  1. Hey, man! Can u tell me how I could approach my boss about getting one of these "WINTERIMS?" Man I sure could use one about now! And to FLMS, that Bolivar-Mitchell game could not provide a true testament to the Bolivar coaching. Mitchell has an all out super aggressive press, so it just has to be attacked. Not much of a chance to execute offensively from half court sets in that type of game!
  2. Wayne WILL PLAY! He's recovered most of the way from strep throat!
  3. I totally forgot to put Jose Crisp in there. My bad, my bad, my bad!!!!! He was one of the top 4 or 5! Sorry! The other three were also very good. There were so many that it is a hard list to make.
  4. SmoothJuker a.k.a. Samurai Princess, I hate to reply to all of the smack talk, but some of the stuff that you say calls for a response. First of all no one, as far as I can recall, has gotten on this board and criticized Mack. I, for one, have alluded to him several times on this board as being a very good player. He is a true point guard and makes his teammates better. However, it was not as simple as you put it that Willie was hot and Mack was cold. Bolivar's hounding defense really troubled Mack and made it hard for him to get his shot off. Secondly, when did Martin become a major D-1 college? I definitely congratulate Mack on his signing there and I even think he could possibly play at a better school, but I have to say Martin is what it is. Finally, you mention that we will see that Mack can shoot the three when he starts playing with some "TOP NOTCH" college players. I didn't realize that he was going to Duke! Will you see if you can get me some tickets when they play at Cameron Indoor? I sure appreciate it. Oh....You meant the top notch players at Martin!
  5. I sure wish someone would give Wayne Chism the respect he deserves on here. He probably should have 35 points every game, but he is so unselfish that he will never average that many. He just wants to win! Everytime W.C. faces a big time opponent, he steps up to the plate. Chism vs. B. Wright(#4 player in nation) its a draw. Chism vs. Greg Oden twice(#1 player in nation) its a draw. Chism vs Jason Bennett(# 50something player in nation,7'3" center)--Chism dominates 25 pts, 8 rebounds on a severely sprained ankle, Bennett-- 1point. I am 99% sure Chism will play in the LEAGUE, but on these boards you say he can't survive without Willie! And by the way, he did not have a dunk blocked by Keck, it was a hook shot. Good block, though, no doubt. And Willie played awesome tonight 35, 15, and 10. A very big factor in this game was the defense played by Crisp and Madden on Mack. Mack is a very good point guard and I feel that the way Lexington plays is based a lot on how well he can run the offense and distribute. Those two guys made everything he did hard tonight and that's not taking anything away from Mack. They just played their hinies off on D!
  6. I've been privileged to see many of the top teams in the state in all classes play this year. IMHO Middleton is a top 5 team regardless of class. They put 5 players on the floor that can flat out play and they bring 2 or 3 players off the bench that do not miss a beat. If they have any flaws it is interior rebounding and maybe that they sometimes shoot too many 3's. I think they are a better team than Union City because they are more complete. If Middleton does not win the state, then I will be surprised.
  7. Against Middleton, Bolivar's Kedric Madden caught a pass trailing the break. He was about three feet behind the three point line as he caught the pass and took a dribble and two steps in stride. His first step was a little behind the line and his second about two or three feet inside the line. His head was even with the rim. The Middleton defender hit him across the forearm and he banged the dunk off the back of the rim. No foul was called and he slightly missed the dunk, but if he would have made it, it would have been the best dunk I've seen in high school basketball ever. Period. By the way, he's only about 6'2"!
  8. DeAngelo Spight better than Olajuwon Kemp, No Way! Probably played a little harder, but did not have the intangibles that Kemp had (Length, Athleticism, Shot Blocking Ability). Here's my all-time top 20 Bolivar Central Players not necessarily in order: 1. Ashley Champion (Chattanooga) 2. Cameron "Petie" Crisp(Tenn. Tech) 3. Willie Kemp(Memphis) 4. Brian Lake(MTSU) 5. Wayne Chism(Tennessee) 6. Devon Lake(Southeast Missouri) 7. Joseph Beauregard(N.Colorado J.C.) 8. Ernest Jones(Lane) 9. Kelvin Allen(Memphis) 10.Elvis Mitchell(Union?) 11.Marcus Cheairs(JSCC) 12.Reginald Crisp (Southeast Missouri) 13.Jerry Clifft (Freed Hardeman) 14.Shawn Boyd (Lane) 15.J.R. Williamson (Fisk) 16.James McNeal(JSCC) 17.Stacey Mitchell(Freed Hardeman) 18.Ryan Wiley(David Lipscomb/Freed) 19.Andre Griggs(Freed Hardeman) 20.Shemon Reaves(Dyersburg St/Christian Brothers) The best out of Bolivar was Joe L. Reaves who went on to play in the NBA, but it was not Bolivar Central at the time.
  9. Is there a number that I can reach you at? If so I will try to get in touch with you tomorrow with an address!
  10. A frequent poster on this board, BtownTigers, passed away Sunday at his home. He was only 19 years old. Please pray for his family. He was an avid fan of the Bolivar Tigers. Rest in Peace!
  11. Bolivar Central takes on national powerhouse Jacksonville ACD on Saturday at the Marshall County hoopfest in Kentucky! ACD features 7'3 senior center Jason Bennet and PG Josue Soto who has signed to play for Florida State. They are ranked #10 preseason in the USA Today prep basketball poll. What are your predictions?
  12. I've seen no one else play this year, but its hard for me to imagine that there is a better shooter in the state than Weddle!
  13. Hey at least they had a perfect record! Hey, I really meant no offense to Lexington fans and I also meant in no way to imply that Bolivar would easily take the championship this year! I am not one to brag and big expectations are sometimes a recipe for a big letdown. So hopefully the Green Tigers will take it one game at a time and come out with something to prove this season. I only desired to rile the ole' SamuraiWarrior up from his hibernation! I don't know if you've figured out my methods, but I really just like to instigate, but I don't like offending or bragging! Sorry if I offended (unless you are the SAMURAI)!
  14. Does anyone have any info on this guy?
  15. Bolivar plays Brentwood, Brentwood plays Mitchell, and a Bolivar-Mitchell matchup is still in the works, so maybe we will truly know which of these teams is best!
  16. At what point do you plan to grace us with your presence and make the proclamation that Lexington High School will be State Champions. Please, oh, please make us wise in our ways!
  17. That Marshall County Hoopfest game is against perennial powerhouse Jacksonville Arlington Country Day School from Florida. The team features a couple of top players including 7'3" center Jason Bennett. Bolivar will also host Brentwood Academy in February.
  18. I was just joking. I wasn't meaning to be taken seriously. Sorry!
  19. If everyone could play 16 year olds in the 14 and under division, then just maybe other teams would have a chance!
  20. Midstate Ballerz and Memphis Magic. These two finished first and fourth respectively at the prestigious Real Deal on the Hill tournament in Fayetteville, Arkansas!
  21. I hate to tell you this, but Bolivar has always had the talent. So, why were there no state tourney titles before Rudesill? Heck, why were there hardly even any state tourney appearances? Coaching is not as overrated as you may think. It takes a strong leader to turn talent into true champions!
  22. [quote name=ekard' date='Mar 22 2005 - 10:54 AM Well, yeah I think Btown will get them another ring next year considering that Wayne and Willie are my brothers Also no team can beat the best.
