Congratulations to 24 Tennessee women on 4 teams (3 of which are Tennessee teams, Lee University, Martin Methodist College and King College) that are competing in the first round of the 25th Annual 2008 NAIA Women??™s Soccer National Championships. All four colleges won their respective conferences to qualify for the National play-offs. A list of these young women follows by University. Hey Big G.. understand, your point taken. I know this coaches background, aprx 20 years or so, about the 2 coach of the year SEC, the 5 NCAA shows in his previous 10 year tenure.. but I wanted to see flatlines' response. Wasn't suggesting at all they weren't well coached and the team isn't successful. Flatline was making a coaching comparison as if coaching would be a significant edge. I think in this particular case that there are more issues of greater bearing on the outcome of this upcoming match and not disagreeing with the probable outcome regarding the W in the FRA column. I wanted to see if Flatline had any particulars about the coaching style that supported what he seemed to be saying. I happen to believe in the young coach at GC as I've pointed out her successes in another Coach-T string. Soccer is a free-flowing game where players do make their own decisions and while there maybe many factors that contribute to a programs success, a coach can train what he/she has to work with on a skill and experience level, but the player executes. I think the GC coach is a tactical qualified practitioner of the game, understands and can relate to female high school athletes and will make a difference in their program

Pulaskivol is correct - she was player of the year in 05. This young Giles County coach, graduated in 08 and also is now the assistant coach for the Redhawks. As Martin Methodist's starting center-mid, she was the most decorated player in the NAIA in 05, earning the NAIA/Brine and NSCAA/adidas NAIA Women's Soccer Player of the Year Award. She was also selected to the First Team All-America, First Team All-Region XI and First Team All-TranSouth Athletic Conference. She was named the TranSouth Conference Player of the Year and the NAIA Region XI Player of the Year. She is from England and before moving to the states she was named the National Women's Football Academy Football Player of the Year in 2003-04, and has trained with the Irish National Team. Her coach at Martin Methodist has been published twice in the world's leading coaching resource magazine "World Class Coaching" in coaching sessions entitled, "Combination and Penetration" and "Passing to keep Possession". She understands championships and competing to win... I'm sure her program and her very fortunate young soccer players will benefit. Good Luck GC

This is a Eurosport Ranking question: Can anyone tell me why when I look at AAA rankings that Franklin is ranked #4 and Collierville #5 but then when I look at Redmond Ranking, Collierville is ranked #6 and Franklin drops below Collierville to #8???

Of the last 10 meetings Beech vs Hendersonville, Beech won 7. This will be the season opener for Beech, as opposed to Hendersonville having played one complete regulation game last week. It's early in the season for both teams. Beech players watched the game and saw what the Hendersonville did to SC. The Bucs O is putting points on the board and their D is improving each time I've seen them.

Herefortheband has it right.. so far Hendersonville, Stationcamp and Beech have been video'd. Pearl Cohn and Gallatin have committed and are scheduled. That only leaves 7 more drumlines that can take advantage this year and we expect a couple of college drumlines will get involved... so have ur band directors get in touch if they want to cash-in, show-out their program, have fun and see who REALLY has the Best Drumline.

Who is the Best? Not quite sure how to go about this but have an opportunity for 11 additional drumlines to showcase their programs, get recognition and earn dollars for their band program to boot. I will be contacting Middle Tennessee band boosters and band directors as I need bands but thought that perhaps with this forum I could reach other bands I would not have thought of but that are within the broadcast viewing area of Nashville TV stations. I operate an advertising agency and am videotaping 30 minute infomercials for an automobile dealer client. Each month throughout 2008 one drumline will be featured as part of the cast. The bands recieve a check for their participation, an edited video of just the band footage will be posted to the autodealers website, available for internet viewing and a vote can be placed for the viewers favorite.. a battle of the drumlines so to speak. Hendersonville has already been videographed, slotted in for January and is currently airing on NBC, My 30, CW and Fox. It is airing 72 times in January and it is possible I will add ABC and CBS time slots each month.. so tons of exposure for the kids, acknowledgement, thanks and a check for the band program. Quite a few Tennessee players are and have participated in post season NCAA and NAIA conference play this year. Most know that the NCAA tournament play is still ongoing but the NAIA title game was last evening in Daytona, Florida. Congratulations to 3 Tennessee teams and the cumulative total of 25 young Tennessee women on these teams that had the opportunity to experience a national event. I was impressed that out of the 20 teams that advanced to NAIA nationals there were in fact 3 Tennessee teams that won their respective Regional titles and competed nationally. The teams were King, Lee and Martin Methodist. Martin Methodist RedHawks were seeded #5 but won securing their 2nd National Championship Title in 3 years. Lee seeding #1 had an equally impressive season commanding a number one ranking 6 weeks running. It may have been Kings 1st appearance seeding #12 at nationals but they well represented Tennessee with players from many areas of the state. Going back to the original post of the string, the question was: Who and How are the rankings determined? OK, I get it, seems it is a coaches poll???? Since no one specifically said who or answered how, I sent a few emails to the only contact I could find on EuroSportScoreBoard.com... after weeks... no response. Maybe it was because I was asking for specifics and no one either wants to say or no one actually knows? lol it's a joke! Or perhaps it was after commending the site for the thorough explanation of how match scores and schedules were obtained and posted that I suggested that NAIA utilized a great ranking system called the Longo Rating System /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":blink:" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> The Longo system is interesting to me in that details are available as to exactly how the rankings are done and even who is involved in each region can be found on the NAIA website.
