  1. Motivation will be a huge factor in this game, I believe Bearden has already wrapped up with #1 seed so I wonder not only what their motivation will be, but how much if any they`ll play their starters. JC still has the #3 seed to play for, but we`ve already clinched the playoffs so we're choosing between going to William Blount or going to Farragut. Its not so much that I think Bearden doesn`t want to be 9-1, but I think they`d gladly take 8-2 with a healthy team and the #1 seed, whereas I think JC wants to be 7-3 very badly no matter what the playoff position is. I know you try to win every game, but if I was Bearden's coach it would be very hard for me to risk my starters in a game that in the grand scheme of things doesn`t mean very much to my team in the long run. I don`t know Bearden's coaches mentality so its just something we`ll have to watch for.
  2. S.Hill seems like a train wreck, so I`ll go with DB by 21
  3. Sounds like the wheels are falling off on Gilligan's Island, things like this can start to snowball REAL FAST, trust me
  4. After what the program has been through I don`t consider us to be having a rough year. Maybe in years past(03 back) this would be considered a rough year, though a win against Bearden would put us at 7-3 which is a pretty darn good regular season any year IMO.
  5. They weren`t 3-7 last year though, the coach of the year isn`t a 3-4 year award
  6. DB is majorly flying under the radar for the 1st time in a LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time, I think the bumps you guys took early will help late. Beefing up the schedule may may things look ugly to begin with, but it prepares you for later on. Whoever has to go up to DB in the 1st round is heading for trouble IMO.
  7. Ditto, from 2-8 just two years ago to 6-4 possibly 7-3 in the span of one year
  8. I would say that the best teams are pretty balanced. I`ll say this though, just like college from what I`ve seen a lot more teams are running a spread offense.
  9. The playoffs are a completely different puppy from the regular season, everyone gets a clean slate and crazy things usually happen.
  10. That soft coverage requires tackles(which increases the risk of injury) because we're rarely in position to break passes up. We can debate which takes more out of you covering a guy down the field or tackling a guy over and over till we`re both blue in the face. Whether they kick to him or not thats still time he's not resting and time that increases the risk of injury.
  11. Last I heard they were undefeated, but things could have changed
  12. BTW, who gets homefield in the semi finals this year?
  13. For THIS year its region 2, sadly this is a debate that won`t be decided until these teams start scheduling each other in the regular season because only 1 region 2 team will play a region 4 team and all that will decide is who is the better teams between those 2 teams not the region as a whole. It would be great to have a round robin tourney between the two regions, but that`ll happen right after we see a 16 team playoff in college football.
  14. For whatever reason JC freshman never play Bearden, and I`ve never understood why
  15. Rotating players is never a bad thing, personally I think we're playing with fire having McFall play every single snap on offense and defense, plus kick and punt return. I agree with you that McFall is the best guy we have in the secondary(I've thought CB was his most natural position from the start) so I can`t see us not having him there. I know it may sound crazy but I would cut down on his plays at RB more than anywhere else. For the past two pre seasons I`ve seen the backup RB make some plays only to never see him once the season starts. Not that I`m saying that McFall shouldn`t be the starter, but a fresh McFall does the whole team good, plus builds some depth should anything happen to him down the road.
  16. Jefferson Co at William Blount, boy that would bea fun week leading up to the game, and a role reversal of 2003
  17. One last comment about the game, the stop and go play we tried to complete normally works better when you`ve previously completed a few stop plays prior to running a stop and go. Just a suggestion
  18. It all depends on the matchups, some region 1 teams will fair better against certain region 2 teams.
  19. I agree with you about the bump and run, but I think we can handle a 5yd cushion. As of now we play 7-10 plus backpedal at the snap.
  20. Those will more than likely be the teams, but a lot can happen to change the order I still think it has more to do with how to defend certain plays, although guys did get beat 1 on 1, but there should be guys to cover the guys that could get beat. We looked absolutely confused for most of the time when SC came out with 4 WR, on one play a LB and a safety went out to cover the same guy, then the safety had to sprint to the other side of the field but the ball was snapped before he made it over. We have to work on the communication in the secondary and between the secondary and the LB's. Also our guys play WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too far off of the WR's, like I hope our offense will do when CB's play that far off the ball the stop route will get 5yds every play. I mean I understand we play that far off because our safeties are usually matched up on someone(which takes me back to how we line up) but its pick your poison with the way we play, either they go over the top or pick us apart short.
  21. Correction after looking at the standings I believe we clinched because Campbell Co beat S.Hill
  22. Tough tough call to make, but with the situation I think it was the right one(win or lose). Sevier County pretty much had all the momentum at that point, with the way SC just walked into the endzone on their 1st series, and the way we pretty much had our way on offense throughout the game I don`t blame Coach Anderson for going for it. Expected something a big more creative for a play that probably decided the season, but it worked. I know this, its a good thing SC found the spread late and not early, I was surprised they waited so long to get he ball to #11, he was open most of the night. Zack Long made several impressive throws, hopefully thats ground for us to throw more. Very good to see us take better care of the football than we have been in the past, need to keep it up. With 2 weeks to prepare for Bearden, we need to get some guys healthy and hopefully put together a good plan of attack. Going to be very tough for us to NOT make the playoffs with this win, but there still is a lot to play for. We win there's no chance we don`t make it, and may just may get to host a playoff game.
  23. I agree with sportsbud, we win the turnover battle we win the game. And by win I mean 1 turnover or less, none would be great but things happen. We win the turnover battle 4-3 we still could lose based on when and where the turnovers happen. RB's need to keep the ball high and tight, QB's needs to know where the pitchman is and keep the ball where our WR's can catch the ball. Its down to the nitty gritty part of the season where mistakes are magnified, these two weeks separate the good teams from the bad ones, and good teams don`t turn the ball over on a regular basis. There is no reason to be nervous about this game, and the chances that await with a win, this is the type of game you live for if you're a competitor. I would say that I hate to put this much pressure on one game, but the truth is when we win(yes I did say when) this is the same win or go home situation we`ll be in come playoff time. Time for the Pats to get back where we belong JC-21 SC-10
