  1. i know y'all have said QB but i'll tell you why: 1. A QB takes all the blame for the offensive troubles--no matter what happened(no exception) the QB could have done something to keep it from happening 2. Everybody is always watching the QB--he's always the first person you look at to see where the ball is going.(some defences even read the QB) 3. Not enough recognition--i know what your thinking "the QB gets all the credit", not true. QB's never get credited for checking out of a bad situation into a good one(which happens alot) but always are blamed for not doing it(see #1). 4. QB no matter how old must step in and lead the entire team-- The QB at school my freshman year had to start his sophmore year at the age of 14(he was young). It isn't easy to get into someone who is older, bigger, and stronger that you's face when they mess up. 5. Must know EVERYTHING-- no joke. Every formation; every variation of every formation; every passing route; every variation of every passing route; every run route(and variations too); all the blocking assignments(to know where blitzs r coming from)(to know what run can work); every aspect of defenses played. i.e. D-line alignment, stunts, and responsibilities, linebacker alignment, blitzs, and responsibilities, cornerback "ditto"(very important), safety "ditto" (even more important), total defensive scheme and weakness(a good O-coordinator helps alot) HARDEST position
  2. ive got to give catholic some credit, they do look good on film. they have two good wings and a very solid fullback. i'll say what i said before, it will take everything BGA has to win the game.
  3. thats a great quotation but their is one better that i learned along time ago. It goes like this. This is the law of the jungle As old and as true as the sky The wolf that shall keep it will prosper The wolf that does break it must die Like the creeper that girdles the treetrunk The law runs both forward and back For the streangth of the pack is the wolf And the streangth of the wolf is the pack it also works well with lions or cats. P.S. if anyone knows who wrote this let me know.
  4. yeah. its pretty bad that a team with so little talent beat you in the state championship last year
  5. the two teams did shake hands after the game. i dont know about the coaches
  6. The problem with your basis of thinking is that Byrne did not play the whole game. It is'nt about us having an ego so big that we must finish a game, but instead about what is taught throughout the course of the season. The Byrne coach, by refusing to finish the game, is teaching his players that it is okay to quit, that it is okay to work for something that you don't believe in, and that your pride and honor really do mean nothing. The Byrne coach must realize that he is not only a coach but a teacher and a role model to his players. He needs to teach the kids football and life values. Judging from last friday night, he is not doing his job. Finally, this was not just a ame to any of the players in the game. We have not worked for over three and a half months to just quit without finishing our work. And about your injury theory, anyone who plays football understands the threat of being injured. I, myself, have suffered both a broken arm and a fractured vertebrae but I continue to play the game. Anyone who plays this game understands this and is willing to play despite this. No, the coach wouldn't, shouldn't, and couldn't have been worried about injuries. P.S. Why, if you come into a game expecting to be killed, would you refuse to go for the win after you have survived until overtime?
  7. only know of one from BGA. Troy Fleming running back; University of Tennessee full back; Rookie on the titans #44. plays full back and special teams
  8. no question. i mean what does it mean when a coach dosnt have enough faith in his players when they have already forced overtime. i would like to hear a byrne player's perspective on this.
  9. speakin of the busses: BGA payed for them. The least Byrne could have done is to stay and finish the game.
  10. we'll see how you feel after giving up your blood sweat and tears. and then when all your work just might be worth it have someone snatch away your glory. next time you go to insult some dumb jocks, find out what their all about. then come talk to me about playin ball. until then put a sock in it!
  11. this is a game that Catholic is supposed to win but BGA could have a chance if they are allowed to hang around for too long. BGA is coming off its first win of the season and is looking for its first region victory.

    Knox Catholic

Does anyone know what class/division Catholic is movin to
  13. i play on the BGA football team. the game against bishop Byrne was won that we should have easily won. anyhow i can vouch for the whole team that everybody wanted to finish that game. we are without a win and we all wanted to make sure we got one. it was the byrne coaches who refused to play the overime and there was nothing we could do about it. from what ive heard the game will go down as a 1-0 victory but all of the stats will stand.
  14. i agree this would be a great game... a couple of years ago. but anyways i go to bga and know a bunch of people at franklin. i have often wondered why this game isn't played. the game would be great to play next year

    BGA AT JP2

BGA has its best chance to get a W so far. JPII is a good team but if BGA can come out and play like they r capable of, they have a good chance to win
  16. all of those good, hard and fast songs are great to get up, but u can also listen to some of those slow but powerful instrumentals. the theme from gladiator is great b/c it starts slow and then speeds up. also there is a version of "throw it up" with no words and a symphany playing the music slower that usual with a chorus la laing in the background. it is BAD!
  17. 2001 clinic bowl my freshman year Bga vs Briarcrest game tied 7-7 with just a few seconds left. BGA misses 30 yard feild goal to win the game. the game goes into overtime. both teams kick feild goals from inside the 5. game tied 10-10. Bga gets ball first kick feild goal from 2. Briarcrest gets to 4th and 1 from 1. throws a screen pass and player dives into endzone. briarcrest wins in double overtime 13-10. thats heartbreaking.

    Webb vs. BGA

the coaches and players also agree that no information should be given about the great skill and ability of the coaches and players
  21. most of the ranking actually depend upon how well BGA plays against Centennial in their opener. BGA lost 16 seniors last year and will have six this following year so they are very young. also their are les than 20 upper classmen and less that half of them have seen significant playing time. there could be some real tallent on the BGA squad but it will be impossable to tell until opening night. the one good thing they have going for them is an exellent coaching staff. Tim Moore is entering his 7th year as head coach and has won either three or four state championships in that time. O J flemming will be the offensive coodinator and is a master at picking apart defenses. Doug Langston will be entering his 31st year as a staff member at BGA and knows the school and its students like the back of his hand. also returning is charlie manning. Some new additions to the coaching staff are Tim Morabito, a defensive linemen who played in the NFL for awhile. Jim Tully who is supposed to be a great coach. and Frank Wycheck who has played tight end in the NFL for the past 11 seasons. we will just have to wait and see how things go.
  22. if all goes to plan i should start QB for our football team, keeper for our soccer team, and i have run middle distance in track since my freshman year. i am a rising junior
  23. yes, that is true. im just saying that talent wise, nothing else considered, BGA was the best team in DII
  24. just to clear things up, no one could keep up with the normal starting 11 of BGA. it is only when you start throwing JV players into important positions that other can play with us.
