  1. DC could easily make it to the substate... Short of that... their season is over... They will not beat whoever comes out of memphis... If you move them east they would have a shot... East A - Hampton, Wartburg, Cloudland, Rockwood AA - Fulton, Alcoa, Howard AAA - Bearden, Science Hill Middle A - Watertown, MTP AA - CPA, Cheatham Co, Waverly AAA - Blackman, Brentwood West A - TCA, Union City, BTW, Humboldt AA - Southside, Sheffield, Mitchell AAA - Southwind, Melrose, Whitestation, Whitehaven a quick list without referencing schedules...
  2. I'll agree with that... They are a top 10-12 team, but top 3... nope
  3. I'll go with: A - Alex Fountain, Wartburg Central AA - Jalen Lindsey - Christ Presb. AAA - Jajuan Johnson - Southwind Pretty easy selection(s) this year... Although AAA is a little tighter than the others...
  4. with that being said the sub State game will not be much better... this area ( Region 5 or region 6) is going to send two sub par teams to the Glass House....
  5. the district tournament is being held at Clarksville Academy while the region tournament will be held at Eagleville... without question the weakest region in the state...
  6. 7A Is a traditional power and I feel that they very well might have a team in the finals again this year... But with that being said I do not feel they have the best team on paper in single a... they might very well win it again this year but I can honestly say I do not see this happening... honesty from an innocent bystander...
  7. 1A) TCA, BTW alternates...Humboldt, Union City 2A) Southside, Sheffield alternates... Mitchell, Fayette-Ware 3A) Southwind, White Station alternates... East, Whitehaven Mitchell and East have questionable records but I still like them at the end of the year...

    11-AA

yeah... I'll still watch and comment on mcewen/class a basketball from time to time... but the talent level for McEwen, their region, and most single a across the state this year is down... that along with the fact that Waverly is having a great year thus far has me attending a few more games on the other end of the county... I enjoy watching teams from our area be competitive from a state perspective... that being said... I also watch a lot of high school basketball outside of our area... from Cosby to Craigmont...
  10. Might stay might move.. Hamilton has lot of young talent... if they all stay they could compete for a gold ball two years from now....
  11. Got to be the kid from memphis hamilton...
  12. Waverly is a little high maybe around 6-8... Giles definetly is maybe 10... Fayette Ware, Sheffiled, and Covington need to move up in the 3-5 range... Bolivar needs to be mentioned but not in the top 10... Mitchell needs to be on the list at the bottom... Once again... Going off of records and not considering strength of schedule...

    11-AA

All I can say is WOW... I would have never seen that coming... Waverly looks to get the regular season crown walking away now... Aweful loss for CCCHS... I feel sorry for their next opponent...
  14. Unfortuantely... In regards to the best teams play in the Boro...That is not even true toinemac... If if were you would have 3-4 teams every year in AAA from Memphis make it to the state tourney...
  15. Per the poll... 1) MTP 2) Watertown 3) Columbia Academy 4) Wartburg Central 5) TCA 6) BTW 7) Clay County 8) MTCS 9) Cloudland 10) Union City My thoughts in no particular order short of the first two... 1) Columbia Academy is not a top 10 team let alone #3 #hilarious... 2) How does Humboldt not make the cut... #wow MTP is a little high and should be around the 6-9 mark... Clay County is a little high and would not make my list... Union City is a little low and should be in the top 5... Wartburg might be a little high but still should be in the top 10... How does only one D14 team make the list??? #Best district in the state and that is non bias as I live in D10... Hampton, Rockwood, and Middleton might be worth mentioning at the bottom BTW should probably be a little higher R5 and R6 are way down from what they have been in the past There is probably more parity this year than there has been in a long time with no certain area really dominant... but with that being said the west still has the edge due to talent... Why do these people go strictly off records...tsk tsk not much research if you ask me Thank god there is a playoff system and not a BCS...LOL
  16. LOL... Well played nebuntyn... You have earned a rep point for that one... but to my defense they have not always been in that district... Nevertheless this should be an interesting game between JSS and FW...
  17. no one really stood out on their team although they did have several good players... they are all long, athletic, and fairly talented ball players... they have a lot of depth... and should be able to match up with most Memphis teams... the main differences between blackman and a your traditional Memphis power are better coaching and legitimate outside shooting... but as I mentioned before the Memphis teams will be battle tested and slightly more athletic... that along with the fact that 1) the Murphy center is a tough place to shoot in and 2) Blackman will probably have to beat to Memphis teams to win it all is why I continue to say the gold ball will go back to Memphis...
  18. I'll go with: 1) Union City 2) Summertown 3) Clarkrange 4) Jackson County 5) Hampton 6) Houston County 7) Moore County 8) Middleton 9) Clay County Class A girls is always great as there are competitive teams across the state...
  19. I would not put a lot of stock into this game... I heard CCCHS played the best they have all year and Watertown simply happened to be in the gym that night... CCCHS is a ligit (top 10-12) AA team, and Watertown is a ligit (top 4-7) A team... AA is simply better than A when you go down the board... Along with that Watertown has a much better shot of making the state tourney than CCCHS does... Watertown needs to use this game as a building block, put it behind them, and move forward with taking care of the district to finish out the season... I feel Watertown might very well be one of the class a teams in the state... But you still have to play the games out... As they H20-town probably should have made the tourney last year, I feel this year they will use that as fuel to make it... However, limited experience at the big house will inhibit there ability to bring home the gold... Good luck to both teams moving forward...
  20. Impressive win for CCCHS... Although Watertown is class A, they are a tough team and will likely make the class A tournament this year... Good pickup CCCHS...
  21. JSS will have a great out of district test 1/8/12 when they match up against Fayette-Ware... Good measuring stick against another top 15 team in class AA...
  22. Yes, Liberty Tech beat Jackson Southside 69-63 on 12/11/12. You can find this information by going to the home page, selecting team schedules from the left column items, then select men's basketball from the drop down menu, and then select the team schedule that you are wanting to review... hope this helps...
  23. Printdd, I am the one who predicted that Waverly would end up third in the tournament... I believe it was a decent prediction as they beat MBA by 2 in the semis to make it to the finals... They ended up second and were much closer to third than first... FACT. As far as the luck comment goes, show me where I said something negative... I said good luck, you will need it... Good luck, because WCHS is in the same county I live in and I cheer for the as long as they are not playing McEwen... I said your going to need it as you are playing one of the top few AAA teams in the state... FACT. I have supported the Tigers by going to several of their games this year and hope they continue to do well throughout the year... They do alot of great things and they do a few that are more than questionable, but in the end I'm pulling for them almost every night... FACT. Being negative and realistic are two vastly different things my friend... Moving forward... great tournament for WCHS and good luck with the remainder of your schedule... Blackman, I am very much impressed by your ball club, great TN AAA ball club...
