  1. McEwen people.... Where did the Puckett boy go to Middle school? There was a kid by that name at one of the private schools in Nashville but I thought he went to military school somewhere. I remember him being a decent ball player.
  2. Big Hurt, you forgot to mention that he is a fierce competitor with an insanely large mouth that always seems to be running.
  3. EzellSoftball04...that's a compliment to Toni coming from another hoover on the 3 bag!

Ditto s3softball...Goodpasture got them in the choo choo.
  5. Anyone can answer this, I just knew ES04 would know!

I am going to go with Beech and Goodpasture. Goodpasture with the win, just because I like Goodpasture and they can play. Owensboro Catholic might surprise one of those two but I don't see anyone else challenging unless one of those three has a bad game, which we all know is very possible. But my pick, Goodpasture. Either way, it should be a great weekend of softball. How 'bout EzellSoftball04 giving herself props for going to the drug store?...

Why wouldn't she be able to go the distance this year? She did it last year, part of the season throwing on a fractured leg. This year she is getting help from two other pitchers on certain days, one who saw substantial throwing time last year when Danielle went on the disabled list. So, she should be more rested this year than last year. If I were a good guesser, and most of the time I am not, I'd say she would pitch until her arm fell off, and then start throwing with her other arm.

Sportnut, my guess is because she is from Ezell. They are rivals on any surface they compete on. Safe to say everyone has rivals. Ezellsoftball04, are you saying the group from last year has not improved, or are you saying the gap at second and behind the plate will not be filled by the same level of talent that played in those positions last year? I think the lady on the mound for Goodpasture as well as her back-up might take offense to you saying they aren't any better, but I am assuming they will still like you as a person after the games are over. By the way, Hutchison's canons have only gotten bigger! They're almost as big as yours! Also, who is filling your vacancies left by your grads and the transfer to Goodpasture?
  9. I'm not from Summertown, but I can tell you what I saw. A lot of quickness and a lot of guts. Very sound team Saturday, well-coached. Didn't see much depth either...could've been the match-ups though.
  10. I don't have a comment about home cooking, because the game I was at, both teams got some questionable calls. I did want to comment on the behavior of the Summertown fans. I have never seen a student section behave in such a positive manner. The kids yelled for their players and only "annoyed" the Goodpasture girls by yelling or clapping for their girls. The other fans (adults) were very supportive of their girls and many of them commented on our players' sportmanship and conduct after the game. Other than the usual chanting of the "goodbye" song, which is normal and not meant to demean like many other cheers nowadays, they were very good fans of the game...not just their team but of the game of basketball. They did NOT spit or curse at the Goodpasture girls. Disgusting that anyone would feel the need to do that to another human, much less a teenager only because they chose to play some basketball. It was a good game, and many might disagree but I think the game was actually decided by the players. Congratulations to both teams for a great game.
  11. Gov, I totally agree with DCA no longer being a doormat. Seems with a lot of hardwork and a little luck both of these teams have risen to the top. I remember when DCA was the doormat about 10 years ago to just about any team they played, and I remember two years ago when Goodpasture was the district doormat right after the doormat's doormat, Lighthouse Christian. Both of these squads have exerted tremendous effort to be where they are now, not just by being in tonight's game, but to be experiencing the success they are experiencing right now in their programs. I know tonight's game will be a great game. However, I think I am speaking for a multitude by saying that neutral court is great, but playing an hour and a half away from home to determine who gets to play at home is a little crazy. Fair in the whole scheme of things, but crazy! Good luck, I'm rooting for the felines in blue and gold! Haha!
  12. Hey NCS03, stop bickering for a second ( , just a joke, don't get mad) and let me know the score of the GP/FRA game! I have a feeling you know, you seem to know a lot about the region games, boys and girls. I just want to know the score...then you can continue talking about your boy Anderson. By the way, are you a student? Reading the times of your posts makes me think you are independently educating yourself! (Another joke! )
  13. bigchief, you seem to have the inside scoop on GP athletics...how did the boys do against FRA?
  14. Morgan's game was a little off last night. According to other posts, Bodiford played well. I agree, those two may very well make the difference in the game. However, watch out for the sleepers that do the dirty work in the shadows! (Hutchison and Winfree!) These two teams during the regular season and tournament have been well-worth the cost of admission. Should be a good game!
  15. Not trying to start an argument or be smart, and although I don't know Mr. Carter or Mr. McGrady, or their parents for that matter, it is possible to have two cousins that aren't siblings. If it's not, then someone needs to inform my cousins that even though they have different sets of parents, they are indeed siblings. I'm writing this post to keep my one dot!
