King of Landers

Cherokee is 4-A, not 5-A. They are pretty decent for this area, but not as good as Region 2; 1A. I guarantee Greenback and Coalfield could beat Cherokee. And no, we shouldn't have been there, but thats just the way the cookie crumbles. Sometimes you have to take back that which was given. Now the boys must prepare for these next 3 games of more important significance. Two big wins over Jellico and Cosby should give the boys the confidence to take down Unaka and still reign as conference champions. These guys can still pull out a winning season, but they must stick together and work hard. Nothing comes easy in the game of life.

This game will be close, but I think East has too much offense and Betsy don't. It's been proven that Betsy can't score very well, but they play tough defense. They will hold East to 14 pts. but will only muster 6 themselves. East 14 Ole Betsy 6

Until Unaka beats Cloudland its dumb to rank them above them, but hey, Mike Lunsford told me he always liked being ranked last. The critics around here are ignorant on the game of football. And Ranger06, I meant that lizzybethton has twice the enrollment. Don't insult the King's intelligence.

Unaka football will never be good enough to go deep in the playoffs. First off, there are too many baby-faced kids that ain't tough enough to play against the big boys. Secondly, the coaching staff looks like a bunch of couch-potatoes that don't know the price it takes to win, and they don't have the brains to run a complex offense. Thirdly, most of the creekers are as dumb as ole Calhoun here! Lastly, you all will be your own worst enemy.

I'll bet that East takes down Elizabethton. What do you think of that? East is 4-0, and Ole betsy is 1-3 while East is averaging 46 pts. a game. Betsy and East beating Cloudland is'nt saying much this year, so don't make yourself look stupid by bragging about that. East will beat Betsy.

Avery has one of their best teams in a long time. Mike and Darryl will have a heck of a program. For Daniels question, I've been around Cloudland athletics since 1989, and I can count the number of Avery transfers on one hand thats ever started for Cloudland. Buchanun, Cooper, Hicks, Storie, and Jones. There you have it. I've got all the proof in the world. You should be glad that you all got a couple of transfers in. Every school gets transfers every now and then. Its amazing when a program is so successful, that everybody says they are recruiting instead of working their butts off. Tim Clipse, Mark Byrd, and Dakota Benfield were the best players ever at Cloudland and are Roan Mt. born and raised.

I've whipped every Unaka ranger that ever went against me. All-American J.J. Brewer was whipped by a Cloudland line that averaged 190lbs. So don't tempt the king to separate the men from the boys! Don't let these kiddy kids get to you, John. The only thing they've ever hurt is their thumb playing those stupid play stations. You guys from Unaka should have seen Jordan Buck running the ball against Happy Valley the other night. I guarantee Bill and Buck will run through the Unaka defense all night long. The Cyclones are the best in the county, but they should be every year. The fact that Cloudland has been the best the last few years should embarrass Elizabethton. They have over twice the enrollment. I say Elizabethton boys just don't have the heart that Roan Mt. boys have.

I hope everybody's fooled by that 8-0 win, cause Cloudland was lot better than North Greene. They piled up over 300 yards of offense in a tropical storm to North Greene's 62. Cherokee is not as good as Sullivan East, so I don't expect no big blow out. You Cloudland players just go out there and earn your respect. When conference time rolls around, we'll see who's still the boss around here! I think we've established a new runner in Bill Johnson. When Horney returns this will be a good 1-2 punch.

with Cloudland down this year, I will be pulling for Coalfield to win it all. I remember playing against Matthew Breeden and Andy Lowe. Coalfield is one heck of a football program.

I can understand why people are upset, but no one should bash a man thats done a lot for Cloudland football. I remember when Lunsford and Keith worked their butts off over the summer building the new concession stands and announcing booths. I have a lot of memories of both coaches. I remember as a 14 year old boy, the new fire I had never felt before to accomplish something. Mike give me that motivation. He is a great motivator. Keith was very knowledgable in running the defensive backs and recievers in practice, but Lunsford ran the football team on Friday nights. His decisions have won a lot of games. The whole coaching staff was instrumental in getting the program to championship status. I've seen kids come in with all the talent in the world, but they had no discipline until the coaches taught them discipline. People, it takes everybody to make a good football team. You all need to get over the fact that he left. It was his choice. We've had bad seasons before and he stayed, but this time he felt the need to move on. Please stop bashing the man.
