  1. lewis had about 85 yards give or take a few and no touchdowns. jj taylor had 2 picks one returned for a score i think. it was a tough game, it always is with sparta and crossville. hixson hasnt been that great since the bullock brothers left, i played for sparta when we were in their region a few years back and they were tough then. for coverage on sparta football check www.spartaexpositor.com there is always info and articles there. i like sparta in this game by 10 points but it wont be easy. cleveland use to be a powerhouse, i think the best football team i ever seen live in tn was the cleveland team in 95 or 96, they had a back named stefon woods, dang that guy was bad news. i also played against the fields brothers demetrius and brandon. another good cleveland player was tony styles, he was a hard hitter, anyone know what ever happened to him??
  2. lincoln did good to beat warren county, tyler wolf will run all over the falcons. i say cookeville wins 42-7, if not worse.
  3. warren county is spanking deklab, for whatever that is worth. they go from losing 39 straight to 2-0. do they have a shot to beat lincoln county? i work in mcminnville and they tore down the goal post last week, lol!
  4. i thought melrose defensivebacks should of got penelized the way they blasted the recievers after they saw he had no shot at catching the ball, on one drive they got away with 3 or 4 vicious late hits on rebel recievers. props to the rebel recievers for jumping right back up after getting cheap shoted. cade thompson is the best divison 1 A QB prospect in the state. melrose did look like they had more natural talent but just got out coached and out played.
  5. FHSrebel very big of you to give riverdale their props but i was one of the ones that told you that riverdalw was a different beast than franklin has seen this year. i watched it on tv and honestly they are lucky it wasnt 48-0, they play hard and have a good team but oak ridge would beat them by 3 td in my opinion. they have some big boys and a good TB/QB #22 but just not enough.
  6. the game isnt till tomorrow owl.
  7. that # 25 for DCA can run the dang football. DCA earned that win, great way to come back from a 24-7 hole.
  8. FHSrebel i would slow down on the smacktalk if i were you my friend. your rebels have played good enough to win this season but against riverdale that wont cut it. oak ridge was as balanced of a team as there is in the state and they fell to the warriors, franklin has no stand out back or qb like oak ridge did. also your talk of the 12th man is ridiclous, big games and crowds are nothing new to riverdale. i mean if franklin fills the entire stadium up then id say there may be a small advantage for the rebels (still not near enough to pull this upset tho) but this is a stadium that holds 50 times more fans then what will be there. plain and simple just like all the other teams, you will not run on riverdale and you will not stop their running game. lastly, dont underestimate riverdales crowd, i sat in their bleachers for the oak ridge game and there was a good 3,000 people in those stands and standing around the fence and they were fired up. riverdale rolls in this one 38-0 is my pick. p.s. i feel sorry for your quarterback, riverdale has the sickest rush i have ever seen in high school. even if you are in the game at halftime they will just go in and make adjustments and come out and dominate the second half. my prediction is miller gets MVP for offense and prob a riverdale D-lineman gets defensive MVP. eric locke is the only player i ever seen win offensive and defensive MVP in a single game when it was the clinic bowl.
  9. franklin better get real use to seeing this site.
  10. gulmire is the truth man that guy can do it all. how tall is he, he looked kinda short? he was killing riverdale by sliping out of the backfield and running straight down the field and catching the deep ball. he also had a number of great runs in the 1st half but was shut down in the second half. wonder if he is getting any looks from major colleges and is number 8 going to play college ball and if so where do you think he will go?
  11. will the qb and tailback be back next year? thats a scary thought.
  12. hey boyfromsi, i was at the game and oak ridge was very tough and in another thread i broke down the game you should check it out, its under "where are all the oak ridge fans" i give props to both teams but riverdale just has to much depth, esp in the offensive and defensive line.
  13. nice call on the victory gtowngrad04 lmao!! now come up with a thread on why germantown lost by 20 points.
  14. orwildcat30 give riverdale some credit, i was at the game and they wore you guys down, you dont want to compare football traditions with riverdale my friend.
  15. riverdale wins, they are a machine, that defense is sick. if i were a college recruiter id offer all of riverdales defensive line a scholarship.
  16. i went to the game tonight and ill tell you that i was impressed with oak ridge, they are a great football team. but, they ran into a buzzsaw tonight and couldnt finish the game. man riverdale is a machine, they always seem to make plays when they need them, the defense steped it up in the second half and shut them down for the most part. miller ran hard but he was getting keyed on by the defense and didnt have his usual 200 + yards, though he broke his first carry for 50 yards, im not sure what his final stats were but im sure he broke 100 yard mark or better. let me say that i had my doubts about dave thomas for mr football but tonight i have no doubt he deserves it hands down. this guy can run the dang football, man he is quick and athletic. he also showed a great arm several times tonight with one very long td pass droped by a wide open # 5 (but 5 made up for it, he was player of the game in my opinion). i kind of thought going into tonights game that if you stop miller that you stop the warrior offense, not the case at all. thomas, #5 dont know his name, and the pool of great fullbacks they have all are a threat everytime they touch the ball, kit hartsfiled flat ran over the strong saftey #20 for oak ridge. on to the defense, yea they gave up 28 and some yards to a very sharp and well coached offense tonight but man the riverdale defensive line raped the qb for oak ridge. they have the best D line i ever saw in high school hands down, man they rush the passer like they are posessed. the secondary is vulnerable but the D line dont allow the qb time to make good decisions and get off many good passes. the linebackers run all over the field, very fast and athletic. ok now what i liked about oak ridge, plain and simple their tailback is a stud. this guy came to play and play he did (i think he got knocked out of the game in the 4th tho). in my opinion he is not a better runner than miller but he is better all around, he does it all, very good reciever out of the backfield. without him oak ridge would have been up creek. the oak ridge qb was very good as well, this guy can throw the ball down the field, when he had time. ive never seen a qb do so well under such pressure by the D line. they must have sacked him 6 or 7 times and they were hitting him hard, he just kept getting up and completing passes tho. he is the best qb riverdale faced all year hands down, if they could have give him time it could very well have been a different game. over all oak ridges offense was pretty awsome even against the best defense in the state. ill go on record right now and say i was wrong, oak ridge would beat symrna and prob any other team in 5 A besides riverdale. i think cookeville may give them a good fight but that offense for oak ridge is very well balanced and have some super weapons. in closing let me say good job to oak ridge and congrats on a great season and a great game tonight, it was a very exciting game to watch as a fan i thank them for their great effort and heart they showed. and to riverdale they play with a intensity no one can match, they just make plays in every aspect of the game. i say give thomas mr football, i mean the guy plays every snap of the game, starts at qb, punter, cornerback and returns punts, if there is a bigger impact player out there i havent saw him. also it was nice to see jacqui mac at the game and enjoying herself, quit a gal she is.
  17. how do you shut a DB down? DB's get burned not shut down. i didnt see the game but i know he is a great player all around.
  18. vols#1

    White County

worse than before, red bank, hixson, cleveland, rhea county are all tough year in and out.
  19. uh yes, most great backs are either turned into DB or LB, qb tend to be convereted to DB or WR.
  20. so what, most great tailbacks and qb's in high school are convereted in college if they go to a big program. my point is he is a divison 1 prospect and riverdale shut him down.
  21. one last question, can we buy tickets at the gate and if not how do i get tickets?
  22. i just find it hard to believe that anyone can run on riverdales defense, i mean symrnas tailback is going to UT on a free ride and they shut him down twice this year. cookevilles back paxton is very good and was held to 20 yards, i think oak ridge is underestimating riverdales schedule, it is a tough schedule. riverdales first 2 games they gave up some points but then they got in sync and are just shutting teams down. oak ridge im sorry to say but you cant stop riverdales running game and you sure as heck cant run on them, your suposed best back in the state will be shut down, that i can promise you, you will not have over 75 total team rushing yards. riverdales team speed may be the most overall team speed ive ever seen on a high school team in tennessee. gaston miller is the best back in the state and he is heck to tackle, so quick and strong, he is short but very tough to hit clean and if he breaks the corner its all over, hes a burner. im sure OR will put up a good fight in the 1st half but riverdales depth will wear you all down in the 3rd and 4th and then its gaston time. i will be there to watch.
  23. you all are going to get this thread locked if you dont stay on the original subject. i mean to settle this discussion all you have to say is that if nunley played at riverdale he wouldnt start at any position. nunley is a good back but he had over a hundred more carries than gaston, not to mention gaston is only a junior. nunley is a good runner but miller has that next gear that nunley just dont have. redraider4life have you ever seen gaston miller play? im guessing not.

    Hey Vols#1

strlcoach it looks good on there lol, you are right that is just un called for throwing the sphere like that. who threw it, was it just one kid and if so was he a younger kid or a starter? either way it is a classless thing to do and usally stunts like this are pulled by a kid that isnt going to play anyway, usally the ones who are going to be on the field have their mind on the game. rankin should suspend him, whoever he is for the next game. not even let him dress out. cookeville came to play and did well, they didnt deserve to be tormented by riverdale or their fans. riverdale should treat class with class, it stinks that their win had to come after a ignorant stunt like that.
  25. lamarcus cooker when healthy is the best. marcelous johnson from symrna is good but not better than cooker gaston miller, jake nunley, gus paxton are all very good also.
