nolensville and then never played Page due to COVID. This year they are probably going to go 8-2... barely lose to Nolensville (a 4th down away from a win) and then lost to Page. Not sure how we can deduce "caliber" based off of almost the exact same results. They're right on track for another deep playoff run.
  2. MP leads 24-21. MP ball on the raider 1.
  3. 24-21 Workman 3rd rushing TD. Start of the 4th.
  4. FACS was pretty meh. A competent team with a decent QB. Richland walloped Cascade though although Cascade turned the ball over quit a bit and couldn’t snap the ball confidently to the QB. I think richland is much better at the skill positions and this is the first richland team in a while where many of the best athletes in the school are playing although there are still many of the best athletes not playing yet.
  5. Richland has played to win this season and not to just not lose. 34-18 is my prediction.
  6. I mean it was 41-14 before the starters were pulled. When should you get underclassmen in the game if you aren’t in a non-region blowout?
  7. Richland not even receiving votes is kind of a joke, but obviously this poll doesn't impact anything. If they can knock off Mt. Pleasant next week, look out.
  8. Will be somewhat refreshing to see Giles County actually have an advantage in the kicking game versus Page this year. Cimaglia was a terror for all those years.
  9. Big game between two old rivals Friday night. Page is a 5A juggernaut. Giles was a 4th down stop away from being 5-0. Both teams were 5-0 last year before "COVID" canceled the game. Discuss.
  10. Good win for the Raiders over a quality opponent on the road. Cascade struggled with the Raiders pass rush and really struggled with snapping issues. Raiders go on a long road trip next week before hosting Mt Pleasant in what will be the biggest game at Richland in a very long time.
  11. Who cares? Games get decided by region standings and on the field anyway.
  12. I was at this game. Special teams was indeed huge for Giles County. Tough coaching by Franklin County at the end of the second quarter, too. Should have told the quarterback to take a sack or kneel instead of letting him run out of bounds and give Giles a chance to try that long field goal. 47-yard kick as time expired was massive for GCHS and gave them the confidence and momentum for the second half. Was an ugly game by both teams, but was entertaining nonetheless.
  13. This is a fun one, too, considering that FCHS was THISCLOSE to hiring O'Connor and Don Thomas a few years ago as head coach and top assistant.
  14. Franklin County is favored by about a touchdown. Giles County's defense is gaining confidence each and every week. Their offense has a sudden new wrinkle with the two-quarterback look. Who do you gameplan for to get the snaps? This will be a fun ballgame between a really good 3A team and a really good 5A team. Worth the trip over to Winchester to see FCHS fancy school and sweet stadium. Rubber meets the road this Friday.
  15. Tough loss for the Bobcats last Friday. Neither team played to the best of their abilities. Mainly because the defenses both showed out. Game this Friday should be A LOT easier for GCHS, with all due respect to Grundy County.
  16. Yeah, but Giles County *scheduled* those games. TSSAA made the region. And don't forget the 2.5 hour drive to Sequatchie County.
  17. Two Quick Things: -Lincoln County is MUCH improved from last season, but they still have a very tough schedule and region. Wishing Coach Cunningham and that squad all the best. -Giles County has the makings of another strong team, but they will have to play MUCH better on both sides of the ball if they are to beat Nolensville on the road. Too many penalties last week and it nearly cost them. BONUS: I enjoyed listening to wneely and his broadcast partner Mr. Bledsoe on their first broadcast with Pulaski Citizen Live. I have always enjoyed listening them on local radio all those years, but it's truly hard to even follow along with the action with the new WKSR announcers.
  18. Was waiting on the excuses and here they are!
