Although I didn't know either one of the girls, a Pioneer alumnus is keeping both families and the student body and faculty at Crockett in my prayers. During my tenure at the school, we went through what was dubbed by the media as a 'Crockett Curse' in which five members of the class of 1995 never had the chance to make it to graduation. That was in my class alone. We had lost others of our student body in the classes before and after mine. This was a tragic accident that no one should have to go through. To the families, no words I could say could comfort you in this time of sorrow and grief. To the student body, stay strong and remember and think of Courtney the way she was Friday night, happy and beautiful. To the faculty, I hate that you must again set aside your own grief over one of your students and help yet another student body cope with such a tragedy. May God be with all of you. Again, I will pray for the whole community. With much love.

Elizabethton gets to play at Joe O'Brien field whichis where the E-Twins, Appy League, plays at. A nice minor league setup.

I know that ETSU and Milligan College both offer a varity of camps from elementary, middle and high school ages and for boys and girls. They usually post info on thier websites.

Unaka won, don't remember the score. UH won over Cloudland, 51-41.

The Region 1-A bracket is incorrect. Clouldand (No. 4) plays Washburn (No. 1). North Greene (No. 3) is playing Hancock County (No. 2).

Cloudland did beat Boone, but Boone is not in 1-A. Non-Con game.

Hey 17...since you are leaving anyway, maybe you can answer this for me. Is the officiating getting worse or what? I know that no game is ever called perfect but I have seen some doozies over the past two months, i.e., calls called wrong, calls not called when they should have been. Do you have to have a minimum IQ of less than 75 or something to where a striped shirt? Thought you could share some insight on the matter. I know you probably wish you didn't get the call last night but good for you for telling him how to do his job if he is too dumb to notice a player hurt on the floor. You are going to be missed.

I figured that it would be a cat fight after last week's game. Did the game stay night for four quarters? I hate I missed it. I am sure that it was as good to watch as it was last week.

The Lady Landers defeated TN High 78-71. For those of you that left early, you missed the game of the tourney...craziest game I have seen in a while.

FYI-Strong went 4-8 at the boards, 2-5 outside, 5 assists with 4 rebounds. Tim Smith and Brad Nuckles both went down with injuries so Strong played 30 min. 3rd straight NCAA appearance in 2005!!!!! thumb Hope Timmy and Brad get better before Fresno

I am looking forward to Hampton moving down next year. 1A needs to be more competitive. I think it will help Hampton not having to get sacrificed to Alcoa and it will increase the power of Unaka and Cloudland when there is at least three good teams in the conference. Sorry Jellico and Cosby but those games don't help anybody in 1A when it comes to playoffs. I am looking forward to it. Hey KRich, can you imagine what we would do in the offseason if we didn't have basketball and baseball/softball to keep us occupied? Scary thought....
