  1. I went to the Soddy-Baylor scrimmage, and then to the jamboree at Rhea. Here's my picks: 1. McCallie 2. Tyner 3. Boyd 4. Soddy 5. Baylor 6. Hixson 7. Ooltewah 8. Brainerd 9. Cleveland 10. Rhea
  2. Cleveland and Brainerd tied. Cleveland had a chance to win with 13 seconds left, but the kid missed the field goal. Hixson won 17-0 over Central. The first play of the game, Swafford broke loose, but he tripped and fell on the 4 yard line. No one was within ten yards. Then on the next play Brent Hayes planted Adam Owens and forced a fumble. Central recovered, but they had absolutely no offense. Their quarterback is big, but has no accuracy with his passes. Highly overrated if you ask me.
  3. Central got killed 17-0 by Hixson in the jamboree at Rhea County. They played one fifteen minute quarter stopping the clock. Central's quarterback was absolutely terrible, and he was supposed to be good. The only Central player that showed anything was Brent Hayes. He's a man. He stopped Adam Owens in his tracks and forced a fumble. Besides him, they're looking like all talk.
  4. Red Bank has no chance. Soddy will steamroll them. I say 38-7 in front of 10,000. Any other guesses on the attendance?? Tom Weathers' return to Red Bank. I can't wait.
  5. 1. Oak Ridge 2. Soddy Daisy 3. William Blount 4. McMinn County 5. Ooltewah 6. Farragut 7. Bradley Central 8. Heritage Oak Ridge is on top until someone can dethrone them. I think Blount will be good, but Soddy squeezes out a win. McMinn and Ooltewah could flip-flop, and the bottom three is up for grabs, but who cares!
  6. Obviously everyone who looks at this post! thumb
  7. I know there are a lot of Ooltewah people on this site, but I would have to say that they have much more to prove than Central this year. Let's win more than three games before we get in too deep.
  8. You Ooltewah people talk about Dalton like you actually keep up with them and know something about them. Give me a break. When October 15th rolls around, we'll see who's a "not so tough" team. thumb
  9. I was at the scrimmage last night and Soddy was completely dominant. Dalton scored on two big plays. One was a quick screen where the defense overran the play, and the other was a deep pass where the corner got burned. Both plays were probably at least 60 yard touchdowns. Besides that, I would say Dalton might have gotten two first downs. The offense sustained two 70 yard drives in the first half to go along with a nice two minute drill that ended in a field goal. The third quarter was played by the younger players and the score was not kept. In the fourth quarter, both teams started out sloppy, with Dalton coughing up a fumble and then Soddy returning the favor with an interception. Soddy got the ball back, and scored their final touchdown with four seconds left on the clock. Final Score: 24-14. Whether Dalton was missing their quarterback or not, Soddy completely dominated this game, and I'm looking forward to week one against Red Bank!
  10. Weather's doesn't mandate lifting? Sure didn't hurt him when he was at Red Bank. Red Bank doesn't have the athletes to compete with Soddy or just about anybody else for that matter. They have two or three good players, but that won't win games for them!
  11. Will Red Bank's stadium hold all of the people that are gonna be at this game? It's the only Thursday game in Chattanooga with Tom Weathers returning to Red Bank as the coach of their biggest rival playing on the field that's named after him? I'm sure this will be interesting.
  12. Soddy Daisy @ Dalton on August 6th
  13. Is there any truth to the rumor that red bank's qb quit for baseball?? He is a good athlete, but he would be better suited as a receiver. He threw a lot of picks last year. I think he played receiver his sophomore year, but i guess they don't have anybody else to play there.
  14. Govman- who are your 2 "most likelys"
  15. I would have to think that recruiters might take a chance on a guy who would set the Giants' speed record, whether he has football skill or not. You can teach a kid to play football, but you can't teach 4.2 speed.
  16. I heard Fabry from Red Bank was quitting to concentrate on baseball. Is this rumor true?? If so, it's possible Red Bank could put up a big goose egg in the win column for the year.
  17. you're full of crap. you don't have anyone that runs a 4.2 40. If there were anyone here that ran that fast they would have every college recruiter drooling over them regardless of their football skill.
  18. Is it just me or was Kellen Pickel really overrated in football last year. I think his skill in basketball and baseball helped him get best of preps and all that. I mean he only had 370 yds. receiving. What do you think?
  19. How is Bradley gonna be this year?
  20. I think the only position the offense is lacking in is tailback. I don't think anyone has put themselves ahead of the pack. Other than that, they return their starting quarterback, a starting reciever, and five or six offensive linemen that saw significant playing time.
  21. Soddy has one Thursday @ 7 vs. Baylor @ Soddy.
