The question wasn’t about opinions on a shot clock. That has been debated a million times. The question was about how people felt about them holding the ball a whole quarter. Not much of a strategy if you ask me. Hamilton beat them anyway and was going to beat them so what was accomplished? They didn’t get beat by 50?

These two teams played for the Region 8AA Championship last night and I hear that the score was 0-0 at the end of the first quarter. From what I hear, Mitchell won the jump ball and held the ball the entire first quarter. Did anyone attend the game and can tell us what happened? If this is true, I can see why people are pushing for a shot clock in TN. I am all for strategy, but the fans deserve better than that. The final score ended up being 40-24 with Hamilton winning the game. So the strategy didn't pay off. What are your thoughts??

JacketLover can you give me some of those places. Always good to catch a meal before the game, especially since we will be traveling that day. It is good to still be playing this time of year. It means you have beaten some people to get to this point. I am like you, Friday cannot come quick enough!!!

Classy post Tigerfan!! I agree with you, the Cavaliers had a great run and had a tremendous season!! Nothing to hand your heads about. I think our guys are hungry after losing to the eventual state champion last year on a couple of blown plays!! Hope we can make it there and see what we can do!!

Looks like the most overrated team was White House!!! Chester Co. had them on the ropes and couldn't hang on and how South Side comes in there and spanks them!!

Well considering there are only four teams in that region and three of them have combined for a total of two region wins!! Fayette Ware has one region win and Craigmont does too and looks like they play each other this week.

I thought all along Crockett had not played the type of competition that Haywood has and it showed. All of the trash talking really pumped our guys up to go in and show what we are made of. In the end, I think we were deeper (guys really don't play both ways), faster, and more physical than Crockett. At one point right before the 4th, three of Crockett's main guys 7, 32 and other guy had to be stretched because they were cramping so bad. That didn't happen on our side. So much for the # 2 ranking. Who knows, we may get a chance to do it again! But for now we took those guys out behind the woodshed for a little action! Go Tomcats!!

Well, this Friday night at Crockett Co. is a big battle between two of the top 10 teams in the state AP poll. This one is a match-up between region rivals that are separated by a few miles. I am sure this game has been circled on both teams schedules since they were released back in the spring. What are your thoughts on this one? This game will be for bragging rights, #1 in the region, and I hear it's Senior Night in Alamo!!

We played Ripley last week and won 42-0. Like fanoffootball said, they aren't there right now. They have a couple decent athletes but Covington should win easily.

Gbr I was at the game. It was a good game between two quality teams. At times it looked like the first game of the season. Haywood's lines are both young as far as playing experience is concerned. Will get better as time progresses. Both teams played good hard nosed defense. Henry Co. has some good athletes especially the QB that they bring in that I hear was the starter last year. Good RBs and a quality receiver they threw to quite a bit. Thats my take. Feel free to ask whatever else I didn't cover.

Didn't say it wasn't. You don't see me looking for a moral victory. They won the game on some of our miscues.

Nothing like people hereven thought. Tomcats lose 28-21. Had the game in control and fumbled a snap. Gave up a trick play at the end of the game. That fumble and another costly turnover in the first quarter. Great season. 10-2 and Region Champs with alot of sophomores and juniors back next year. The future is bright! Good luck East!
