Whoa this is going to be an awesome game. I can't wait to watch it. The anticipation is already killing me. I can only imagine what each player on these two teams are feeling. You know who I'm gonna pick, LA. But I am not going to say by how much. This game will be close throughout its entirety. I have pulled for LA's girls all season long. Not gonna let them down now. Second chance opportunities and turnovers will be the key to this game for either team. Eliminate these, or at least cut them down to a very small number and you have a great chance to win. LA won the district in the regular season, I see no reason why they are not gonna win the DISTRICT TOURNAMENT. Go HOG-EYE. Get used to it...

Go ahead and bring up past games if you must but LA will win I think and if I had to say by how many then i will say by 11. Stover will have a big game as will Ramsey and Dunn. Macon's student section is pathetic. I was at the LA game at Macon and they didn't seem to have much to cheer for. LA's students were louder than Macon's ever thought about being. This is the most off-topic thread I have read on this site in a while. Some idiot is talking about hair, two people were arguing about 2 totally different schools that don't even have anything to do with this freshman, and then other people are talking about Vandy and UT. The whole point of this topic was to congratulate this young freshman on her achievements this year. I have watched both West and Ferris this season. Both are well deserving of the award but Ferris ended up with it. Nobody on this thread can do anything at all about it. Complaining more is not going to change the results, so you might as well stop. Congratulations to Ferris on the awards. I agree with some that West should have won it. But as I said, nobody's opinion can change the results. The tourneys are now, thats all that matters. Individual awards mean nothing if thats all you ever achieve. We'll see how both girls do come tournament time. So get used to it...

Gut checks are fine....losing a game which you didn't play up to your full potential is definately an eye-opener. There is no team that is unbeatable. You and your team can lose at any given time. That's just a cold hard fact about competitive sports. I am going to pick both LA teams in this tourney though. Both boys and girls games will be close though.

I'm impressed that you know these kind of stats about a freshman. I really hate to agree with King21 but he's right. When you are this size, especially being a girl, these kind of numbers are expected. If you cannot produce these kind of numbers on a regular basis then you are pretty much a waste of space. If you, which from the way it sounds you do, watch her play or have watched her play, all that she really does is go to the low block and wait for the lob pass over everybody else. Now please explain to ME not King21 how hard of a shot it is to do that. There are kids that play in the junior pro league each saturday who hit this shot each game. Are you going to tell me that they are MVP worthy? I think not. For this girl to impress people with more than her size, she's gonna have to come up with some kind of talent besides turning and shooting lay-ups each game. And if you want to bring up rebounds or blocks. Not hard for her there either. All she must do is stick her big paw up in the air and shes almost 7'3. Do you think you could rebound over a 7'3 person? Or shoot over them? Think about all this before you try to throw useless stats at me. Get used to it...

okay, okay, guess I have missed this thread. Ferris is the biggest player in this district. Hands down. She hasn't had much competition if your talking about size. Anybody who is almost a foot taller than the tallest person in the district should be able to, with no problem at all, turn around and shoot over the top of them. Unfortunately, this is all she has had to do all season long. Now for her to be an "exceptional" player in this district she is going to have to do more to impress. Most are blowed away at the sight of her, just because she is almost 7 ft tall. But the people who really know their basketball probably share the same opinion I have put forth. To be awesome, you have to be more than one dimensional. Only time will tell if her height is all she has going for her. But as for now.....Congrats to all the winners of their awards. Especially Ashley Matthews. You got one of the things you wanted out of this year, now go get the other. It's yours to win. Good luck in tourneys.

Their last meeting his ankle wasn't even 100%. If you do follow any basketball at all, he hurt it in the game before. I'll talk about him however i want to, nobody in this district is on the same level as him. And the scary thing is that he is just a sophomore. Imagine what he is going to be like the next two years.
