Cloudland and Hampton have never stopped being a rivalry. The game justed stopped having any meaning in regional standing. Hampton should be tough this year.

The title of this thread is "Unaka Football". I am wondering why any Unaka fan should be told to leave it and why any other information about any other team should be posted here.

I don't care what reason he had to come to Tusculum. I'm just glad he is here.

I have been tempted to post here from the beginning of this thread. I guess I will have to give in. '03 Cloudland in 1A should have taken it all. Was it the weak schedule, lack of motivation, not prepared enough, over confidence,....... We will never know the reason for the loss, but, a lot of people are still shaking their heads over this one.

Hope that Unaka can do better than 2-8. The talent has been there to do better in the past. Don't know about now.

The coach for the east paid Byrd a very good compliment just before the second half started. It was obvious that the west's line on both sides of the ball was far superior. The skill players, no matter who they are, have to have blocking. Cristman made a good showing, in my opinion. I sure would like to see him playing here at Tusculum, also.

HonestAbe, I am not dissing Cloudland. I am a Carter County fan but lean mostly toward Cloudland since I attended there for a short time. I heard from an Elizabethton native of problems and was concerned about them. Go Landers and all of Carter County.

Heard through the grapevine that a few players in line to start next year are upset over something going with the team. Also heard that there might not be enough for a decent team. Is this Unaka's year? What about it?

Looks to me like Unaka is getting it going, now. Some pretty good wins lately.

Please remember that the offensive statements posted here are not representative of the majority. The old saying of "one bad apple" applies. There are always going to be a very few people in every community that makes the whole community look bad. I am sure that you have some in your community, also.

I wonder if Coacht has ever thought of an "ignore" button like on some chat rooms. It would be useful on here sometimes.

I talked to a Cloudland parent that did not know of a win by Cloudland, except a very small private, all year. Have they won any?

I would say that Cloudland will be down after losing a load of talent, but, still should win the district. If what I have heard is correct, there is no way Cloudland should allow Happy Valley a place on their schedule. I look for North Greene to be improved along with Unaka, but, can either school get enough kids out to really challenge tradition rich Cloudland.

May have been a poor comparison, except for the size part (which I think was the point of the comparison in the first place. Cedric Wilson is about the same height.) Byrd has a lot of talent and, more important, heart. We will wait and see what happens next season. I look forward to see how the whole team does this year. Again, I would like to see Cristman down here, too.

Byrd is the "real deal". He will not be as dominant as in high school, but, will play a lot of slot and wideout. Will also return and may even do some tailback. No excuse, but, he was hurt in the CAK game. I would like to see Cristman get a chance at linebacker, also. He is a good one, too.

Happy Valley has a great facility and is improving. Great parental support there, too.

Every situation is different. Sometimes the parent is right, sometimes the coach is right. This thread would be better if everyone on this thread criticizing in either direction knew all the details of every situation.
