I think Cosby will beat Unaka, too. But that'll be a HUGE game for either team because the loser of that one is gonna have to make a 3 hour (minimum) trek to a Region 2 team's school.

The rivalry is no more? Dang, this was one of the best ones in East TN. And this coming from a Coalfield fan! LC's school system should be ashamed of themselves for pulling the plug on this great rivalry.

Don't put the cart ahead of the horse because for all you know, it could be COALFIELD in the semis with South Pitt getting put out in the 3rd round. I apprecaite the fact that you have faith in the local football team, but the fact of the matter is South Pitt isn't going to be able to beat FCS. Heck, I don't think ANYONE will beat FCS.

It'll come out of Region 4, 5, or 7. I think South Pitt will at least get to the 3rd round but there is no way they're beating FCS. All roads to the state title, in all likelihood lead through Region 4. As for the Silverdale win over Midway last year, what people don't mention is the fact that Midway turned the ball over at least six times in that game and you ain't gonna beat anyone if you turn the ball over like that. Now if Silverdale beats them again this year, then it proves their win was no fluke. I'll admit that much.

It's nothing personal, it just bothers me when, in some cases, on this site you see people with really long, rambling run-on sentences to where you can't understand what they're trying to say. So EXCUSE ME for offending you. I was just trying to rib OS a little bit since they've done an ever-so-good (note sarcasm) job of ripping on us. All good points but allow me to clarify some things. 1.) North Greene (for the time being anyway) is no longer a 1a team. In fact, they're a 2a team now. 2.) I'll admit Greenback is a pretty weak team now. However, Midway's always a playoff contender, Sunbright is on the cusp of returning to their glory days from back in the late 90's to the early part of this millennium, and Oneida has improved an awful lot and has the defense to give ANYBODY fits. Our region isn't quite as weak as people make it out to be. 3.) The beatings you gave Coalfield were MANY moons ago and I think if the two teams played now, it would be a very interesting game. But the way the regions are drawn up, unless Coalfield was to ever schedule South Pitt in the regular season (which I wouldn't mind seeing.), then it'll be a while before they ever play again.

Oh South Pitt will make a statement, alright... and that statement is their region is nothing but cupcakes. So once you get done wiping the frosting off your faces at the end of the regular season, you'll (gasp) have to play some tough teams. Then we'll see how "great" you are.
