Haven't seen anyone as good as either. That Perry County team was the best Class A team ever and one of the best ever in Tennessee regardless of class.

Well of all the powers in Rutherford County, Blackman has the least transfers by far and actually plays by the rules which is something in what is basically the "wild,wild west" of high school girls basketball. Anyone notice that all of this has started in Rutherford County since the arrival of the Insell entourage at MTSU. There may be no coincidence at all but boy sure seems tied together.

Did Naismith grow up in Fentress, Jackson, or Pickett County? I truly forgot.

Houston will make it a game, could be very interesting. Houston is big and athletic. But weak schedule til they played Moore County, MTCS, and Community

Better not count Community and Houston County out of the mix, they are big, athletic, and can defend.talent wise they are as good as anyone, including Clarkrange.

In my humble opinion( and that is what it is) the tournament is the issue. In NO way should any team be able to lose 3 games but be able to make the State tournament!!!! Last year a girls team made the State with 3 losses then lost a game in the State for their 4th tourney loss. Should never be allowed. If you lose you should be OUT. If you think about it, if each tourney game was an elimination game, the interest level rises with the importance of each game, therefore they probably make more money in the long run. Also, to those who say you have to give chances to districts who have 2 strong teams, example Jackson County vs Clay a few years ago, they played 5 times, Jackson won decisevly in 4 games and was clearly the better team. But one niight Clay plays the game of their life and beats them in the so called State Championship and they are crowned Champs. The tourney needs to be changed!!!!

And you are correct the coach of the great 1997 team was from Sparta, but their relevance of late was the 2012 State Runner up team and the 2012 State Final 4 team but that is ancient history. Your making fun of the greatest tradition in Tennessee high school basketball history,the Perry County Boys! With great coaches who did it with HOMEGROWN talent unlike Clarkrange, Jackson County etc, who rely on few transfers to maintain their programs, you sir are delusional!

I don't get to 7-a every night but I have seen Clarkrange, Pickett, and Jackson this year a couple of times. I also have seen MTCS, Community, and Forrest. We all know in a one game situation anything can happen. But top to bottom District is better as far as quality of teams. Because Moore County, Eagleville, and Huntland are just better than Monterey andClay County in the bottom half of the district.

Best big man in state, I have seen, Kirk Haston of Perry County. Future All America at Indiana and 1st round pick of the Hornets.

They didnt look great, but they played 2 very good teams in MLK and Elizabethton. They lost by 15 to MLK and 20 to Elizabethton. Both teams are championship calibur AA teams.

Where did coach Heard go?

Having watched this district for a while this is how I would rate these players 1) Pierce, 2) Wilkerson, 3) Buckner, 4) Yost , 5) Golden, 6) Hawkins, 7) Mann . But this is just opinion. Yost and Pierce have the best supporting cast right now. Pierce and Wilkerson are sophs, Golden, Yost, and Buckner are Fr and Mann and Hawkins are 8th graders.

Sloan Mann and Kursten Hawkins at Moore County. Both started on varsity this year and averaged 15 ppg respectively. They also started 3 others in several games. That is unheard of to start 5 eighth graders on HS level.
