  1. SS Alex Marbury and CF Xan Stewart are two good juniors at Liberty.
  2. I go to school and play sports at Liberty and I have yet to hear of this news
  3. I believe the All-Tournament team in AA was this: Jewuan Long-Liberty Tech. (also named tournament MVP) Josh Sain-Liberty Tech. Brandon Evans-Liberty Tech. Devon Jones-Liberty Tech. Thaddeus Young-Mitchell Brandon Powell-Mitchell Andre Thornton-Mitchell CJ Davis-Goodpasture Beau Brown-McMinn Central Blake Derrick-McMinn Central If I left anyone out I'm sorry but I am alsmost positive that this was the team.
  4. I thought this was a Liberty and Mitchell thread? Hamilton beat Mitchell by 4 with a full healthy Mitchell lineup and Hamilton beat them by 1. I'm not saying that Liberty would beat Hamilton but Hamilton wouldn't for sure beat Liberty either.
  5. Liberty returns 4 out of 5 starters from this years state championship team, and return 13 put of 17 players total.
  6. I know there will be a lot of people saying that they have been down for Liberty since day one and just started yesterday. I will be happy to finally get some support for my boys at Liberty because they deserve it and our just now starting to get it. I hope Liberty can get the support that the teams like Bolivar and Haywood get.
  7. Haywood was a great team this year, they were a top 4 team in the state and nobody recognizes that because of the first round pairings. I know what you are talking about with the bandwagon thing. I was one of the only if not the only person at the first of this year to say that Liberty would be in the hunt for the title. Liberty is not a shoe in for the title next year because your boys from Haywood will have a lot to say about that one with everyone but Liggons and Varnardo back from this years team.
  8. These are the top 10 of the players I have seen play: 1. Jewuan Long (Liberty Tech)-Class AA State Tournament MVP 2. Maurice Miller (Raleigh Egypt) 3. Terrence Oglesby (Bradley Central) 4. Omar Wattad (Science Hill) 5. CJ Davis (Goodpasture) 6. Josh Sain (Liberty Tech) 7. Devon Jones (Liberty Tech) 8. Ken Bingham (McNairy Central) 9. Brandon Brown (Brentwood Academy) 10. Brian Wright (Brentwood Academy)
  9. Southeast Region 1. Memphis, Tenn., Hamilton (39-0) (1) 2. Brentwood, Tenn., Academy (34-2) (2) 3. Norcross, Ga. (29-4) (4) 4. Jacksonville, Fla., Arlington Country Day (27-3) (6) 5. Miami, Fla., Norland (27-6) (7) 6. Louisville, Ky., Jeffersontown (32-3) -- 7. Jackson, Tenn., Liberty (34-3) -- 8. Lafayette, La., Northside (33-5) (9) 9. Jackson, Miss., Lanier (33-3) (10) 10. Marietta, Ga., Wheeler (29-2) -- Three teams from Tennessee finish up the season in the rankings
  10. Nobody wants to hear the crying your doing. I asked for predictions and your being a smart alec and don't like seeing anybody pick against your team. They are stating their opinions and if you think Mitchell is going to win then say it, it is your opinion.
  11. How does everyone think this game will turn out?
  12. November 18th was the night. There would have been a bigger crowd but JCM played Melrose that night across town and most people were there. No, it was not a scrimmage and Liberty beat them straight up.
  13. great post.....Quis is underrated and he should win the Mr. Basketball award without a doubt.
  14. Irvin only played 3 games all season. In the games that Liberty has performed their best Irvin did not play in.
  15. Liberty can boast about 7 or 8 offensive threats. Can McMinn say that?
  16. Liberty also played four Memphis AAA teams Raleigh Egypt, Wooddale, Whitehaven, and Fairley, one of East Tennessee's finest, AA Austin-East, and a very good A ball club Union City. Oh, and did I mention they beat all of these teams, so please don't say that Liberty has only played Bolivar and Haywood even though they are better than any teams McMinn has played all year.
  17. I personally do not think there is an underdog in this game. They are both great teams and it is a shame one of them has to go home this early. I look for this to be the game that you have to win to get to the championship because of McMinn Central's weak schedule.
  18. I am definitely ready to see if the West can do it AGAIN!!!
  19. Your not so lucky with Haywood and Liberty in your side of the bracket either.
  20. Varnardo is one player and can only do so much, without a great team effort they will have a hard time beating Liberty. Liberty is one of the most, if not the most balanced, athletic, and deep team in the state. Haywood is also all of these, look for this game to be a classic.
  21. Bolivar or Mitchell, both are the Tigers
  22. Varnardo scored 32 against Liberty the first time. He is a great player and is, what i think, the best defensive stopper in the state
  23. I don't think it will be that way this year. No matter what time it is both of these teams will be ready to play and I expect a good one. Jarvis Varnardo and Lee Liggins for Haywood are not ready to end their high school career yet. Neither is Brandon Evans, Bijon Jones, Zack Williams, and Jarvis Gill for Liberty. I hope you are right though, not anything bad towards Haywood but I want Liberty to win.
