Baseballa, The Jackson Sun had an article on the second page of the sports section either yesterday or day before yesterday about the teams and the times. I know the WTAC is sending Haywood and Northview girls and Humboldt and Fayette East boys. Haywood's girls are 16-0. Hope this info helps you out some.

I tried to let this one pass but I just couldnt. I dont see how anyone could say that Haywood doesnt worry them that much. I dont think Liberty or Bolivar could even say that and these are the only two teams that Haywood has lost to this year. First I have a question BluNWhite who is your team and you must be from Middle or East Tennessee to make a statement such as this. No disrespect to Middle and East Tennessee teams but West Tennessee is just where it is for AA basketball right now. Where else in the state do you hear of the names we see on a nightly basis such as: Kemp, Young, Powell, Evans, Chism just to name a few. Haywood has played each of these people and more. Last year we had to go through Mitchell just to make it to state. This was and is a team that most people say is the most talented in the state and we shot them out the gym. BUT HAYWOOD DOESNT WORRY YOU!!!! THINK ABOUT IT AND GET BACK AT ME BLUNWHITE!!!

Shaveon Comage came off the bench for Haywood and got 30 the other night against USJ. He is one of the leading scorers on the team and comes off the bench. I think he was like 8-9 from three point range. The only one he missed was a heave from half court at the end of a quarter.

How do you get ESPN U is it only on satellite or do cable companies have it too?

Great game Lady Tomcats!!! Looks like all those people that said Haywood was not a factor were wrong. No undefeated season for the Lady Chargers!!! The regional tournaments should be interesting.

You know its funny how high school basketball works. Haywood beat Fayette Ware by 12 pts earlier this year. It has been a while since Fayette Ware beat Haywood. Even when they had Frank Holmes and "Boogie" Yates Haywood seemed to have their number. In the past couple years they have managed to find a way to beat Bolivar at least once a season. I dont think they will be able to pull it off again though. I think Bolivar will beat them.

Why do they even bother having a poll in high school sports. Not all areas have a vote for the rankings. There is also no way that anyone can see all of the teams in this big long state play. To me its just a waste of time because it is not representative of the games that are being played. I say this even though my team is ranked number three in the state. I do know they are a good team, but when teams like Mitchell and Raleigh Egypt are not in the polls we know something is wrong.

OWNED!!! Were you even at the game? I dont think Liberty OWNED anyone. Dont get me wrong they are a great team but they did not own Haywood that night. THIS IS MY 100th post too!!!

Yeah it is funny how they have a hard time with the fact they can be beat. Kemp and Chism seem to really have thought it was no way they were going to lose to Haywood Saturday night. I like Kemp as a player but he was jumping around in the center circle before tip off and laughing and talking to people in the crowd. I guess winning two championships makes you think you are unbeatable. Coach Rudesill was steaming when he left the gym the other night . I dont know why though its not like they lost to a team that had only won 2 or 3 games. People need to face the reality that these are not the Bulls of the 90s. These are high school kids and can be beat and will get beat. They only have 6 players that play. How long do you expect to beat people with 6 players? THEY BETTER WATCH OUT FOR HAMILTON ON JAN 16th.

What was also rediculous were the things that I mentioned in my earlier post in this thread about Haywood over-selling the game and their lack of crowd control. Also, I have seen a member of the coaching staff at Haywood reffing high school games involving teams that Haywood plays this year. Now, that individual is a good guy and is above board in my opinion. However, some people might think it looks awfully strange. ]THIS WAS NOT PART OF MY POST AND I DONT KNOW HOW IT IS PASTED IN MY POST!!!

Its not really about respect on this board. Its just that the team is 13-2 with losses to Liberty and Bolivar and rarely get a mention on this board. Bolivar beats SouthSide by 20 the other night and it is in the Jackson Sun and on jacksonsun.com. Haywood beats Bolivar in a close game with a packed house and gets no coverage in the paper either. Thanks for the congrats though.

Why does no one have anything to say when Bolivar loses. They played Lexington and beat them and the thread went on and on for seven pages. They lose and there are only seven total posts. Bolivar has lost to two 14 AA teams this year in Fayette Ware and Haywood. What does that tell you about our district? Also we have to go through tough Memphis teams such as Mitchell last year. We have gone through Raleigh Egypt in the past and had to play Ridgeway also. These have been some of the top teams in the state year in and year out. Who does Bolivar play to get to the state? Certainly not teams of this caliber. People act like Bolivar is invincible. The got the benefit of some terrible calls and still lost. One of the referees that called everything in Bolivar's favor had the nerve to point Willie Kemp out to some people in the crowd and nod his head like this is the one Im talking about. Then he and Kemp gave each other high fives and laughed together. That type of favoritism is ridiculous. WAY TO GO HAYWOOD!!! We get no respect on this board but we keep on winning anyway.

This game is over so why is everyone still talking about it. I dont understand how a Lexington vs. Bolivar post can go on and on for 6 pages. When has Lexington even been to Murfreesboro to play in the State Tournament. Enough with this already. Bolivar won Lexington lost and should just concentrate on their next game and get ready for the rematch with Bolivar.

Ricky Taylor is a sophmore that not a whole lot of people have heard of. He is about 6-2 and steady growing. He can shoot the ball and also put it on the floor. Listen for this one in years to come. I meant to add that Ricky plays for Haywood High School

Another thing with the stamina issue is the fact that Hamilton is more of a run and gun team than Bolivar is. Hamilton can score 100 points easy. Also take in account that they will not be playing on a high school floor. I think that Hamilton is being underestimated on this post. They also have two D-1 players that are about 6-8 or 6-9.

White Station has a new coach this year and it is a rebuilding year. He says that he has a lot of young players and they are working hard trying to learn the game. They should be OK in the future with open enrollment in Memphis. He is a good coach and once the players learn his system and they get some more experience they should be OK.

I will miss posting with btowntigers. I am a big Haywood fan and everyone knows that we are rivals with Bolivar. You could always count on btown to make intelligent posts. He loved his Tigers like I love my Tomcats. I hope that his soul finds a great resting place now that he is gone. I did not personally know him, but feel like I did since we posted together on this board. Funny how a board like this can connect people from all over the state. Btown's family is in my prayers. RIP BTOWNTIGERS!!!!

Thanks truhoopsfan. Thats what most people that attend the games dont look at. They think of the great teams that both Haywood and Bolivar have had through the years and expect these teams to be like them. They dont look at the fact that Haywood is starting 3 sophmores including a sophmore point guard. Thats the majority of the starting lineup that has no varsity experience before this year. Bolivar starts a freshman and two sophmores. So they are in the same situation. The Tomcats have gotten off to a great start at 8-2. Those two losses have come to two of the top teams in AA in Liberty and Bolivar. Not to mention the fact that they have a new coach that is a first-year varsity head coach. When the smoke clears at the end of the season I believe some of these early tests will pay off for both teams.
