I don’t know if it would be considered an upset but I like Cleveland in this game after seeing both teams play live. This is going to be a very good football game.

The last 2 weeks have been rough but also take into consideration who we played with Cleveland and WV. Cleveland just had better athletes and WV well they beat Cleveland earlier. Both teams were very good teams. A win Friday for Rhea could mean a home playoff game and if mcminn wins it’s a step closer to a region championship and a home playoff game. There is a lot riding on this game for both teams.

Been waiting on this old rivalry to get renewed. Weather is looking fantastic next Friday. Cleveland won’t have to worry about any rain this time. Cleveland is coming off an impressive win against a pretty good Farragut squad after dropping one to little brother Walker Valley. Rhea did what they need to do against Howard, but we still need to get healthier. I just wish both Rhea and Cleveland would have been undeafeated coming into this game.

It’s going to turn things into the Wild West if it is anything like that is going on West Virginia. They have a one time transfer rule. They can transfer anywhere for any reason without moving. They can still transfer after the one transfer but they would have to have a change in residence. After reading the TFP article. It’s already happening in a way but this will potential open the door for a lot of others to transfer. They are right when talking about facilities, uniforms, and exposure. Kids see that and want that just like at the college level. I know it’s affected Rhea where we now have a renovated stadium, indoor practice facility, turf field, and 2 or 3 weight rooms on campus.

The big one that sticks out in my mind is the 4th and goal on the 1 and not going with the QB sneak. That is staple in Pemberton’s offense and usually gets atleast a few yards when we run it. I’ll give credit to Central’s line they are pretty good but in that situation let Carr and the O-line get the yard.

Well hard fought game but goodness it was very sloppy. Thank goodness next week is Howard. Central made two or three more key plays and that was the difference. Kind of scratching my head on a few things but it’s a non-region game, so hopefully the guys get healed up for Howard.

I see Alcoa winning this one by a few scores. Tottenville had kind of down year last year by looking at the last few years. They definitely stepped up the non league play this year.

Nope not one bit. He is a great athlete and has a ton of potential but his attitude really hurts him. His mouth has cost us so many penalties that really hurt the team in quite a few games. What college wouldn’t want an athlete that is 6’2 and can run a sub 4.4? However, it takes more than that to be successful at the next level. I wish him the best at Bradley, and it was probably best that he found a new home. Since he lost the QB job mid season last year and would not have been the QB this year at Rhea. As far as the game Maryville is Maryville whether they are inexperienced or not, they just know how to win. I’ve seen it first hand many times.

I think McMinn wins this one by 2 or 3 scores. Tyner lost so much from last years team. I think they win once region play starts but their non-region schedule is just brutal

I’ll take the inexperienced Rebels that avg 58 pts in this one, As good as the SE TN all-star team is Maryville will control the line of scrimmage for the win.

Should be a few really good running backs featured in this game between Knox Central’s Frank Johnson IV and Rhea Co’s triple headed monster of Ethan Davis, Cam Potts and Hunter Crowe. Central will be looking to bounce back from the beat down handed out by Maryville and Rhea will look to continue the momentum of a good start in non-region play.

The ref called targeting in the Rhea vs Red Bank game last night. In real time I don’t think it was targeting, but that’s the thing without instant replay it’s hard to make those calls. Especially when it’s a bang bang play when the safety/CB is coming across to breakup the route. As far as targeting the knee, yes that needs to be a rule. I mean we have fouls for chop blocks and clipping to help protect knees so it makes sense to have targeting for knees.
