  1. Again, if he were on here boasting, being prideful, and giving no credit to Greenville then I would agree with you. I understand where you are trying to come from but saying the guy is running his mouth is a bit if an overstatement. Win or lose you can be sure he'll be the first to congratulate Greenville on a great season.
  2. Look, I'm not a Millington guy or anything. If anything we are in direct competition. That said, I have NEVER seen anything posted by Coachgat that stirs the pot. He has only been supportive of his team and positive about everybody. Give him a break.
  3. I would doubt it unless it is TSSAA produced. Aside from radio I don't believe any other form of live media coverage is allowed unless sanctioned by the TSSAA itself. In the past, games had always been taped with a play-by-play commentator and then made available for purchase.
  4. Congrats to both teams!! Great job!!!!!
  5. Congrats to Millington. Well done. Actually Rob, the thing that impresses me about ya'll is the team's ability to pull the ball out and milk clock. To have the ball handlers to do that and not mentally check out is tougher than it sounds. If I'm not mistaken the Millington offense in the majority of the 4th was to operate with all 5 players outside the 3 point line , mostly staying off the wings , and chewing clock. I'm not sure many team's good do that without eventually turning it over. They played a great game. Anyway, it was good to see you as always. May we both journey to MTSU. Hopefully I'll be over this flu by then. Ha!
  6. Correction : Bartlett vs Millington is a 6pm tonight at Arlington. It should be a dandy.
  7. I want to say 7 but I'll have to double check. I'll find out for sure and post the correct time.
  8. Well, that's the very point. It's not anti-official in any or at least was never intended to come across in that way. Many times fans and parents get caught up with a game lay into an official way too much. Looking at some of the recent threads I very much believe that refs get dumped on far too much. I was only disagreeing with the idea that it would be impossible for such a thing to happen on the official's side. It's all I was trying to say. That's not unfair, is it?
  9. Just as with coach, student, or player behavior these things should be looked at case by case and not generalized. What has been said has not an indictment of officials as a whole. Some coaches recruit and some students cheat but it doesn't mean they all do. As a general rule I agree with the sentiment implied by that statement. Generally speaking, officials don't have personal agendas. I would simply say this. We excuse officials most of time when it comes to missed calls or poor judgement on a bang bang play because officials are human and as such make mistakes. This is understandable. At the same time, if allow room for human error in judgement then that idea must be extended to its full meaning. Human beings can lose their cool and get angry. Let their emotions get the best if them. They can hold things against people. It's quite rare that an official would do that but let's not be so bold as to say it can't or doesn't ever happen.
  10. Way to go Millington!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  11. As a Tiger fan living near Memphis I have to say that just about the dumbest thing I've ever heard of. I apologize on our behalf. As to my pick of course I'm going to go with my heart and pick the Tigers. I'm as much a homer as anyone. The only that bugs the living stew out of me is fans on both sides who act as if when their team wins it'll prove the inferiority of the other team. Nobody should be surprised if the Tigers win. I wouldn't be surprised if the Vols win. These are both final four caliber teams for goodness sake. Tonight, the college basketball world sets its eyes on our fair state and nobody else. It's going to be a war. I'm glad I'll be in there to see it.
  12. Touchy isn't the word. They lost control early in the 2nd half and decided they were going to impose marshall law. There were 5 technical fouls issued in the 3rd qtr ( 4 to Craigmont, 1 to Bolton) and honestly only a couple were warranted. It was silly and a few of us sitting next to the hospitality room were concerned that an altercation would occur due to the over-reaction by the men in stripes. Thankfully, nothing did.
  13. What of Cordova? I know they are not county but they once were. Southwind is in the same boat are they not? ( eventually will be a MCS)
  14. Like you, I try to tend to be positive when discussing player and/or team performance. At the same time, I don't believe in sugar-coating either. There is fine line between contructive criticism and just being negative. The only problem one has is when you run into one of those folks who considers anything short of high praise for their child to be something low and negative. DU, can we use that same positive spin with posters from time to time? /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> Seriously though, that's a good stance to have.
  15. Exactly. 100% agreed on all points. I know BGrad and can vouch for what he meant to say.
  16. Or maybe start a thread about how well Lausanne is doing......but they should just prove it on the floor I guess. Heaven forbid anybody talk about it.
  17. The reality is the last time I checked neither Bartlett nor Millington have even made it to the AAA state tournament in recent years, much less competed for the title. So before either you or coachgat get too ahead of yourselves and declare yourselves up there will Mt Juliet, Shelbyville, Wilson Central, Cleveland, and Oak Ridge, you might want to make sure you take care business here at home, and get the opportunity to prove yourselves. East, Northside, and Central as well as White Station, Germantown and Houston might have a little something to say about all of this before it is all said and done. I hope that gold ball ends up in Memphis, but neither Bartlett or Millington have played anyone yet of the caliber of the AAA powers in the rest of the state +
  18. Great game tonight as usual. The Lady Panthers played a fantastic game and I'm very proud of all of them. You've got a great team Coachgat. These games are always something to behold. Btw, if RobM doesn't come by this thread, tell him I really enjoyed getting to talk with him again down at the table. See you guys back up in Millington.
  19. First let me say that whenever the Bartlett Panthers take the floor I want them to win. However, when I sit in front of that clock and the ball goes in the air it's just me and the officials in that gym. I zone out in terms of the thrill of the game and who wins and loses isn't my concern. I just don't want to screw up /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> This is my first year to run the clock. At the start I was horrible but I like to think I do pretty good job now. I take some pleasure in that.
  20. It's going to be torture for me. I won't be able to enjoy/get into the game while running the clock...lol
  21. Winning programs attract players. No doubt.
