  1. Darian Brown is as good a coach as there is. He has turned the program around. The girls outplayed Central tonight and one could argue they should have won the game, but they just could not buy a shot. AND, Coach Brown was doing it with Lebanon players. At almost any point in the game, Central had 3 Lebanon zoned players and 2 Mt. Juliet zoned players on the floor. For you to talk of negativity and bad schemes reeks of a favorite CoachT poster of mine, the idiotic 'RuppsRunts'. Wait just a second. You pass judgement on a coach that you haven't even seen? This is absolutely absurd. You base your thoughts on "friends that have players on the team?" Talk about shallow. Get off the basketball board. Find something to do that you have a clue about.
  2. Lebanon comes from 17 down in the 2nd half to beat Central 43-42 on a 3 point shot at the buzzer by Ryan Beadle. Was this an upset?
  3. I teach and coach at a small middle school and the desire is still there. Also there is baseball, softball, volleyball, soccer, football, basketball, golf, and cheerleading (not to mention drama, choir, band, etc., etc., etc.) Kids have more choices today than ever before. They are being pulled in every direction imaginable. I don't see any difference in the desire of kids today than I did 20 years ago. I just don't see as many kids.
  4. It looks like your high school coach has bigger problems than his middle school. He better come up with a better excuse to be a loser than the one he is evidently feeding the community. GEEEZZZ!
  5. I thought teaching fundamentals was getting ready for the season
  6. I am a fan of neither Siegel or Oakland but I am a long time follower and supporter of 7AAA basketball. I can think of at least two reasons people outside of the 'siegel Nation' have a problem with Tyler Cutter. 1) His whining on the floor. What some (Siegel fans) see as competitive and feisty is seen as selfish and immature by others. I certainly understand how supporters and opponents view behavior in two drastically different points of view. AND, I also know that Siegel people will blow off my comments as partisan. But they are not. I watch countless basketball games every year and I really can't remember any player leaving such a sour taste in my mouth as Tyler Cutter. He actually sickens me. It also sickens me to think that Coach Harris has such amazingly low standards of game decorum (as evidenced in years past by Oden and company). 2) The adulation heaped on Cutter by Siegel posters. For someone without any knowledge of middle Tennessee basketball, reading CoachT would lead them to believe that Cutter is ready to make the jump to the NBA. He is, in my UNBIASED opinion, a solid player. On any other team in the district, he would be no more, or less, than a role player. All posters tend to be a little overzealous in the opinions of their own teams. It just seems that Siegelists take it to a new level.
  7. I must assume that is sarcasm since that is your name. How about just a little respect for Lebanon. As far as the district goes, the dust HAS settled for Oakland, and they are nowhere to be seen. I guess when they get beat in the regions, it will be, "When the dust settles in the state", or something similar. Give 'em credit. They won, you lost.
  8. White Co. players were playing very rough and bordered on dirty. The guy I was with and I both commented on that fact. I believe they were called for at least 1 and maybe 2 flagrants. That is a totally different scenario that punching someone in the back of the head.
  9. What the tape shows or doesn't show is irrelevant. As 'The Truth' stated, the camera was opposite the punch, therefore it may or may not show it. I hate to repeat myself, but I say again, "I SAW IT". He punched the guy in the back of the head. For another ref to say what you quoted him as saying is an irresponsible statement by a referee. I have trouble believing that was said. Maybe the other ref didn't see it. The one standing 5 feet away from the incident saw it and made the correct call. Stop idolizing this guy and realize he has a problem. You guys are just enabling him. Defending him encourages this behavior.
  10. I'm impartial. I saw it, he did it, he got what he deserved. End of story.
  11. I'm not sure what you're saying. The punch came after the layup attempt. It was not, as you say, "a shooting motion", that got Oden ejected. It was a punch to the back of the head. The layup and the punch were two different incidents. Don't describe what you did not see. And to further clarify your post, the difference in what Oden did and what "EVERY SINGLE PLAYER in this district has done many times over when they get a hard foul", is that the Oden punched the White Co. player and others do not. Please, Hooligan. I try to view you as objective and fair. This disappoints me.
  12. I was there myself and he did throw a punch. After the hard foul by the White Co. player, both players were under the goal behind the baseline. The White Co. player was bent over with his back to Oden and Oden, definitely and without doubt, hit the White Co. player in the back of the head. I immediately turned to the guy sitting with me and asked if he saw it. He said, "yeah, he hit him." He hit him, he got what he deserved. His bullying antics and trash talking have caught up with him. I see why Siegel fans defend him. I'm sure he is a personable guy off the floor, but don't defend this. He was wrong. Whether the tape is inconclusive or not is beside the fact as far as I'm concerned. He hit him. For anyone to say different means you didn't see it or your just seeing what you want to see.
  13. It's not my 'DUTY' to do anything. And these forums are to discuss issues. This is certainly an issue. I am certain that the LHS administration is well aware of the dealing of the coaching staff of Wilson Central, as I am sure the the administration of WCHS is also aware. You, like so many, obviously are so blinded by winning that you cannot believe what you are hearing. That is fine. I am not trying to convince you. I don't give a flip what you believe. I am just stating well-known facts.
  14. Of course your proud. You, however, don't see the 'means' that justify the end. You just see the end. People that post about the dealings of the coaching staff of Wilson Central know what they are talking about. Nobody, I repeat, nobody is jealous of Wilson Central. If anything, they feel sorry for what is being done to that fine school. There are a lot of people involved in the recruiting of these young girls. A LOT of people. But, the coaching staff has consistently broken rule after rule in their quest for a few wins. They have their wins. My question is this. Is it worth it? Is it worth the broken hearts of the girls on the team who do not get to play because the Coaching staff went out and brought in 'better' players? Not to me, it's not. ..............but, Hassell was RECRUITED while living in the LEBANON zone. As said earlier, she was recruited while PRACTICING with Lebanon. Go ahead and be proud. Just don't lift you head out of the sand. You might be disappointed.
  15. Rules were definitely broken. Coached recruited those girls just as surely as Phillip Fulmer recruited Peyton Manning. That is a fact.
  16. How about inviting the kids into your locker room after the game? You are saying that this is not recruiting? This is a direct violation of TSSAA rules. Bud CALLED Hassell on a Sunday morning and asked her to attend a summer camp game with them that afternoon. SHE HAD BEEN PRACTICING WITH LEBANON ALL WEEK!!!! Are you listening? How can you defend this? Go ahead. I can't wait.
  17. Yeah, Emily Jacobs is the girl from Lebanon. A great player and just a junior!
  18. Man, it's cool to see jr. high girls being recognized. Your right, our girls are fantastic. Shay and Felica can't be stopped. Cynthia and Sarah are having great years, as is Kristina. Good luck girls. I was at the Southside game, too, and it now looks like it is our turn to run some wins on Southside. Our time has come!
  19. Lebanon has a nice team but the problem is that they are not very physical. They are more of a finesse team. That might work in 7AAA but it will not wash in District 9. I am picking Central to return to the state. With Thomas and Calhoun, they have a dominant inside game, while Perry, Majors and Reimoning give them outstanding perimeter play. Their bench is deep and talented. Central has a big game with Cleveland coming up Saturday. I think Lebanon's only chance is if Central is overlooking them. I see Central by 20.
  20. How did Monterey and Smith Co. scrimmage turn out. Did anyone look good?
  21. I think they should be pretty good. They have the big Piper kid (6'3") in the middle. I look for them to be in the thick of the District 7AA race.
  22. Yeah, well...if I was as tall as Shaq I could dunk on anyone. Or if I was as good a hitter as Keith Bullock, I would be playing for the Titans. Or if a frog had wings, he wouldn't whomp his a** everytime he jumped. What a stupid comment.
  23. ....and how would Coach Wooden have done without Alcindor and Walton? Or Auerbach without Russell? Or maybe Lombardi without Starr? Or how about Torre without Jeter, Clemmons and Bernie? Or how about....... In other words, that is not a valid point. You go with what you've got and do the best you can. If you have good players (Cotten, Harrell, etc....) you should be competitive. He was. If you have lean years in respect to talent, you play your guts out and win on desire and hustle. He did.
  24. What's wrong with you people. Dougball put McMinnville on the map. And what a sharp dresser!
