  1. In Hoc, please don't reply to my posts again. I'm afraid that viewers on this board capable of reading might associate my writing with your gibberish.
  2. They should enforce the rules using good judgement and common sense.
  3. First call: didn't see it Second call: didn't see it Third call: didn't see it Final call: didn't see it Put me in the group with the officials in 47 previous Ofori matches who didn't see a technical violation either.
  4. Congratulations Danny and Ryan!
  5. Probably will not hurt egos...it's just for fun. I have to wonder though, how many times does Hood have to beat Hayes in order to earn a hypothetical victory?
  6. I don't know Heydon, but Landon Reed is a stud. He is going to be a force for the next three years.
  7. bradley08 - I agree 100%. Any match that I have seen this referee officiate, the match is about this referee.
  8. Perfect! texas23 hits the nail on the head. Capitalism loses again!
  9. Couch??™s BBQ: I-75 North (from Chattanooga) to Ooltewah Exit, take first right on Little Debbie Parkway, immediately right again on Old Lee Highway, then it??™s just a couple of miles on the right. You could get there a little faster from the Summit Exit, but then you don't get to go through Ooltewah. Here are a few others: Highway 58 BBQ: I-75 North (from Chattanooga) to Highway 153 North, exit Highway 58 north just about a mile. It is a tiny building in front of Ace Hardware on left. The best pulled pork I have ever had. Sweeny??™s BBQ: just 4 or 5 miles north of Highway 58 BBQ on the right (past Central High School). My Favorite: Steve??™s Landing in Soddy Daisy. The best ribs ever. Rabbitt or Xbody will have to offer directions. I get lost every time I go to Soddy Daisy.
  10. He's walking around school with an orthopedic boot (i.e. a walking cast) on his foot. Read the entire thread. This is a pretty serious injury - torn ligaments and bone chip revealed in an MRI. This is not a matter of a kid not willing to wrestle through pain, this is the matter of an ankle that will not function. If he had a choice he would be on the mat. It's very obvious that you don't know Josh Patton.

  12. Yes, I would support all of those proposals. Rewarding hard work is more important than geography.
  13. For those who don't know the Pattons, this family is special. Get to know them if you have the opportunity. Jeff, you know how bad we hate this for Josh. Nobody deserved a strong Senior finish more. Stay strong; that dark cloud won't last forever.
  14. I have never understood why the State Duals' Tournament would be held in a competing high school's facility. It just seems inappropriate. The Traditional Tournament at McKenzie offers the Southeastern teams the luxury of being close to home, but the Arena is not a 'home field advantage'. Plus I don't know of any local teams that gain financially from the Traditional Tournament. Ward's article states that Clarksville (I assume their wrestling program) makes at least $5,000 to host the tournament ($50,000 plus over the last 10 years). Their boosters work hard for that money which we all appreciate, but it's a privilege that shouldn't exist while the rest of us are having bake sales and washing cars every weekend for months.
  15. StarRaider, I just received a call from BCB, and he wants to make a change to his DI AAA picks. He had a revelation on the road to Clarksville and insists that you make the following changes: Round 3 (4 pts each) _ Pick the finalists 1 TBSFMAW 2 Cleveland Champion (8 pts): TBSFMAW Runnerup (4 pts): Cleveland 3rd (2 pts): Independence 4th (1 pt): Soddy by God He said he understands that his change request is beyond your deadline, but if you do not allow this request, (since it comes prior to any wrestling action) you should expect to hear from his legal counsel, WiskyJoe. 16. Our kids are still wearing the shirts that we had made last year. It has 'runner up State Duals' on the back among other accomplishments. Our group was rather proud of it. What size do you wear LovinIt? I may still have one or two.

  18. You should hope so...the Association has always loved green! Go Irish!
  19. tnko, I am having a hard time following you in this thread. I don't see any Owls crying about not qualifying for the State Tournament this year. We got beat by two better teams and didn't make it. I do agree with maj, however, in that I would like to see a system to get the best 16 teams in the tournament each year. That's not to say that I'm not happy for any newcomers to tournament, because I am. maj has some creative suggestions to strengthen the tournament, and maybe this thread will generate some others. I think that was the reason for the thread, not to diminish the achievements of any team that did qualify under the current system. You referred to Ooltewah as 'rich', and I think that's really funny. Our boosters work really hard to fund our program, but we certainly aren't rich financially. I think you meant that we were 'rich' in wrestling heritage, and I took your previous post to suggest that maybe we had had our time in the lime light, and it was a good thing for us to get out of the way for another team. Maybe I read too much in to your post, but just so you know - we are one time Region Champions in 30 years! Our coaches and wrestlers are a hard working, blue collar bunch, and you don't get much more humility than this group has. Ooltewah 'Rich'....THAT is rich!
  20. I just cancelled a reservation for 20 rooms on 2/6 and 12 rooms on 2/7, so they should have plenty of space for a team and their fans. This place is only 2 months old and looks fantastic. It is just off 24 at exit 4 which is where you want to be. The group rate that I was quoted was $99 per night for a double (plus taxes). You can find a cheaper place, we saved $25 per room last year and regretted it. Hilton Garden Inn 290 Alfred Thun Road Clarksville, TN 37040 931.647.1096 Good luck to all in the tournament!
  21. The same chance? Please remind me of the other teams that had to get past Soddy and Cleveland to qualify?
  22. It??™s a good article, regardless of the original writer. It kind of depressed me though. The wrestlers that I have been close to over the past 10 years (or so) do it because they have fun doing it. The sacrifices are just part of it. Not getting to smoke after school is a kicker though.
  23. Congratulations to the Soddy Daisy team. I hope you guys do well in Clarksville.
  24. in hoc, you might want to look back at the thread. Sommers (a middle Tennessean) asked what the East version of this type of list might look like. StarRaider was just responding. He never was disrespectful towards the talented group of middle TN kids.
