Alrighty, I'm done on this thread for now. I guess I got carried away because I'm a pretty passionate Coalfield fan and I don't like hearing us get accused of things we didn't do wrong. So continue on... we'll see who is the better team Friday.

Rumors that Jim Beam, Jose Cuervo, and Captain Morgan were going to be assistant coaches are unconfirmed at this time. (Sorry, the headline kinda left itself open to that.)

And another thing, don't you DARE try to insinuate Coalfield cheats when for all we know, Hampton probably deliberately injured Goins because they knew they couldn't win without him. The said player was allowed to play because he moved to the Coalfield school district and when you do that on your own free will, there's nothing that can be done, no matter how much somebody whines and cries about it like YOU have Pujo.

I am so tired of the allegations that Coalfield recruits. Do the people that come up with that bunk realize how stupid that sounds. In all practicality, what would there be in Coalfield to recruit to? A job at IGS or LB's Restaurant? Face the facts, Coalfield is a very good academic school and there is a lot more to offer to the school than football.

I've heard of a variety of places recruiting him, one being Vanderbilt (which seems to be where a lot of great East TN backs have gone.), I know Carson-Newman has heavily recruited him, and I've also heard Maryville, TN Tech, and MTSU are recruiting him. I may be in the minority but I'd like to see him at Carson-Newman because I think he'd fit in pretty well there.

I can see one thing from this thread already, Mr. Pujo is already talking out both sides of his mouth. Praises Coalfield in one post and the next does his whole "HAMPTON IS GREATER THAN SLICED BREAD, ICE CREAM, AND STYROFOAM COOLERS" spiel.

If you want to get any good seats, I'd advise getting there EARLY, probably about 5-ish, to get a good seat on the visitor side.. which probably means you'll have to leave at about 10 or 11 in the morning because it was a pretty long trip to Hampton last year for us and I'm sure the NE TN fans are gonna be in for a LOOOONG drive.

I'd like to say Coalfield will have a tough boys basketball team but they haven't had a REAL good team in over 5 years. They have a good coach, they just don't get any of their good players until after football season and by then they're usually in trouble.

Even if Townsend's ready to go, he won't be 100% because I highly doubt you can be healed that quick from a broken leg (or ankle or whatever it was). Should be a pretty good ballgame Friday night.

Hampton has a pretty diverse offense and Coalfield is gonna have to be on their toes to respect the pass and rushing game. But Coalfield's D has stepped up every time they needed to and I don't think Friday is gonna be ANY different. It's gonna be, as a certain commentator for that wrestling company in Connecticut says, a real "slobber-knocker". Coalfield- 21 Hampton- 14

Well, I think this game COULD go either way because Gordonsville is a pretty tough team year in and year out, but with that said, I don't know if they'll figure out a way to contain South Pitt's speed. If G'ville can do that, then they WILL win this game, but I don't know if they can do that, so... I'm gonna lean slightly toward South Pitt in this one... only for them to get beat by FCS in the 2nd round.

Bishop, the game's not for 3 more days. If it wasn't so far away to South Pitt this might be a worthwhile game to catch because it could go either way. Personally, I think South Pitt will win but I hope G'ville does just to shut South Pitt up the rest of the season.

That's just the way the districts are drawn at times. In TN, there are (or at least were) some 5 team districts and I recall Cosby and Jellico both getting in with 1-9 records. Needless to say they got killed in the 1st round. There should be a 3 win minimum in order to make the playoffs but there's some years where it can't be avoided.

Harriman should win this game because I highly doubt they'll take Unaka lightly. I WILL give Unaka some credit where credit's due, Coalfield admittedly took them too lightly last year and very well could have lost the game. That said, I don't see Harriman taking Unaka lightly in the least bit. Harriman- 28 Unaka- 13

Well, I admit what I said was uncalled for and looking back, I shouldn't have said that and if I could go back and take back what I wrote, I would. I, in no way, meant for that to sound so harsh. I realize Townsend is to Hampton what BD is to Coalfield. So to all the Hampton fans, I do apologize for my remarks because they were uncalled for and I took it way too far. I guess I just snapped and I can only hope you accept my apology. Because believe me, if Coalfield does get Hampton in the 3rd round, we do want Townsend healthy so we can be presented a true test for the Coalfield rush defense. So I officially bury the hatchet and offer my apologies.

Ok, maybe I shouldn't have been quite so harsh but I am so tired of hearing about Adam Townsend this and Adam Townsend that. You claim he's not your whole team yet you go around singing his praises like he is Jesus Christ, Santa Claus, and the Easter Bunny all rolled into one. Adam Townsend is NOT god... no matter how much you make him out to be. He is not your whole team either... no matter how bad you wish he was. You've got two opportunities to prove me wrong and you have my word that if Hampton does make it to the 3rd round, I will publically post an apology to all the Hampton faithful and admit I'm wrong.

I have it on good authority the person Wartburg is gonna hire is much worse than Davis... Ronnie Trout. He was a joke as a coach his first go-round and all he is is a Davis puppet. I suggest to disgruntled Wartburg alumni you become very vocal AGAINST the potential hire and make your voices heard and shell out as much money as it takes to get Jay Moore back at Wartburg. I don't care if it takes hundreds of thousands of dollars to get Moore, but I'm sick of feeling sorry for Wartburg because the coaching staff they have now obviously doesn't care.

When I turn out to be right, I'm gonna say "I told you so"!

I'm calling it right now, Hampton DOES NOT get out of the 2nd Round. So the love affair with Adam Townsend on this board should hopefully end for good because you Hampton people ain't gonna get to see him in the 3rd round because you'll be sitting at home!
