I totally agree that sub .500 teams shouldn't quailify for the playoffs but the TSSAA seems to be satisfied with it. They absolutely screwed up the process with the redistricting and playoff structure. Maybe they will open their eyes one day and think about the quaility of the product and not just the revenue. Congrats to Coach Nunnley and the team on winning the distict and finishing the regular season on a good note. You did what you needed to do within the structure you were given.

Coach Thompson is a class act. Hopefully he'll call the dogs off before it gets to out of hand.

Congrats to WC. they did the things they had to do to win the contest. By far the worst Cc performance since the home Cumberland Co game in 2005. What is really disturbing is the lack of desire, emotion and intensity on the players part, not to mention the stupid mistakes. The first 2 games are proof they know better and can perform at a much higher level. Effort, emotion and enthusiasm are key ingredients for a sucessful outcome and are controlled entirely by the player himself. No one else can get you emotinally ready and make you reach down inside and give the effort each play and when the game is on the line have what it takes to lay it on the line and do whatever it takes to overcome your opponenet. I call that heart. Other than KJ and a couple of others I haven't seen much lately. After this game if there isn't a few fights in practice this week it's going to be a long season.

Word on the street has Coach Wiggins coming back for a meeting with Mr Casteel. Cant confirm that with any reliable source though. I was very dissapointed to hear Assist. principal Bush was involved with the interviews. After he screwed up the Sundrop deal you would think that the administration would try to hide him somewhere, not display him to the candidates. Way, way to important a hire to screw up. We need the most progressive, positive and competent peolpe we have making this decision. By far the most important hire made in this system in many years, lets take it serious and try do it right.

I have to agree with you DDA, I hope to see him this week and tell him that. Wish him the best back home. I am really concerned about the present administration's ability to conduct a search and find a qualified replacement. Bobby Cummins made the last hire a major priority. Hopefully they will open things up at least state wide and put together a compensation package that will attract a person with a successful past history. This is a great opportunity to take the next step and build on what Coach Price has accomplished.

while i was at oakland hs last nite, i must have seen another game.oakland had a good game plan and executed it. if hobbs see's owens all alone at the 8 its 14-10 cc and the complection of the game changes.cc will win several games this year and prob. quailfy for the playoffs but teams with some speed will give us some trouble. also oakland 's qb is a playmaker and will give most teams they face a problem. congrats to oakland. cc is gonna be just fine.

CC has had some trouble in the past with teams from the boro's team speed. Concerns me again this year. Hope to see a good hard hitting, physical football game with no serious injurys. Oakland will be a tough test. Good luck Raiders!!!!!

I feel your pain. Since the early 80's support for athletics at Coffee Co high school and the middle school has been absolutely pathetic. Administration at the schools and especially the central office seem to care less. Community pride stops at the front door. Good luck Tullahoma.

EXACTLY!!!!! some of the traits that serve Coach Price so well as a coach (disiplined, in your grill,never back down)seem to tick others off. All I know is he's done more for CC than any coach in many many years, and done it the right way. As for the tape issue, its not worth any further discussion, just consider the source. Maybe coach t will wake up and lock this thread!!

This is usually a great region game any year. Since 2002 the record is 2-2.Cc won in 02 &03 Cookeville in 04 & 05. Cookeville had the best team in 02 & 05 CC in 03 &04. Should be a great game again this year, think CC may have a little more talent this time around.

Rumors! What coach Joslin says, you can take to the bank. He's all class. New guy on new camera, should be better films in the future. Dont question Price's integrity or motives, you'll lose.

Those rumurs came out of Tullahoma. Before last years coffee pot game coach Olive told our coaching staff he would not trade film because he heard fom some coaches in our region that we doctored the tapes.When pressed he reluctantly indicated that coach Joslin @ Cookeville and coach Mantooth @ Fanklin Co were his sources.When those 2 coaches were contacted they indicated there was no truth to this acusation. Also the video equipment CC has had to use in the past was old, home style vhs run by a fireman who volunteered for the job.Both he and most of our coaches are electronicly challenged and do well to set their cell phones.Thank goodness the school or booster club bought some new equipment this year its great. In light of these FACTS if you want to question someones integrity you probablly need to look toward Tullahoma not Coffee Co.

Anyone who keeps up with 5a football would pick this way,Brentwood is solid. Anyone who keeps up with CC football knows they have improved.Time will tell how much.

Don't be sorry,you should say what you think. Brentwood may win,and should be the favored team but CC has put in the hours in the off season,scrimmaged Riverdale, Cleveland {spring} Smyrna, Tyner and Wilson Central {fall} all excellent 2005 teams, so they could be more competitive with good teams like Brentwood.

Thanks to WC for hosting the scrimmage. We've had a good series with them in scrimmages and games in 03 & 04. It was 5-3 Cc when i had to leave early for work.Looked like Cc started a little slow but really came on after the interception. Thought Ccs DBs looked much better.Good luck to both teams during the season. GO RAIDERS

Smyrna's interior d line played high and without much pad leverage.Cc's ol had a 1 yard push on most plays{viewed from beside the chain gang}.Smyrna's linebackers did a good job takeing up the slack.Also could be hard for Smyrna to compete in their region without a running game. R'dale and others in region 4 have the athletes to shut down the pass.

Wilson Central Aug 9 6pm

Smyrna's #2 & 5 are very nice athletes and should account for several scores this season.Smyrna's running game was very average at best.Their defense played ok but i was suprised to see the push CC's OL got up front. CC will be a competitive team, some mental mistakes and dropped passes really hurt yesterday. Tyner will be fine by game day,especially aginst 2a competition.

Well said. Brentwood is a fine football team but they will be a different team than 05. So will CC. Hope to see a good competitive game without any injurys on either sideline.
