  1. Congratulations on this award. The National Wrestling Hall of Fame decides on this award recipient and only one wrestler is chosen in each state. Regional winners are chosen from the state winners and one National winner is chosen from there.
  2. District 9 is crazy. Looks like Hendersonville is best and Portland is on the other end. 2-7 depends on what day it is. SC beat Mt J and WC (Portland did not beat SC as posted earlier). Lebanon has three wins. Tiebreaker is head to head, goal differiential, and then goals allowed (?)-maximums on the last two.
  3. The JV tournament is going to be the weekend of Aug 24. Brentwood, Beech, Clarksville and Fairview have expressed interest. Join the fun.
  4. Owl-Tracker is right. It's a tie.
  5. Beech (located in Hendersonville) will host a early season JV tournament in late Aug (17 or 24). The tournament seeks to provide competitive matches for less experienced players. If your team fits this description please contact me for more information. Teams will likely get three games, awards to top two, entry fee just enough to cover referee expenses. P. A. 6. Great article B. B., thanks! Also wanted to let everyone know we will have a golf scramble at Brown Acre. Tee time is 10 am, Fri, Mar 2. Contact Danny Gilbert or P. A. Bowler if you are interested. A banquet social will begin at 5:30 at the Doubletree and dinner at 7:00 pm. The venue is a little smaller than past years so reserve your tickets soon before we run out of space. Contact P. A. Bowler for dinner reservations, bowler94@comcast.net, or 109 Mansker Park Dr, Hendersonville, TN 37075.
  7. Beech is hosting MUS on Sat, Mar 24. Is anyone interested in hosting MUS on Sun? Please email me with/for details, bowler94@comcast.net
  8. Clarksville showed some class in the 113 match, which was closely contested. With Clarksville leading 5-2, the fine referees forgot to signal a Beech takedown and went straight to counting nearfall. When the dust settled and time ran out the referee awarded two nearfall and raised the Clarksville kids hand as the scoreboard read 5-4. Both Clarksville coaches came to the table to make sure the Beech kid got the win.
  9. The Beech/Dickson match was very exciting. Match started at 152. Dickson jumped out to a huge lead 32-0(?). Beech started coming back but not until HWT (forfeit). Beech won a close one at 106. Both teams moved some kids around. It worked a little better for Beech as Jacob Bolton won a close match at 132. Dickson forfeited 138 and had a four point lead going into the last match, which Beech won by fall in the second. There were some great duals too at the lower weights, especially 126. Exciting match. Clarksville was winning the nightcap pretty big. Didn't stay to the end.
  10. Beech is looking for some more JV games this fall. Please contact me at bowler94@comcast.net if you are interested.
  11. Confirmed. Danny Martinez sliced thru defense most of the night. Overton played strong defense and didn't give HHS many opportunities.
  12. Here are Eurosportscoreboard standings: Hendersonville High School (9-2-1) 3 0 0 Station Camp High School (9-4-0) 3 1 0 Gallatin High School (4-8-1) 3 2 0 Wilson Central (5-4-1) 3 3 0 Mt. Juliet High School (4-1-5) 2 0 1 Beech Senior HS (9-3-2) 1 1 1 Portland High School (4-8-1) 1 5 1 Lebanon High School (2-5-1) 0 4 1
  13. East Hamilton looks like more than a dark horse.
  14. What's happening in 9AAA? Looks like most everyone held the majority of the district schedule til the end. Does Hendersonville have it wrapped up yet? Everyone else playing for second? Who is in that hunt?
  15. Heard Hendersonville beat Beech in slobberknocker 2-0 and Gutzman got knocked out of the game. Any word on him?
  16. Beech 4 Ooltewah 0 Beech 3 East Hamilton 0 Beech 2 Cleveland 1 Beech wins Cleveland Classic this weekend
  17. Beech 3 Hunters Lane 0 Beech 3 Clarksville 1
  18. Have Farragut and Hendersonville both already lost this preseason?
  19. garnerc, you need to actually make the training sessions before you talk about what we did or did not do in them.
  20. The tournament is on as scheduled. All wrestlers will receive an extra pound due to some schools not being allowed to practice today. As of this morning there are 270 freshmen registered, which may be a record for our tournament. We know some will not be able to participate but are looking forward to ones that are.
  21. With all due respect to Knoxville and Brentwood, the real District of Death was and still is District 9. Top to bottom no one is close, partly because District 9 is eight teams deep. Last season the #8 seed, Lebanon beat a state qualifer late in the season from Murfreesboro. The #7 seed, Beech, beat DII state qualifer and AAA section finalist, and tied district champ Station Camp, and the #6 seed, Portland beat the state champs. And that's the bottom. Most of this district will be better than last year.
  22. If Coach Newman would have been at school on Tue he would have received the shoes he requested from the local referee's association. Since he wasn't he will have to wait until Monday to receive them.
  23. How was the turn out for the clinic? and social? Hope it went well.
