  1. I believe QB Mason is a sophomore and his brother Dylan a senior.
  2. Not worth continuing...sorry you din't make it to the state last year.
  3. I agree with both of these last posts. York didn't seem to ever cover Middlebroo and he ran for touchdowns of 43 and 21 yards and York never seemed to adjust. York also had success running forward but on critical plays, they ran sideways for losses. York has the talent and the players give it their all...with their talent they could easily have been 2nd with DeKalb like the preseason predictions said.
  4. But they did hit the three and they did beat them again in the district tournament and beat JC twice and all the whining in the world doesn't change that. If JC was so great why did they lose to Clarkrange by 10 in the region? PC lost in the championship by 1 to Clarkrange. JC beat Van Buren by 20 and 15. Pickett beat them in the substate 95-65 with the starters out the 4th quarter or they would have scored well over 100. The subs scored only a few points in the 4th quarter. Most people aren't even picking JC for 2nd, they are picking them for 3rd. You know, if pigs had wings they could fly and if JC had won 2 out of three, then they'd be better than PC. But, they didn't.
  5. And was it their "lucky" shots which had them ahead of Middleton almost the entire game? Lucky shots, or a shot from a team which usually had about 10 threes a game, they BEAT JC twice. What ifs don't count. Three All State players to JC's one...
  6. A few plays made a big difference. Twice York had a player free for a pass which most likely would have gone for TDs but slipped out of their hands. Then about 3 times York almost broke runs but the last Upperman player who could catch them did...good Bee defense. When it was 7-7 late in the half a perfect Bee punt put the ball at the one. The first play drove forward but If they got anything it wasn't much. The 2nd play York tried to run around the end but got pushed back into the end zone for a safety. With a short field Upperman scored again. York seemed to be able to go right down the field but would keep stalling around the Bee 30 or 35. Another 4th and 1 and York tried it around the end for a loss again instead of pushing it forward. York couldn't stop the small Bee runner and he made a huge difference in the game. The most annoying thing is the way both teams signal plays. Every play the team stands and looks and looks and finally the posters are held up on the sideline. This cost York a time out when the players waited and waited for the posters and had to call a time out. The Bees got a penalty for delay of game waiting on the posters. Good win for Upperman. They had a drone over the field..."Tennessee recently passed a bill making it a crime to fly an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, commonly known as a “drone,†over large, ticketed public gatherings of 100 or more people, into fireworks displays, or over jails. The law will take effect on July 1st (2015)." Someone from Upperman needs to check the new law. https://bonelaw.com/criminal-drone-laws-take-effect/
  7. Pickett proved otherwise last year when they beat Jackson Co twice out of three to go to the state. Pickett has everyone back and nearly beat unbeaten Middleton in the state...led until 1:56 to go. PC has 3 all-state players to Jackson's one. So, hands down, Pickett has already proven it.
  8. York has good runners including QB Cravens. York upset.
  9. No "single A" Monterey score...wasn't it just 14-7? York would have won against DeKalb Co. and Livingston with just one play in each game. In DeKalb when they were near scoring, a pitch out was called, that hasn't worked often, and they lost 10 yards. In The LA game they went for it 4th and 4 at their own 23 yard line, didn't make it and gave LA an easy TD. Upperman should win but you never know.
  10. No I was not a Saturday morning QB, I was a Friday night QB with 1:39 to go, down by just 2, with the ball on York's own 24 yard line. When it appeared they were going for it on 4th down, everyone knew it was to pull LA offside to get the 1st down. But instead the coach needlessly gambled knowing what would happen if they didn't get it. These players have worked hard and could easily have been 3-3. I very much doubt you would find any coach who would say they would have called that play. And saying this coach needs to not gamble like this IS backing the Dragons.
  11. Of course it matters!!! Have you never watched football before?
  12. I said the decision by the coach to go for it on 4th and 4 at York's own was the gift to Livingston. The team did nothing but play their hearts out and nearly overcame his poor chioce.
  13. The game was late in the 3rd quarter and the score was LA 28 York 26. It was 4th and 4 for York at York's OWN 24 yard line. There was PLENTY of time to catch up but York's coach went for it on 4th and they didn't make it giving LA the ball on the 24 and LA quickly scored to go up 34-26. There was absolutely no reason to go for it on 4th and 4 at their own 24!!! Then York tied it at 34 all, then LA went up 40-34 before York took the lead at 42-40 with 3:09 to go. On a 3rd and 8 for LA, York was called for a horse collar and LA went on to score to win 48-42. But who knows what may have happened if York's coach hadn't given LA that gift TD! The Dragons played hard and nothing should be taken away from their great effort...just another bad call costing them another game.
  14. Yes VB is good for an for East Tennessee team, but East TN isn't strong in girls' bb. VB does have an excellent player who I believe was all state. Pickett beat them 95-65 in the substate with the PC starters out most of the 4th quarter. They easily could have been well over 100 but wouldn't do that to a team. Pickett Co. was 1:56 away from beating Middleton last year at state after leading most of the game. PC has 3 All State players back and a sophomore who is as good as them...she scored 23 points against Middleton at state. Their bench could start for most teams. Pickett Co is deep in talent and very experienced since this group has started since they were freshmen. 2/3rds of their games are on the road this year which will toughen them for the playoffs.
  15. It looks like only 9 home games...even worse than last year. Does anyone know why there are so few home games? I think with the Thanksgiving games and Christmas there are 19 or 20 away games. A lot of the games are far away too. Is it to prepare for the playoffs? Both boys and girls are loaded with the girls most likely the best in the state with 3 all state players back and a sophomore as good as them...and deep in talent.
  16. Upperman..."hater"...what nonsense! I stated an opinion. Where is the hate in that? There are plenty of great QBs in the NFL that are on losing teams. That argument doesn't hold water. I am glad that Tiger fans think their QB is best. I think Cravens is. You don't have to have me as a Jennings fan to validate your opinion.
  17. And Jennings had a more experienced team than Cravens but Craven far outplayed him
  18. When DeKalb played York, York's Mason Cravens had much better stats: Cravens: 174 yards rushing and 386 passing Jennings: 106 yards rushing and 286 passing Head to head, Cravens was a much better player that night in York's 1 point loss.
  19. OK "Dude"...far out, groovey man, I stand corrected. 3 is still better than 20, "Dude"
  20. I forgot to say that York didn't have a single high hike which had been a problem last week. Excellent job! Also DeKalb's QB has been given a lot of praise, which is deserved, but I think York's QB Mason Cravens had a better game...better runs and I think more completions.
  21. Two great comebacks by York fell short, 42-41, tonight. York was down 13-0 but came back to go up 21-13. Then DeKalb scored twice to go up 28-21. They then went up 35-21 but York scored and got the 2 points when they had a player all alone in the end zone...35-29. DeKalb ran the kickoff back to go up 42-29 but then York scored immediately on a long pass to make it 42-35. York scored again to make it 42-41 but missed the extra point. They then recovered an onside kick and went right down the field. With a minute to go they were down close to scoring but who ever called the pitchout killed the momentum. That play hasn't worked all season but for some reason it was called on the most important play of the game. York lost yards. On the next play it looked like they ran it in but the runner stepped out of bounds and they didn't make the 4th down for a 1st. DeKalb took over and were able to hold on for the win. It was a great effort by the Dragons in a game they can be very proud of tonight. i hope someone can add details with the player's names who had the big plays. These two teams are equally matched.
  22. York looked much better last week and if they can keep the snaps down, i think they will pull this one out. That wasted second or two can make a big difference in a play.
  23. Yes our QB Mason Cravens did a great job of pulling them down. It wasn't just a few high snaps but I'd say at least half or more which kept slowing down plays.
  24. York played better this week. White Co is not by any means equal to Stone as someone said. York was within 6 points in the 4th quarter but a pass interference call gave WC a 1st and they ended up scoring. Not many schools would run it up at the end by going for a TD with time running out like White Co did last night. But York used to beat them easily and that time will come again and I hope our coach remembers that last TD. York must have had 80% of their hikes go high and that cost a lot of plays I believe. I hope they get that fixed before next week.
