People from Jackson County are lifting the Pickett family up. His first coahing stint in football was at Jackson County as an assistant with Coach Steve Medlin whom he went to coach with at Grundy County. I believe he did his student teaching at Jackson County, help with Coach Medlin at the time. I coach against pick when he was at Cookeville. He was a great man with a hugh smile. God Bless the Pickett family.

He was doing a great job. He had the boys motivated and working hard. The few boys that I have talked to are very disappointed but they understand why he had to leave. Jackson County high school head football coach Brint Russell resigned monday. Reasons were from the illness of his mother back in his hometown of North Carolina. We wish coach Russell well and hope his mother will continue to get stronger each and every day. Coach Richard Devers is the head coach for this 2007 football season. Hey I just want to wish Monterey good luck today against Friendship, and congrats to coach Looper and the wildcats for advancing to sub-state. Goes to show with hard work and perserversance good things happen. Again good luck and go to state!

Just wanted to say, I thought the tournament went real well. Had unbeliveable weather, and great crowds both at the tournament, and the fish fry. Monterey won all three games they played while Smith County went 2-1. YorK Institute went 2-1 as well. Watertown and Jackson County went 1-2 and Clay County went 0-3. To all the parents and cooks thanks for making this tournament a great success, and I am sure Alex was looking down and smiling from ear to ear this weekend as I am sure he is everyday for he is in a much better place then we are. Sure do miss you buddy.

Leann you are absolutely correct withyour statement. Coach has been there all day working on the field and he also was working on it after our middle school game yesterday. To the Cassetty family, Coach King and everyone else who dedicates their time to our facility I want to say thanks and to all of the Blue Devil players I hope you appreciate what you have. Yes he is. Both of my sons have played for Coach King. They both have also had the pleasure of playing with Alex Cassetty. Alex meant alot to Paco and Mikey. So everyone get ready for some good baseball and some great food. God Bless. #3 You're always in our heart

Looks like the good Lord is going to give us great weather this weekend. So I hope we have a good turnout for the tournament. The fish from the fish fry is coming from Helens Restaurant , we know the fish and hushpuppies will be good, to go along with those homemade desserts. On Friday between games two and three we will be having a prayer, and a moment of silence for Alex and the Cassetty family. Come out and watch some good baseball .

The third annual Alex Cassetty Memorial Classic will be played on Friday April 20th , and Saturday April 21st. This tournament is played at Jackson County High School Baseball Field. There will also be an All you can eat Fish Fry on Saturday April 21st from 4:00 to 7:00 at the Jackson County Middle School. All proceeds go to the Jackson County High and Jackson County Middle School Programs. This tournament is to remember Alex Cassetty who died in a car accident 2003. He played second base for the blue devils. The pressbox is named after him, and this tournament is to keep his name intact in Blue Devil baseball. Here is the tournament schedule. The cost of the Fish Fry is $6.00. So we hope to see you at the tournament.
