  1. Styles & Wilson aren't playing basketball for the bobcats this year. They are going to focus on football instead.
  2. There used to be a way that you could go on the Sentinels website and see a collection of all the pictures they have taken from all the games. Either they removed it, or I can't find anymore. Here's what I did find...... http://prepxtra.ning.com/photo/photo http://www.knoxnews.com/photos/galleries/ Just scroll down and find the picture gallery that you want (there's not many for HS football)
  3. One thing that all teams have to deal with at this point in the season is injuries. Central was missing the whole left side of their line during the South Doyle game and had to rely on back-ups for most of the game. Not saying bad things about their replacements, but it hurts not having regular starters in the game. I've heard the same things about Powell being weak and not playing anybody......but who really knows???? This should be an interesting game with a lot on the line. There are always bragging rights when these two play, but now the stakes are much higher than they have been in the past. 2nd through 4th in the region is a toss-up and I agree that it will be interesting once week 10 rolls around.
  4. Ummm.......does this qualify as a "Man Crush"????
  5. The person that started this thread sounds like the typical UT fan. These are HS kids. I repeat - KIDS!!!!! These aren't elite athletes being recruited from all around the country expected to give their team a win week in and week out and a #1 national ranking. Instead, they are KIDS playing their hearts out for their respective schools. It's called PRIDE, TRADITION and LOVE OF THE GAME. Next week, while you are still bad-mouthing the coaching staff and bemoaning the loss, these same KIDS will be back on the practice field preparing for their next game. Where will you be??? I'm not a South Doyle or Clinton fan....I cheer for the Central Bobcats. But it's comments like yours that detract from the fun, simple, and pure enjoyment of High School sports, especially when you start criticizing the KIDS. How would you like it if somebody logged onto a message board and could anonymously criticize you anytime they wanted to?
  6. If Wilson is out, then who is going to be his back-up? The Saah kid is out with a knee injury from spring practice.
  7. He was out for a while, but is doing much better now. He is going to stay at the hospital overnight to be on the safe side. Hate to see that happen to any kid. Good luck to the Patriots this year.
  8. Best thing I have read posted on this thread. Then MAYBE all the whining and "what-if's" would go away. Play the dang game!!!!!!
  9. Grace Christian will probably fill in the missing spot. I don't remember Cosby playing....but I could be wrong
  10. Central will need to stay healthy this year. They had a lot of key players get injured last year and that led to their "fizzle" at the end of the 2006 season.
  11. The Knoxville Jamboree will be held on two separate nights this year. In the past, they were all held on the same night @ Neyland Stadium, but UT is resodding the field so Neyland won't be available. Thursday August 16th @ Knoxville Central HS Friday August 17th @ Farragut Hs The Blount County Jamboree will be held on the 17th @ Alcoa Don't know the schedule yet, but I'm sure it will be posted soon
  12. Morristown West over Campbell Co. Sorry, but I can't remember the score. Knox Central over Karns 49-47 Austin East over Dobbyns Bennet by one point (can't remember the score either). AE had about 10-15 point lead earlier in the game but squandered the lead and held on while DB had several last second chances for a tip-in to win the game.
  13. Don't know if the bracket is on-line anywhere, but here are the first two rounds for the boys.... Monday November 20th 5:45 Dobyns Bennett vs. Morristown West 8:45 South Doyle vs Knox Central (winners play @ 5 Friday, losers play @ 1:30 Friday) Tuesday November 21st 5:45 Karns vs. Farragut 8:45 Cambell County vs. Austin East (winners play @ 8 Friday, losers play @ 10:30am Friday) All games @ Knoxville Central HS
  14. We've all heard the saying that "Football is Life". Whatever. I love the game as much as everybody else, but football is a game. Blood is Life. The blood that those players donated could help save ANYBODY'S life and that coach is a jack-hole for his self serving actions. Wouldn't it be ironic if that coach or a memeber of his family needed emergency life-saving surgery, but was informed "Sorry.....you lost your position in life.....you are going to die" because the hospital didn't have the blood supply that was needed.
  15. Rebelsports.....I assume you had a point to make by starting this thread, but like the West Rebels of past.....you just couldn't follow through and finish what you started Just kidding....don't mean any harm...just having some fun!!! This game is huge for both teams because it means home field advantage for the first round of the play-offs. Central may have a better record than West right now, but I would have to say that both teams are pretty evenly matched at this point.
  16. I can't speak for Knox County's position, but other "metro" areas feel that they have enough ambulances on call at any given time, and they don't feel the need to have an ambulance at the games because they can be out responding to other emergencies within the community. I guess that's something that goes along with living in a larger city. But smaller schools usually have an ambulance on site. I don't want to sound like I'm bashing the smaller schools......but when you have a "big game" such as the Catholic-Fulton game, or any games that have a larger student population (i.e. 4A & 5A), those games usually have more people in attendance because of the size of the school, parents, bands, students, etc. and it just makes sense that there should be an ambulance on site. Not just for the athletes.....but also for the people in the stands. Those people have accidents and emergencies also.
  17. Why is there even a thread on this one? Cats should roll big. After two consecutive losses, I see the "Kees" as a region tune-up to the much awaited game between the Cats and Powell Panthers the following week. And don't worry about the Kitty Cats overlooking this game.
  18. Something is seriously wrong here..... The Halls vs. Clinton thread has 11 pages But the Maryville vs. Central thread has only 7 ????
  19. I'm not going to make any predictions on this game, but I expect it to be a good game as usual. One of the keys to the game that Central MUST do is eliminate the stupid penalites that they always seem to get. I'm not blaming officiating in any way....but it seems that whenever the Cats break a big play, there is always some stupid holding or block in the back penalty that negates the play. And that can be a HUGE momentum killer. Just my thoughts. Good luck to both teams but I'll be pulling for the Cats in this one. I for one know I'll be there early to get a seat. I'll be there so early that I'll even cheer on the guys that set-up the sidelines prior to the teams taking the field
  20. Why don't you clean your grammar up so we can understand what point you are trying to make!!
  21. catsfever

    3 AAA

Powell eliminated Halls. Can't remember the score but it did go extra innings. Karns beat Central 1-0 in 7 innings. Very good game that could have gone either way. Tomorrow, Central and Halls will play at 6 with the winner facing Karns at 8. If Central should beat Powell and Karns, then another game will be played (on Friday I think).
  22. Wednesday's Schedule: 6pm Halls vs. Powell 8pm Central vs. Karns
  23. Central lost to Karns 6-3 in 9 innings and the Bobcats season is over. Good luck to Halls and Karns the rest of the way.
  24. Ooops....my mistake!!!! I thought this was a Knox Central thread and not a Powell, AAU or Catholic message board. I never thought Maryville fans would hijack a Central Basketball thread?!?!?!
  25. The meeting was changed to Wednesday the 15th
