  1. 10sDad...your posts got edited. Watch your language on here or bye bye. VG
  2. I watched the game on TV. I couldn`t hear the whistle, but it was clearly evident that the ref was signaling incomplete pass before the ball was actually intercepted. If he blew the whistle before it was caught then it was Smyrna who actually got a bad call on them if the refs gave the ball to Riverdale. Play stops when the whistle is blown. If he blew the whistle at the same time he was signaling then the ball should have stayed with Smyrna in that case. I couldn`t believe the announcers never caught on to what was being called. They kept saying it should be a Riverdale TD. I guess they have never heard of an inadvertent whistle. Tough break for Riverdale that the whistle blew early. Tough break for Smyrna if they gave the ball to Riverdale and the whistle blew before th actual interception which appears to be what happened.
  3. Maybe you should have sat down and written a song "That`s the night that the lights went out in Paris..." /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> Congrats to HC. Just looking over the stats from the game...It looks as though NS did a very good job in stopping Allen 17 carries 52 yards. Likewise, HC seems to have kept Mann contained from breaking off any big ones...25 carries 120yards. I see that NS had 2 turnovers (1 fumble, 2 INTS), just wondering how costly those were. Did any give HC great field posiion or did any stop NS deep in HC territory?
  4. Most everyone remembers Kevin Mitchell`s barehanded catch of a fly ball near the left field line. Who was the player that hit that ball? Remember there is no looking up the answer.
  5. Hey they put new bleachers in this year just so Bulldog fans would have a nice place to sit. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  6. The fast thinking realredpride was determined that the game must go on after someone spilled some of BigRed84`s juice into a transformer.
  7. Congrats to the Choctaws. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  8. Got to watch this one on TV in West TN. Great Game. Good comeback by Smyrna after it looked like they were gonna get their doors blown off ro take the lead and then another good comeback for Riverdale to win. Couldn`t ask for a better game.
  9. He`s been caring for his dad who is in the hospital.
  10. 101.5 in Jackson 101.5 carries various local games. Tonight will be Southside @ Crockett County
  11. The JCS-Madison game has now been moved to Union University at 7:00 Saturday night. Madison is the host for this game and will not be allowed to use North Park. It is where they have played their home games this year, but North Park is owned by the city and they haven`t been able to do anything to the field this week due to the wet weather.
  12. Honestly I think Mann is very dangerous. Last year I didn`t have that much respect for him because he was a sophomore that had a few good games. The kid isn`t all that big. But he is very elusive when given a space. He looked much improved this year. Granted JCM is down, but I watched this kid make Marshal Faulk type moves. The key to stopping him is to clog it all up and not give him a space to run. If he gets past the line of scrimmage then he is very dangerous. HC could very well be good enough up front to stuff the run. I still think HC wins the game because they have too many weapons for NS to contain. A lot depends on how well NS`s O-line can open something up for him against HC. He can`t do it all himself. He needs some help to break loose. I thought NS was improved on the line this year over last year. I know Gaddis is a good coach and they will be prepared for him, but that still doesn`t take away from the talent this kid has.
  13. In years of watching various high school sports, soccer by far has the most inconsistent officiating. There is no argument about it. As a fan you go to a game and never know what will be called and what won`t be called. I don`t know if we just have bad refs or soccer is just that subjective. But there is NO DOUBT that it is inconsistent.
  14. There is a very good chance that Jackson Central-Merry will be an addition to 2A next year. Current enrollment is right at 680 kids. Oh my...would Milan actually be "forced" top play at the Rock. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
  15. To my Cougar loving Yanker friend...prayers and best wishes for your dad. Hope you both are back at the Rock for the Munford game. I think I`d rather have an appendicitis than have to sleep in a hospital chair. If I`m HC in this ballgame, then I`m gonna run, run run, the ball until NS shows me they can stop it. Control the ball and keep Mann off the field.
  16. yeah...I understood that. Either way if dist.16 had a full load of teams this year instead of one it still would have been the same two teams from 15 in the region finals. Just saying...
  17. District 15 sent two teams to the state tourney 2 years ago. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  18. I just don`t see it that way. IMO as long as the QB can grip and throw the ball normally and a wet ball doesn`t effect the recievers ability to catch the ball then the offense has the advantage. The reason behind that is the receivers know when and where they will make their cuts. The defenders are the ones that I think would have a tougher time keeping their footing.
  19. That`s one of those quotes that seem to find a nice spot on a bulletin board. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  20. I would imagine that you are talking about the crew at 101.5 in Jackson. They don`t broadcast any team in particular instead they choose a local game of the week. They are very good though.
  21. I`ll be more surprised if HC can hold Mann under 100 yards. I think Mann is fully capable of putting up 200 on HC especially if it was a dry field. He`s just a talented back. He just very deceptive. He`s run for almost 1600 yards already this season. He had 300+ in the first half against JCM. I know JCM is down this year, but that is still very good. He followed that up with 253 yards against Camden last week. He gets a ton of carries too during the game. If HC holds him under 100 yards then they came prepared. Of course a lot depends on what happens during the game. A lot of things could work against him like HC keeping control of the football most of the night. Also HC could open up a can and force NS into more of a throwing game, but their strength is still giving the ball to Mann since he is a threat every time he gets the ball. Allen of course is very good, but from what I can tell HC spreads the ball around more therefore limiting Allen in terms of total yards.
  22. Just for fun... Anyone care to guess how many yards Mann and Allen each get Friday night? Allen 155 Mann 215
  23. I`m worried about our friend the Yanker. Anyone seen him around? Hope his dad is alright. I`m wondering how a wet field affects the 2 runningbacks. Does it help or hurt someone like Allen who is more of a power runningback or help or hurt Mann who is definitely a quick slashing runningback.
