What happened to Lafayette,MS? Did Lafayette opt out to play ECA?

The only game they MIGHT HAVE lost would've been the rematch with Maryville in the state semi-finals. Besides that, yes, they would've won state in 6A......this year.

Playing OOS games is absolutely the way to go. If you don't care about a little national exposure then stay in-state. Personally, I'm happy to see teams travel and play new teams in new places. I think it is a great experience for the young kids. It appears MC was slightly overrated. They got rocked at the Nike TOC. In addition to the 3 aforementioned games they also got beat by Monarch and St. Mary's. It looks like a 1-4 showing. There won't be any national rankings for them this year.

What!? McKinley isn't going to return the favor and bring it down to TN?

How is MUS going to be next year? Will they be able to compete with SP and OB? I really respect the way MUS takes on top OOS comp. You mentioned a possible third OOS match-up? E. St.Louis is not too terribly far to travel for either team. That game has potential.....

Not a bad idea. I like the 4 class route. TN just simply doesn't have enough teams for 6 classes.

I hear S.Panola needs a couple games next year. Everybody's scared to play them. They won't be as strong next year, so it should be a good test for you guys. "Hey uh?" Real nice, brainchild. You didn't go 7-1 against those top teams. You went 1-1 against BA. Alcoa has had a badass team, but you haven't been able to prove it against the other TOP DII(AA) teams.

Very good DSM. You see on Rivals we talk about national implications. To get those kind of implications you actually have to step up and play some tough teams from around your region(OOS). I'm keeping it simple on these boards for you, but if you want to talk on a national scale I'm afraid I am out of your league. If you want to start a national debate....bring it! I'll put you to shame! I'm just trying to pump up TN football, but you guys don't want anything to do with it. That is why I favor the DII schools most of the time. They actually step up and play OOS!!!! Why don't you get on the Rivals board and debate with us? What's your handle? Are you scared, or do you just simply don't have the knowledge? I love Alcoa and Maryville for TN. They are the best two teams in TN right now and they should be representing. That is what most of you guys don't seem to grasp! I'm laying it out for you right now. I'm argueing for you nationally!! It's there for the taking. Grab it by the horns and go with it! I'm trying to lay the groundwork for future games......you just have to grab it and roll with it. Guys like yourself have influence....USE IT!!!! I will donate money personally to help the cause(and I'm poor!). That is how much I love TN football......do you?

That classless response was directed at GoddardField who had told me to shut up in a derogatory manner. I'm sorry I hurt your feelings, but I'm not on these boards to appease your sensibilities. You're a grown man, act like one. The only critcal complaint I have had for Alcoa/Maryville is that they don't play anyone. Now, they will be playing some better comp the next couple of years. Maybe the next step will be to play top regional teams. That is all I have been preaching. Alcoa/Maryville are the best teams in TN right now and all I want them to do is show it. Is that too much to ask for? BTW, I am not necessarily a DII guy. I just respect them because their teams have actually stepped up and taken on the tough comp to represent TN. These other DII posters must have more patience then I do. I am trying to be civil with you.

Yeah, Alcoa has a good record against Div II, but it against teams that are no better than McCallie. McCallie has been an average team. If they had a 7-1 record against the likes of MBA,MUS,BA, and Ensworth then you could talk about it. So, I think you need to shut the F up!!

Hey, BS!! Try a home and home series on for change. Also, stop playing punchless teams from KY when you do play OOS. It's a good thing you're not playing last year's MUS team. That one could get ugly.......

Good post. I don't think MBA would've beaten Maryville or Alcoa the last two years. I do,however, believe that MUS would've beaten both of them handily last year. As far as the OOS match-ups are concerned, I have been preaching that for months now. No one in Blount County seems to understand that it will help ALL of TN football if they do. Div II already represents us well. It is high time that the two best public schools do the same. Based on the responses I have received I tend to believe they are all content with just playing eachother every year in their BC bowl. At least this is a step forward for the both of them. I just wonder why a home and home wasn't offered?

Kansas is almost as bad as Indiana. Every team makes the playoffs. Kind of makes the regular season meaningless.

Alcoa will be a powerhouse again next year, like they are every year. Webb is scrappy, but they won't be able to hang with Alcoa. 31-14 sounds about right, maybe worse. Kudos to the Spartans for stepping up, though. Now, MBA/Maryville will be more competitive. I just wish Ensworth or BA would've stepped up. After the next two years are Alcoa and Maryville going to make return trips to Nashville to play MBA at their place?

Moving back to 3 or 4 classes would be ideal. TN just doesn't have enough teams to warrant 8 classes. Have the privates play in the top class. I think that would be great. That is what I have been preaching for years now. If Maryvile/MBA is really going to happen, I can't wait for that one.
