That game was just an absolute defensive battle. Red Bank won the game by throwing a backwards pass on the kick off after Rhea had kicked a field goal to go up 3-0. They literally returned it I believe it was 97 yds for a touchdown with hardly no time remaining on the clock. Great game if you like defense. As for this game Red Bank has a pretty solid defense, they are a very athletic group. I heard they made a change at QB sometime after playing Rhea and has had some success on offense since the change. Even with that said Anderson should win this game but Red Bank has a good enough defense to keep it close for alittle bit. I could see Anderson winning this one by 2 or 3 TDs. -
Chad has done a good job at Sayre. He started that program from scratch. If he comes back to Knoxville that would be a big get for Webb. I’m not sure he will leave Sayre but you never know. His son will have a good shot at winning the starting QB job at Marshall next fall.

Revenge Game Powell vs Walker Valley
Rhea Co. replied to keepitmoving's topic in Class 5A & Class 6A
WV has been so up and down this year. If the good WV team shows up and plays pretty good I think they will stick around for a half. If the bad WV teams shows up Powell names the score. Either way though Powell wins the game but WV band will win halftime -
Interesting Powell and West together in Region 2 now.

Well for almost 3 qts we kept it respectable just let it get away at the end of the third. Looking forward to next season bringing back all but 6 seniors. Thank you Seniors for the 4 great years. Good luck to the wildcats. Well on to basketball season. Which I think we might have some success this year with Crowder back as HC.

Scheduling - local teams not playing one another
Rhea Co. replied to eers's topic in Class 5A & Class 6A
I would love for Rhea to play Oak Ridge more regularly. For me personally I live in Oak Ridge, less than a mile from Blankenship so that would be great. I’d like to see Cleveland back on the schedule but I doubt that will happen anytime soon, after the fiasco there a few years back -
Scheduling - local teams not playing one another
Rhea Co. replied to eers's topic in Class 5A & Class 6A
This an interesting topic in general. I know in the past Chattanooga/Hamilton County public Schools have been encouraged to schedule other Hamilton County schools before going outside the area. Which is fine to contain costs, help gates, and build up rivals. However, I think it may have cost us scheduling Soddy Daisy since the dropped to 4A.We had play Soddy like 28 years in a row before this past scheduling cycle. I know Rhea has had to look to out of state in the last 5-10 years. To fill the schedule with games against Cathedral out of Indianapolis, Tuscola out of Western North Carolina and we were going to go to Corbin Ky before scheduling Alcoa. -
Here is all the teams that would qualify for a bowl game Gleason 1A 5-5 Marion Co. 2A 5-5 Oak Haven 2A 5-5 Lawrence Co 4A 6-4 Crockett Co 4A 6-4 Clinton 5A 5-5 Station Camp 5A 6-4 Cleveland 6A 6-4 Siegel 6A 5-5 Whitehaven 6A 5-5 So Maybe Marion vs Lawrence Gleason vs Oak Haven Clinton vs Cleveland Station Camp vs Siegel Whitehaven vs Crockett Co.

Round 1 Powell (8-2) vs Ooltewah (1-9)
Rhea Co. replied to Knoxvegas865's topic in Class 5A & Class 6A
Plow by as many as they want. -
It’s tomorrow Friday night. It was originally scheduled for Thursday but they switched it back to Friday. It’s a 7 central kick-off. Yeah we will see how tomorrow goes, if I’m not mistaken Rhea has never loss to Coffee Co.
-
Lol Well we may break it out against Oak Ridge in the first round if you all beat Campbell this Friday.
-
Yeah I think 20 of Bradley’s 30 came off turnovers. It may even been 23 points off turnovers. You can’t win turning the ball over like that. Well on to Coffee.
-
The blocked field goal was just an athletic play on Bradley’s part. We have got to clean up the penalties in the 2nd half and keep possession of the ball. Otherwise the defense is playing pretty good and they can’t stop Ethan Davis again this year.

What is TSSAA district tiebreakers for a 3 way tie?
Rhea Co. replied to REBELFAN70's topic in Class 5A & Class 6A
Also remember once the first tie between the three or more teams is broken the process starts all over again -
Rhea and McMinn will stay down in the Chattanooga area. Now Franklin Co I could see them in the Chattanooga area if they wanted to. It wouldn’t really be any different then when White Co was in the region with Rhea

They have officially released the breakdown of classifications https://cms-files.tssaa.org/documents/tssaa/2022-23/2023classification.html#di-football

We lost a very experienced offensive line from last year and we have been hit by injuries all year with our starting running backs and full backs. On defense we took a hit on the line as well plus we lost a good chunk of the secondary to graduation so we have been playing a bunch of sophomores and freshmen this year. I think we only lose 2 or 3 starters from this team. Then again the senior class only has like 6 or 7 total on the team.
-
Last year Rhea stunned Bradley with a dominant game by Ethan Davis. This it would be an even bigger upset if Rhea were to win on Senior night. With the change at the QB position last week, Carr looked good going 8 of 8 and Kaleb Martin at WR now gives the team a different look but a nice weapon at WR. Don’t know if we can get over the hump this week but a win would be a big boost heading toward the playoffs
-
Overall yes I think Region 3 will take 3 out of 4 of the first round match-ups. I think McMinn is the only team that has a chance to make some noise. Ooltewah will get blasted by Powell. Oak Ridge will handle Rhea this year, especially since they are getting healthy. Karns vs Walker Valley could be good depending on which WV team shows up. McMinn should beat Campbell Co.
-
If McMinn plays like they are capable of yeah they should win this one by 14. However if they turn the ball over and WV shows up to play like they did at Rhea, WV could make this one interesting
-
I was impressed by Carr. He looks like a smaller version of his brother. I agree once we learn how to win watch out. We are so close but we just can’t quite get over the hump. Got to and should beat Howard next week that way we can secure our trip to Oak Ridge or Karns for the first round.
