It's good to see that the Tomcats don't have a chance. Might as well stay at home at get ready to start basketball season.

I think it will be a good game and a good crowd!! We will see what the outcome will be in a few hours.

Ended up first place in th district. Tough to lose 9 seniors off a state championship team and remain dominant. Guys are gelling together and getting it done. Might not be pretty all the time but it's working. Can't get any better than first in the district. Now let's see what the tournament holds.

I personally don't like the large venues. Teams work all year and through the tournament to get the home court advantage for the sectional game. Get to the gym early if you want to get in!! LOL

Yes sir!! We have waited on this a long time in Haywood County! It is special and I heard the same thing you heard about a Mitchell and Haywood game. They must not know the history our schools have with each other. You are right we must love the game because we were in the rain! Lol

First of all congratulations to Coach Dancy and the guys for a tremendous run to the state title!! I have watched this board ALL year and noticed not one word has been said about them all throughout the season! Even now that they have won the state there are very few comments about them! Finished the season 35-2 and did not lose to a school from the state of TN. I remember when Bolivar was doing this with Willie Kemp that is ALL that people could talk about. People have even talked about it with CPA. Haywood does it and no big deal!! THE ONLY division that all three Mr. Basketball finalists were in street clothes........you guessed it AA. Why is that? Varnado and the Tomcats took them out in the postseason. Who did we lose to this year? Velma Jackson High and Simeon. Google these two schools and see what you find out!! Haywood High Tomcats are the 2015 AA State Champions!!

To address what you said about team defense. Go look at the scores and you will see they held teams below 50 points most games. What is the strength of Ripley? Watching #11 go one on one all night? He got not at the right time tonight. I can't take anything from the effort of Ripley. I believe this loss will help refocus the team. I have not seen you comment on Ripley all year but they win one game and here you come. If I remember correctly Haywood leads Ripley 2-1 this season. If you know anything about sports, you know how hard it is to be the hunted all year long. These guys have taken everyone's best shot all year. You also know how hard it is to beat a team three times. They will respond to this loss and regain focus. Great job Ripley, take the tournament championship while we continue on to trying to win a STATE CHAMPIONSHIP!!

I do remember that 87viking. It's just a trip how we are 22-0 and there are no posts about the Tomcats. Your analysis was exactly on target about how the game would go. We hope to keep rolling and get to the Boro. Thanks for your support.

You said a mouthful then. They do rely on two guys to do it all. I know these guys are good athletes but I don't see how they can continue to win that way. We were too deep, big and physical tonight.

22-0 now!! Blew out the Humboldt team that people were saying would beat us with their football players. Those players didn't make a difference at all. Tomcats step up defensively as they have all season. Good luck to Humboldt the rest of the way. Glad that game is behind us.

If both teams play long enough we will get to see. Until then, I wish them luck!! What is Important today is Jackson North Side, then Bolivar, then Ripley and so on............We want to finish number 1 in the district and then take it from there. Until then, I'm done saying what if.

I just looked at the schedule. Didn't SS beat Liberty by 1? That's not a struggle? Gave up 83 points to Bolivar? Beat JCM by 17? We beat them by almost 40 with a running clock the whole second half. Starters on the bench. I'm not hating on SS, just stating a few facts.

Haywood lost to that SS team last year by 3 points. All of those guys are back and are a year older as well. The Tomcats are 17-0 right now, what more do you want them to prove? They can only beat who is on the schedule. They did struggle in the game with Liberty, what high school team doesn't struggle some nights. They struggled and won by 16. I'll take it!!! Who has SS beat that shows they have "proved" something? Please answer that. If this was CPA we were talking about people would be ranting and raving about the team.

It is funny to me how focused a lot of people are on the Humboldt rematch. There are a lot of games to be played before that. It should be a good matchup but I don't think that it is Haywood's primary focus right now. Meanwhile, they are 17-0 and holding opponents to about mid 40 points per game. That D gives them a chance to win every night.

Don't sleep on those Tomcats!!!
