  1. Do they not play JV games every week for that? Obviously you don't know much about SC's past. They make a run in the playoffs EVERY year and have made 2 appearances to the semi-finals and 2 to the quarterfinals in recent years. I think they get the improvement from year to year. Rely too much on seniors? What are you supposed to do with seniors. If any team doesn't rely on seniors in small country high schools with 600 total kids, I want to see it. That's part of high school football. It happens. Not to be rude, but those fans don't have a clue. The best man plays! It's just that simple. Now that we got that out of the way. Don't know who you are. By the way it sounds, you might have a relative on the team. Since you are giving out all this advice. I have some for you, take it or leave it. Don't be that guy. Your relative will have his time one day and be on the field when he is deserving I suppose. And if he never sees the field and plays meaningful minutes, well he will have learned a lot just being a part of the SC football team. Regardless, I'm sure he understands the situation better than you. Chill out, it will be ok.
  2. I hear they paid TC a HEFTY $UM of $$ to go up to KY and get robbed. Id bet its probably equal to what the SC gate woulda been. Who cares dude. Nobody really cares about TC. Get over it.
  3. Well, almost what I expected. I would have thought SC would have scored a few more points. LA is improved and headed in the right direction. SC has a lot of work to do and needs to get some people healthy. All in all, SC got a win like I expected,.
  4. I don't see a blowout either way. Truthfully, as many 2, 3, and 4 year starters that LA has, along with the experience gained from playing in that gauntlet the last four years, LA should be a pretty good favorite, but I do think SC wins in a close one.
  5. Imallin I know your excited knowing that new baby girl will be herr before midnight. Congrats in advance. Sports nuts does come on at 6 tonight instead of tomorrow night right?
  6. No I'm not coach. But I'm thinking about trying the other side of the game "officiating". This is definitely a case of the pot calling the kettle black (only yours is due to age where mine is due to being too plump,) but you butter sign up to be an umpire because you won't be able to get around at any of the other positions as feable as you are.
  7. Croz, where are all of the Gordonsville posters that used to flood the board this week. Have their kids graduated and now they don't have that Tiger pride? If so, you need to let the incoming parents know that there is this website on the internet that they can come to and talk smack on. As for tonight, I don't see the end result being any different than any other time that I have witnessed in the last decade or so. I have been wrong before, once, so it can happen. It's not because I think Smith County is so good, because I actually think they still have a lot of growing to do with some inexperienced players, but mainly because I just don't see how Gordonsville is supposed to be any better than all the other times when people promised wins on here. I guess we will see soon enough. My prediction Smith County - 28 Gordonsville - 14
  8. I think most people want to see DeKalb replace those lineman before they right you in contention for the top spot. I know I do. I know I was surprised to hear that Monterey gave DC all they wanted in a scrimmage. And yes I know, there were a couple of receivers out.
  9. Can't wait til the 21st. Football season is almost here.
  10. I definitely see the angle of not playing #7 on defense. Then again, if he is one of the best on defense and you have good depth at QB, maybe you can afford to do that. Maybe that's the case.
  11. This may the thinnest SC team I have witnessed in the last 10 years, in terms of depth. However, having said that, I don't see any freshman contributing. The closest one to doing that would be Rankin at this point, IMO. I am sure a lot of underclassman will see the field this fall, I am just not so sure that it will be in the heat of battle.
  12. Those are two names that you didn't hear much if any last year. Were they underclassman last year? Or are they new to the program?
  13. I've got a plus membership and all, but I forgot that people actually got on here in the off season. Thee is no telling how much good fun everyone has been having on here. It it's not too late, I may join in from time to time, but I ain't about to start reading 29 pages. So I'll say this, region should be fun this year, but I still wish we had the old 10 team region back. 1. York Institute 2. Livingston Academy 3. Jackson County 4. Upperman 5. Cannon County 6. Macon County 7. Trousdale County 8. Smith County 9. Portland 10. DeKalb County ...and then may the best 4 go.
  14. I would think... Karissa Dyer, C, Upperman, 6'4" Kaycee Farris, C, Smith County, 6'8" ...would have to be mentioned if your talking about Middle TN. Maybe it's just me. They average 25-30 points a game.
  15. I am a tournament director for ISA in the Middle TN area, and I have decided to bring ISA to West TN for the 2009 season. I am inviting all West TN teams to come and play ISA if you have never gotten the opportunity before. I will only offer a couple to three tournaments in 2009, but will offer more in years to come. Take this opportunity to qualify for state and world tournaments while staying close to home. I will post the dates as soon as they are finalized. Thanks for playing ISA!!!
  16. While I will agree that we need a recruiter, that is not where Fulmer failed. The sophomores on this team where the #1 recruiting class in the country. The seniors on this team where in the top 5. The freshman class and the junior class wasn't anything in the top 10, but still yet, the recruiting has always been one of Phil's strongest attributes. It's what he has done with them when he gets them here. Of course, you will see the few that shine and could play on any team, but what about the ones that don't shine. Example: They claim Brandon Warren doesn't know the routes. Ahmad Page doesn't do the little things well. What happened to highly touted EJ Abrams Ward from last year? Chris Donald, the #1 prospect in the state of Tennessee two years ago? Danarius Moore? He makes a few big plays for us and then all of a sudden we can't get him on the field. It's never ending. I garauntee you one thing, if ANY of those players were at Bama, Florida or Georgia, they would coach them up. Look at Donta Hightower. Starting as a frosh at Bama and he is nowhere near the player Donalds was coming out of high school. That is Fulmer's downfall.
  17. Reaction, I was hoping to make the trip down there next week to watch the Owls play against you all, but obviously, the Owls didn't overcome a tough outing by the Warriors. I was so looking forward to seeing and talking to one of my favorite coaches in all my days of playing HS football in Coach Robbins. Someone said he was the defensive coordinator now. Is that right? The last I heard he was the principal or assistant prinicipal or whatever a private school calls them. Is he still doing that as well?
  18. I am not in favor of hiring Brian Kelly necessarily but WOW, I must say, I am somewhat puzzeled to hear you say that. I mean I understand that the Big East isn't the SEC, but he is a proven winner everywhere he has been. Whose to say he couldn't do it in the SEC. Grand Valley State - 13 Years Record: 120-35-2 6 Conference Titles 2 National Championships Central Michigan - 3 Years Record: 53-11 (2004 = 4-7, 2005 = 6-5, 2006 = 9-4) 1 Conference Title Cincinatti - 2nd Year Record: 19-5 Won 2 Bowl Games (coached the bowl game in 2006) And looks to win the conference title this year That's pretty good stats. I don't care who you are. Coaching Record: 158-56-2 (.738 Winning Percentage)
  19. The weather was the only thing bad about tonight, well, and besides the team didn't win that I was rooting for, but it was still a great game.
  20. I apologize if you think I was offering an excuse. Marion deserved the win. No excuses here.
  21. Not arguing with your post at all. But neither team had the speed to get to the outside due to the field conditions. North and South on a field like that. As for the dual possesion, it may not have been the right call. There were several more calls tonight that were very questionable like the holding call on the converted 4th down, but that doesn't take anything away from Marion County. They made more plays tonight than SC and very much deserved the win. Good luck next week.
  22. I think this one will be a great one. I look forward to attending. Good luck TC.
