  1. Other than that, I agree with Middletonfan35. The Sun really doesn't cover that area of West Tennessee very well. When the Sun does run a story about a team from another town playing a Jackson school (i.e. Peabody girls vs. USJ on the front page of the Sun following the championship game), the stories can tend to be slanted toward the Jackson school. After the horrible tragedy of the death of Sarah Beth Whitehead (and I absolutely mean no disrespect, for her death was so very untimely) I knew the Sun would either say her death propelled the Lady Bruins to victory or be the reason they were mentally drained and did not win, which is what the Sun did. I thought it kind of took away from the achievement of the Lady Tide, but it is really tough to say that after the loss of a teenager, and I realize some people may be offended - that is truly not my point. I am just saying the Sun is going to tell a story from a Jackson school perspective. They did do a nice job in the sports section on Peabody's win, and the pictorials on the backs of the sports sections after both tournaments were nicely done. However, BlackSunshine does have a point about the advertising aspect. We have to remember the Sun is a business and not bound to cater to anyone except its bottom line.
  2. Okay, I have got to say it. I am so sick of seeing people use the word LOOSE for the word LOSE. I know, I know, I know, I am being picky - BUT it is driving me nuts. Good grief, read your posts before you put them on here!!!!! A team either WINS or LOSES. It does not LOOSE a game. In fact, teams that are feeling a little LOOSE usually do not LOSE.
  3. I owe you a sincere apology. It is not a vendetta, just that I hate to see someone who is a good man (It is not my position to say whether or not he is a good coach) be desparaged. Please accept my apology, and I will not ASSume in the future.
  4. I am a white male who is a fan of Peabody sports and in a way affiliated with Clint Sisco and Peabody. Because of my ethnicity, I can assure you that I have heard many jokes and rude comments in my lifetime regarding young African American men and women. I can also assure you that Clint Sisco has never said anything or done anything that I know of that could be construed as derogatory toward a black student or athlete. In fact, Clint is very complementary of his basketball players as well as other students in the school, regardless of color. The ones on this string who are insinuating otherwise are doing so for a reason. First of all, Tidepride has a son that plays on the team and has been benched. His is what some coaches might refer to as a disease or a cancer, for even the kids say that he does nothing but break down the body of the team with innuendo and spiteful talk. Tidepride would love to see Sisco leave Trenton, but he is incorrect if he thinks some other person will play his son next year, for he will be an upperclassmen, and there will be at least two sophomores and for sure one freshman who could easily take his place. Robert Yancey and Rafael Miller are already better than several of the upperclassmen, as evidenced by their playing time while the older boys sit on the bench. Preston Fields, younger brother of Dex Fields, will be a freshman next year, and would easily start for many programs in the west tennessee area. Rossi Jones, another soon to be freshman, has a larger and stronger body than anyone who is a sophomore or junior at this time. Therefore, the playing days of a kid who is a troublemaker and not very good to begin with are for certain numbered. giggleyfly likewise has an ax to grind, but identifying it would identify him, and i want to be as cordial as I can. I can understand questions about a coaches play calling or his line-up decisions, but to accuse a man of racism and desparage his name is unacceptable and WHOEVER IS MODERATING THIS STRING SHOULD HAVE SAID SOMETHING ABOUT IT.
  5. Partee didn't play cause he can't act right in school and was suspended.
  6. I hope my post doesn't cause a STORM. I am just pointing out what many involved with the program would gladly tell you.
  7. Tidepride is mad because the person in his family on Peabody's team isn't getting a lot of attention. The coach is more than equitable in his treatment of all of his players, and, unlike many other coaches, chose to put up with Tidepride's family member when many others would not have. His posts are tainted with a huge bias against the coach for personal reasons.
  8. As I said, it was my misunderstanding. Thanks and I apologize.
  9. I am confused, so I it is possible the misunderstanding is on my part. However, I must ask if you think that Trenton Peabody is a private school? If you do not think that, it seems that your post is misplaced, for the whole string has been about Lake County and Peabody. Peabody is the name of the public high school in Trenton, and the Doaks family has been in Trenton for decades. The school name comes from the Peabody family, which donated money for education across the country and especially in the South.
  10. I am close with the Trenton football program, and I will say this. Milan would definitely beat the mess out of West Carroll. Nothing against WC, they are one tough bunch. However, at this time of year, the true Milan really does begin to come out, and they would be unstoppable against a team like WC.
  11. Humboldt will win this game by 16. I know some of you think that is crazy, but I just have a feeling. Humboldt's defensive line will shut down the game between the tackles, and they have enough speed to catch anything that gets bounced to the outside. Milan does not have a Donald on the team, and Walker tends to exaggerate his injuries when the game is not going Milan's way.

Does anyone know where I can go to start a string to whine and complain? Eatdirt, what is the purpose of this string? Seriously?!!
  13. The Tide has had it rough, but has fought hard in each game. I believe they are about to surprise someone.
  14. Mr. Goodwrench, I am not even from Milan, and I have to say that I really despise the purple dawgs. However, they are just plain good and have developed that attitude that continues to breed success. Luck has very little to do with it. Ricky Goff, last years fullback, did not need luck when he continually punished those he literally ran over. It is all attitude and mindset accompanied with some very good athletes.
