Great Game. I have to say that this game should not have been as close as it was. This was the most poorly officated game I have EVER witnessed. Obion shot 33 free throws to NS 14. And midway through the 4th quarter its 29 free throws for OC to 7 for NS. Something about that is just wrong. But I will let it go at that. Good luck to Obion in Memphis. Great Job LadyIndians. Everyone come out and let's fill the Reservation.

Also Dudley had 10 of her 27 points from the free throw line. I was told that GC had shot 18 free throws to NS's 2 midway through the 4th quarter. Then GC had to start fouling more so that made the free throws a little more even. NS ended up shooting 13 to GC's 22. NS did a great job on Dudley defensively. She is a great player and I wish her the best in her college years. Union is a great Basketball school.

NS would be happy to schedule them. They tried to schedule or atleast pre-season scrimmage this year, Westview, GC, and Milan, but no one would. Milan would not even return numerous phone calls. NS will play anyone that they can schedule.

How can someone from Milan pull against Coach Lowery. He is a Milan native and up until the last couple of years Milan didn't have anyone with a winning record in girls' basketball except him from the 80's on. Where is your loyalty surely not with GC!

So are you saying that you think Russell is a better coach than Lowery? I guess we will see. Both of these coaches have ALOT of history. They go back to some great games between Bradford and Milan.

Is anyone broadcasting tonights Region 7 games between Westview-Covington and Haywood-Obion Co?

Everyone is talking about 13AA being SO strong. Last night NS had a terrible game and Haywood had probably one of their best. But the Lady Indians still managed to come out on top. Good teams always find a way to win. Also 13AA you haven't played many defensive teams as good as NS and Haywood. Go 14AA, show them they have something to be VERY afraid of. NS isn't 26-1 because they are a weak team.

Money cannot be donated to the school system for a particular school. But it can be donated to the booster club of a particular school and designated for a certain use. The "Step children" of Jackson Madison County School system, North Side and South Sid, know to well that they cannot get "ANY" money for anything. It all goes to Liberty, Madison and now a new JCM. When has anyone been to NS or SS lately and had a look around. Pitiful facilities. Parents are stretched way to thin to try and continually keep these schools going.

Thanks for that vote of confidence. Jackson North Side could be in the position where Westview is. Don't make your reservations just yet Westview. Jackson North Side is not completely out of the picture.

This is a great prediction. It would be great to have two schools from the same region in the State finals. However, Region 7 is loaded with many Great teams. Anyone could win on any night. Let's just hope this prediction comes true. Go Lady Indians.

Can someone explain how this has anything to do with 13AA tournament schedule?

Yes USJ is private. Lots of money at this school. They lost several key players last year. It will be very interesting to see who they have gained, one way or another, and how some of the younger players develop. They have been A but moved up to AA. They have struggled at every other sport this year so we will see just how good they are going to be going up against the Ripley's, Covington's, Milan's, Lexington's etc.

Jackson North Side is the Reservation also. But that is for all sports. The campus is actually called the Reservation.

NS coach is also the Offensive Coordinator for the Football team. They are in the process of ending "Spring" football this week in order to get baseball rolling on Monday the 13th.

I don't think that girls have the same endurance that boys have. If you have noticed there seems to be alot more knee injuries than there was in the past. I think this is from the girls be over played and over practiced. I also agree that kids need to have time to be kids.

I had never heard of a bracket like that either. Someone else told us that. I guess trying to keep anyone from the other district from scouting. Like it wouldn't be in the paper anyway. Thanks for the info.

How are the brackets setup for your District. Does 1 automatically get a bye. Does 2 play 3, 4 play 5 and 6 play 7. Has your brackets been determined as to who will play on what nights.

Coach Farris Lowery's record speaks for itself. No matter the level of talent, he seems to ALWAYS manage a winning season. Losing 4 starters from last year, the level of Brooks and Penn, is tremendous to be able to achieve what he has. My vote is for Coach Lowery.

I really hope that North Side and Westview get to meet in the Regionals. This should be a great game.

We have dealt with it for the last 4 to 5 years. It used to be USJ, USJ, USJ, now it is Liberty and Madison. But that is OK. Just venting a little. We are just going to continue to play our GAME.

Could someone please explain to me the lack of press that the Lady Indians from NorthSide seem to get. Current the Lady Indians from North Side are 18-1. No one knows that except for the Ladies from North Side. Week after Week the Jackson Sun never gives them the recognition they so rightly deserve. This is a program that has to deal with this year after year. The only way to get any press or publicity is when there is the possibility that they think they may get beat., Then when they do win, Nothing is said about it. Our ladies have learned to live with this over the past few years. Give those schools the press that don't make it to the boro. I am here to say "Great Job" NorthSide Ladies Indians.
