  1. Why should anyone be scared....oh..I mean....skeered of any particular district?
  2. Tick-tock..........tick-tock.....tick-tock ( Sorry, I know that DU's thing but I couldn't resist. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> )
  3. If my daughter were on that list I'd post it too /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" /> We're all very proud of Jasmine.
  4. I gotcha. Hey, there's nothing wrong with that. If you give your best effort then that's all anyone can ever ask.
  5. I do hope both you and your friend get the chance to play at the college level. To get your education paid for and still get to play a sport you love is a special thing. However, there isn't any way around the academics in the end. I'm not saying you'll have to keep up a 3.5 GPA or anything but there will be grade requirements to be met.
  6. SCS just did the same...............although we had Craigmont tonight anyway
  7. Score more points. /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />
  8. Arlington is indeed getting better and that may be a tough game.............................in about 2 years. Tonight you steamroll 'em. 73-41, Book it. Congrats on the ranking coach. I'll actually get to talk to you friday night. ( I was shanghaied into running the clock this year /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> )
  9. I've been good my friend. Basketball has kept me very busy. Helping coach freshman and running the clock for varsity. Actually, my freshman will be playing for a district championship on Thursday night against Southwind. I'm ready to see me some serious baseball. Btw, it's looking like we may get to go with the team down to Atlanta /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  10. As a coach I'm going to the right thing but the TSSAA has already shown me how far that gets you in their eyes. The bottom line is it's all about personal integrity. That goes for coaches, students, and parents alike. Some people just don't have any. Students are kids and should be shown integrity as demonstrated by parents first and coaches second. That doesn't always happen and it's sad when neither party acts like an adult should.
  11. That's a thread for another day /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Glad we could agree though. Best wishes to the Purple Wave as well.
  12. I'm tuning my violin......................................
  13. Where the heck did that come from? Ok, I'll bite. What's your story?
  14. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> That would be one looooooooong night
  15. Yes, this poor ole horse has been beaten to death. I honestly haven't understood the whole thing. I'll admit I personally have no love for CBHS but that's got nothing to do with how good the baseball team is or admitting the fact that they are likely to win a championship which means they are pretty dog-gone good. Likewise, as you have stated, Bartlett stands a good chance of doing the same in AAA which also means they are pretty dog-gone good. It's irrelevant to argue who is better.
  16. Oh, I wholeheartedly agree. There are those public school programs that are every bit as bad, if not worse. I have no real problem with private schools other than they get so offended if it's ever suggested one would ever do such a thing. Don't even get me started on the false address debacle /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> My only problem is with the TSSAA and case-by-case judgements. They may look at an individual case but the chances are slim to none of getting a judgement in your favor. I understand why in that the burden of proof is on the person to provide due reason. Still, it makes it seem as if judgements are predetermined. (although I know that not to be true) I know it doesn't sound like it but I'm actually defending the TSSAA in regards to this transfer rule.
  17. At a freshman boys basketball game we had fan who was "asked" to leave because he told an official, and I qoute, " That was a terrible call. You were way out of position. That's why you'll always be a freshman ref" /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  18. In a perfect world we could just bust the people who were recruiting however that's all but impossible to do. I feel for your friend but some private schools are among the worst offenders. At least with a public school parents can move into the proper district and it's all well and good. It may still be recruiting but if you're willing to move so that your child can attend a particular school then that is your right. Now, had she left a private school in order to attend a public school which she is zoned to attend then I wouldn't have any problem with it although the rule would still hold. To treat every situation in a case-by-case basis would take an eternity to sort out and would result in unequal treatment more often than not. Bottom line is the TSSAA doesn't exist to be fair. Many rules make sense while some don't. Many are rigid and innocent people get caught in up them at times. Believe me, I know first hand. Some rules do need to be changed but not this one. I wish your friend nothing but the best in her future endeavors.
  19. In all honesty, I think you may have a good idea on your hands.
  20. There's nothing I can really add that hasn't been stated already. The rule is needed. Recruiting does happen and is all too common. The transfer rule is the only weapon the TSSAA has in an attempt to police programs who would engage in such activity. It's about as effective as trying to eat soup with a fork but it's needed.
  21. Wow, I can't believe I missed this thread. Brighton isn't in 14-AAA. I don't see Millington or Bartlett dropping a game in district this year unless it is to each other, as the case for Bartlett right now being 7-1 in 14-AAA. Cordova and Bolton both play hard and could probably give somebody a game on the right night but this is how I see 14-AAA shaking out heading into tournament play................ 1)Millington 2)Bartlett [ Of course, these two have another game to play] 3)Cordova 4)Bolton 5)Arlington 6)Craigmont 7)Raleigh-Egypt
  22. I'm usually a coffee guy in the morning but had none available to me, dog-gone-it.
  23. Nah, I've never really been able to get into the diet drinks although I can offer you an ice-cold, refreshing Dr. Pepper...aaahhhhhhhhhh
  24. PB grabs him a sammich and pulls up a chair........ /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  25. Oh for goodness sake..................................... /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Personally, I would just plain love to be in one county wide district. It works just fine for Freshman basketball /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
