If mat girls in wrestling,and cheerleaders in football and basketball aren't too big of a distraction than why would bat girls be in baseball?

I played ball in the early 80's in Indiana and we had bat girls.They were in each dugout during the game .There were 2 on each side of the field to retrieve foul balls and two at each of the entrance gates to sell tickets.They were issued old uniform jerseys,hats,and shorts.Baseball was a very big part of our community.Those types of things can boost attendence and student interest.They also helped as equipment managers and were rewarded at the end of the season just like the players.

I would have to question the reporters ability to report the news when they don't get the facts correct.It was Rossview not Rossville.DUH!Since it was their fans that witnessed the incident it would be nice to hear their side of the story.

Binns doesn't Rush sound a little whinny.He seems disappointed the team is happier and showed some improvement last night.Rush must really dislike the seniors and juniors.Could Rush have some venddeta against them or is he some young player begging for playing time?The kidds are there that can turn this around and some players that were being ignored or just used to pitch are beginning to take batting practice agained preparing to help the team in more ways now.Should be interesting to see what happens.Looks like Warren Co. will not have to face Price,and no Blackmans team doesn't take any teams for granted.Especially a team that was able to beat Riverdale.

If you knew the special bond between J Haggins and Coach Greene you would know why he stuck up for Coach Greene.He is the only player they could go to that would support him.I promiss you every other player on that team would be against him.There are no cracks facts are indisputable these things did happen.I will say he has done some very good things and many people no matter what will think it is just too unbelievable based on the good things he has done.No one is saying he was horrible to the kids all the time.What has happen is just a shock to those that aren't there day in and day out.I don't understand the comment don't let the coach dictate their game(that is the coach's job to dictate who plays and how they play.Nobody plays without a coach).As to where were the asst. coachs they were right there staring indisbelief as were the players that this happened.His not stepping down is because he doesn't believe he has a problem as is the case with most people with an anger management problem.We all care about coach Greene and hope he see's that he needs help and gets it because at times he is a great person and can be an asset to a program.We hope the best for him just as we do for the players.

No this was not the only incedent! AS more comes out you will all find that this has been a problem for a long time that the teams record or performance had nothing to do with it.It was not the grabing of one player but several along with threats made to an individual player.The new coach needs to come outside of the current high school and middle school ranks to assure fairness to all returning players next year.

Sorry Grad but Blackman is taking the weekend off to practice, refocus and move on.

Rush22,The players didn't show for Tuesday's game because they were told CG would be there.CG had given himself a 2 game suspension at the time and was going to return on Tuesday.In answer to now that CG is gone do they want to play the answer is a loud and resounding YES!They will definately win more than 5 games now that CG has left.What you were seeing was the effects of what constant degrading does to even good players.Physical attacts were just the last of many abusive situations.To a man not 1 single player was not told how terrible they were or that they could never play for anyone else or that it was CG doing them a favor by just allowing them to be on the team.These boys have a renewed sense of unity and self worth.They are weathering the storm of a bad situation will become stronger men for it.That fact that none of these boys quit and that they stand side by side makes all the parents and fans of Blackman very proud.This unity will definatelly make for a stronger team down the stretch run of the season.They know their season isn't over and that the district tourney may be the key to their season.There are plenty of games left to make the season great and that is what they intend to do.To the Blackman players I tip my cap and will never forget the courage shown in standing together.

Jake would replace Mc Daniel or Nell when ever they pitch and would be a dh, pinch runner.

MSGOV I believe it is a TSSAA requirement that a coach be a member of the school faculty.A parent couldn't coach no matter how much they wanted to.Many great ball players go into other professions that wouldn't allow them to coach and yes they do eventually have children that become ballplayers.Becoming a parent doesn't mean you forget everything you once knew about baseball.Being a school teacher or administrater doesn't automatically make someone a great coach.Part of the appeal of this message board is the differance of oppinions you get and the ability to discuss them.If you don't like what some one says skip over it,laugh,or give a reply to it.My oppinion is some posts are too negative and that individual player names should be left out of those.Coach's take alot of the heat because that is the position they are in and when I coach I would rather be ripped on then have someone rip on my players.BY the way I AM NORAGARM.

Be prepared some major news from Blackman!!!!!

Like the replys but was thinking fall tryouts would seem too late ,most seniors will have had to have already applied or been excepted to a school leaving no options on where to attend and play.Please correct me if I'm wrong but with lottery money requirements the choice has to be made almost before the end of the school year.It would seem there is very little or no time after graduation to wait and see during the fall or even during the summer after graduation.

Ok if you want a prediction I go Riverdale wins pool 1,Farragut wins pool 2,Hendersonville or Houston wins pool 3,Mt Juliet wins pool 4.Farragut beats Riverdale in one game and Mt Juliet beats winner of pool 3.The championship will come down to extra innings between Farragut and Mt.Juliet with the winner being the team with the most pitching left (probably Mt Juliet) previewing what the State Tourney finale game will be.

Wushy101 have any schools contacted you or have you looked any schools yet?

My son was contacted by the school but we had been intouch with them prior to that.I suggest e-mailing the coach's of the schools you would be interested in asking them,most will take a look because it saves them from going to you and they can set it up where they have several interested players all at one time they can talk to about their program.I don't think Div 1 schools are likely to do this but I believe smaller schools and Jucos will at least take a look.Some schools will also have a recruit questioneer for you to fill out first .Good luck and don't give up if you really want to play at the next level but it won't happen unless you take steps to make it happen.

How many players for Mt.Juliet are seniors and have any commited to any colleges yet?

On my original post left out Brad Robinson of Oakland and Jason Lenard of Riverdale also very good prospects.

Who are some of the best unsigned seniors still out there?Please don't direct me to Tenn top players though some are solid there are more that aren't listed because they are at small schools or can't afford showcases and travel teams that want 500 or more to play.What schools are still out there trying to recruit .I know some of the Junior colleges are holding workouts on Sundays.Is there any info for seniors still looking for a school to play for.Some players that deserve consideration Chris Haynes at Smyrna,Brandon James at Smyrna,Zack Dean at Lavergne,Johnny Allen at Lavergne,Justin McDaniel at Blackman,Michael House at Blackman,Josh Andru at Blackman,Rob Nell at Blackman,Trey Medlin(un sure of school he attends).Most of these are guys not listed on Tenn top players they are better than many I have seen listed.I'm sure their are others I have forgotten.No diss to Tenn. top players but there are definatelly some uncovered gems out there.Who are some others?

Saw the Mt. Juliet vs Blackman game and was very impressed with Mt. Juliet.Their infielders were super fluid and had pitcher type arms.Every hitter throughout their line-up seemed like a threat.All hitters were taking good swings and weren't intimidated by Prices heat.They didn't have alot of hitts but against any other pitcher they would have.Of all the teams I've seen this year they seem to be the most complete team by far.Hardy was great on the mound.Would have liked to have seen what other pitchers they have but seeing some of their arms taking infield and outfield can only imagine they will have other good pitchers.Their catcher was also impressive behind the plate don't believe even 1 ball got past him.Look for Mt. Juliet to be a major player in the State Finales.

Bizzaz, please go to Blackman website click on their schedule .Each game you can click on and see pitch by pitch what happened.You'll see their d has been terrible.except for the game against Lavergne by House the pitching has been lights out.Then go to the yearly stats click on and look at just the pitching stats for Price,House,McDaniel,and Nell.After 3 games Price and McDaniel have a combined ERA of 0.00.All 4 pitchers average over 11 k's per game and teams batt. avg against is super low .We have the best staff for sure but no where near the best team.All that pitching is going to waste because we don't score runs.
