The Cumberland County schools have always had to travel. Hopefully this time they can at least stay in central time and be in a region with teams they have been playing. Macon County is a haul but I would prefer that trip every other year to the many trips to Chattanooga.

Option 2 keeps the two Cumberland County schools crossing time zones. I hope they get to stay in central time.

Cumberland is playing a large number of freshmen and sophomores, including the quarterback and several linemen on both sides of the ball.

Thumped is not exactly accurate. CCHS was down only 6 after three quarters. All three seniors fouled out in the fourth and that's when the margin grew. The Lady Jets played their hearts out and should be very proud of the season.

I think the Lady Jets had something to do with winning that game. I give Cookeville credit, they played very well but CCHS made plays when it counted.

Coach Miller is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. My kids played for her and would run through a wall if she asked. Yes she is animated on the sidelines, but it is never in a negative way or directed at the opposing team or coach. Her teams have always played with a high energy level and that is a direct reflection on her.

Lady Jets win again in Orlando 78-38. Junior Destiny Carlton passed the 1000 point milestone.

Great come from behind win by Cumberland County over a much bigger Ooltewah team last night. The Jets seemed to find another intensity level in the second half.

That's not exactly right. Two 4A teams in this region, Cumberland County and Stone Memorial, are AAA in all sports except football.

You mentioned that stone won the freshman/sophomore tournament but it needs to be noted that they won with juniors playing.

Have either of you spoken with the coach, athletic director, or principal? That would make more sense to me than this discussion.

Every school in the district should have the opportunity to host the tournament if they meet the TSSAA guidelines. Why should only a few schools get home court advantage? As for Cumberland County losing money when they hosted, that is not their fault. Why should they have to travel every year? All the schools in the Bradley area only had to make that trip once a year while CCHS made the trip down several times a season. The fans should not complain about one weeks worth of travel to support their schools.

The play clocks worked fine. The game clock was another story.
