  1. I think White Co. wins by at least 2 scores.
  2. Just know that Brock ia ok...don't know anything about playing. I hope they choose to not play him because this don't have any play-off significance. Also if it did I would also hope that they wouldn't play him for his safety. Just to be on the safe side a couple games rest could really help. I think we play Upperman after CC so now is the time for Brock to get better. . It's just a game. There will be others. As for the Robinson kid, Im sure he will be ready. They kept him overnight just to make sure he was ok. And if not then LA would look to Qualls a Freshman to run the team. Without Brock I'm sure the LA offensive play calling would be very "Vanilla". This is where the LA DEE "must carry their team" it's hard to lose if you can keep someone from scoring. At least set your defensive goals to shut the other team out, you never know it could happen.
  3. Tough game last night for the Cats. LA played well in the first half but you have to play the whole game in order to beat a team as good as SC. Give them credit they are a well coached team and it showed again tonight. SC took advantage of our defense with that big line and wore us out in the second half. That was one of the things that I thought LA would have trouble with...holding down the Owls running game.and didn't do bad the first half but just couldn't hang on. Offensively we had our moments early but again the Owl defense was totally dominate. They held us to just 19 yards in the second half and that was the difference. Just have to realize that LA is still a young team and this game will help them down the road. Sad part is SC is young too and that don't look good for teams in the future. Hope that Brock and the Robinson kid are ok and will get to play in the next game but I'm sure that will be a day to day thing. Was impressed with the play of LB Lucas Reagan .....Freshman DE McDonald... DE Ronnie Linder and lastly thought this was a break out game for Creed Hayes. Was really impressed how he ran. Also played well on Defense. LA just needs to lick their wounds ...suck it up and don't feel sorry for themselves. Get back to work and get back on track let this game make you better. The defense has to toughen up and play hard for 4 quarters. Actually SC took us to school with nothing fancy nothing flashy but just basic blocking and tackling. The team that does that will win more than they lose...and that's a FACT.
  4. It's still early right Glover. Neither team is the clear favorite IMO. But one would have to favor SC because of the way they have owned the Cats the past decade. I know that there is plenty of optimism that this Owl team will be one of the best to play at SC and Manning is truly a fine specimen but they haven't really found that gear that Owl fans are accustomed to. It's gonna take time for it all to gel and come together but hopefully it won't happen this week. Guess you will be making the trip or are you working ? Hope to see several of the Owl faithful imallin..antwan..J.Webb among others.
  5. Yeah if they bring that game from last week up to hog-eye the Owls could be in for a long night.
  6. It's been rather quite on these boards. Wonder where all the SC faithful (excluding scooter and termite) have been and where in the world has the one.. the only..Hilham Hound been keeping himself. This is one of the biggest match-ups that each team has. Guess most people don't want to have to eat crow. Everything being so quite makes me think that this game will be filled with tension from both sides. And the winner might just be the team that comes out raring to get it on. Guess we will see.
  7. Oh ok my bad thought I heard that he played TE and De.
  8. Scooter I don't think you all will have to play an error free game in order to win. Im sure your coaches know where they can attack the Wildcats and also where there def is most venerable. Getting #88 back will be a plus for you all I would say. Wouldn't you ? By the way whats his name and which DE will he play left or right.
  9. Did we play against one another ? If so what position did you play?
  10. Im a cheap date king. I would say that if you can buy the whole uppercumberland some pop-corn then you could afford me. LOL
  11. LOL Scooter if you remember me then your getting on up there in age yourself. In 3 more years it will be 40 yrs since I donned the blue and white. Wow how time flies and how the game and kids have changed is unreal. LA has alot of talent and if I was playing today I would probably be a line-man or maybe a FB at best. Reading your post you played at Carthage didn't you ?
  12. Thought there for a sec you had made a bad bet. LOL Afraid your bet is safe King my boy. Remember this is Smith Co. and HOG-EYE your talking about. How many in a row have they owned us .....oh whose counting anyway. If a player can't get up for this game then something's wrong especially if your a LA player. But those games don't matter friday night is the only thing that matters. And I hope we get to see a great game.
  13. Not disagreeing with you scooter but you and I know as does a bunch of people that SC will be ready. And your right both teams will have to be at their best in order to win. LA has IMHO one of the top QB in the state in McCoin. Brock seems to be a mixture of his dad and Cates ...he can run and throw. He will definitely present a lot of problems for the Owls. He has several weapons in RB Hayes - WR Ledbetter - WR Martin and an ex-Owl Winningham. That all sounds good on paper but the Cats will have to earn it they will have their hands full with that stingy Owl defense as well. I just hope defensively LA can keep the Owls running game in check.. much like Gordonsville did. Make them beat us with the pass. The winner will all but sew up the stop spot in the Region IMO. So this game is huge for both teams. If you like football then you will love this game..I know I am anxious to watch it. Not gonna slam nobody amd hope we all can have some fun on the T about our teams. I will say this... LA needs to prove to themselves that they can play and win a game like this especially if they are to reach their goal of another Gold Ball. Who knows this could be the Cats year !!!
  14. Just your typical back yard dog fight between 2 arch rivals. I thought Gordonsville won it everywhere it counted but on the scoreboard. Both teams are well coached and have very disciplined players. The defensive stand after the muffed punt showed me what this Tiger team is made of. Most teams would have folded in that situation. Congrats and good luck to G-Ville the rest of the season. Didn't see SC first game but apparently that team didn't show up last night. I know the defense did but the offense was slopppy to say the least. Jimmy said on the radio after the game that "you have to give them alot of credit their front 7 played great and G-Ville has some good skill players and they are well coached". I agree with that but I really thought SC would control the LOS and score a time or 2 and get out with a win and should have if not for a few dropped passes...one in particular. But like most good teams they always find a way to win and SC did. Next up HOG-EYE.
  15. You said it nothing to gain and everything to lose. Sometimes it's harder to get a team up and not overlook anybody. But losing to G-Ville wouldn't be the end of the world for the Owls but it SURE WOULD HURT. This game is about PRIDE..BRAGGING RIGHTS..ETC.
  16. This game will be your basic backyard brawl just like any ARCH-RIVAL game. On paper the Owls should be the favorite, but everyone knows how that goes. Throw out all the records and all the past games and get ready for a hard hitting game this friday night. I think it will take a mighty effort by the Tigers to win and a even mightier effort by the Owls to overcome the hostile enviroment, crowd and stay focused to keep their season unblimished.
  17. Hello to all the Owl faithful !!! Good Luck to the OWLS tonight....hope for a win and no injuries for either side. Looking forward to Sept. 2nd when the Owls invade HOG-EYE. But first things first for both teams. Plan on making a visit to "THE HOLE" when the Tigers of Lafayette play the Owls Sept. 23rd. Should be a dandy.
  18. Great Scotts Alive.....thanx for the info...looking forward to this time of year...but it's still a tad hot for me. Hope to see you there as well. You might have a hard time finding me but all I have to do is look at the sideline to spot you. Are you still in the paper business?
  19. Going to watch the Jam tonight...was wondering if anyone knew the line-up for the games. I think the outlaws play at 5pm not sure if it's all of them or just the bigger ones. And LMS plays at 6pm coach Flatt told me this morning. And are all the games against Jackson Co? In the HS match-up I was told that the QB from JC has made a visit to Auburn. Anxious to see that young man. If anyone in the know could give me the low down it would be greatly appreciated. GO HOG-EYE
  20. Wondering how the scrimmage against Scott High went last night ?
  21. Chip off the "ole block" eh senator ...... congrats MAC on receiving such a great honor... also congrats on your chance to play at the next level. MTSU has a good program and coach... should be a good fit for you and the Blue Raiders.
  22. Yes I was youngman thank you lol....and Sportster I'm sure Fulton doesn't have anywhere near the team they had 2 yrs ago nor does Bolivar. Just saying that EL need not overlook the CATS because we are playing well at the moment. And like O K said we have a good as chance as any team. When you get this far it's one game at a time and unless you play bad and/or are simply outmanned any team has a chance to advance. GO HOG-EYE
  23. I think it's fair to say that LA won't be overlooking East Lit. based on the recent past. East Lit. better not overlook LA would be the more accurate statement. As a fan I'm glad the Cats won't be playing that Fulton team or Bolivar team in the opening round. No disrespect to E.L. but your team probably would have gotton the same result as the Cats got....ran out of the Gym. I like our chances in this game IF we play our game. Hopefully the Cats won't have to play catch up as you posted. Hopefully we can control the TEMPO of the game and make E.L. play our game. Time will tell. Good Luck LA
  24. The Wildcats are playing their best ball right now and are jelling each game as a team. There are no superstars to speak of and that's why you see balanced scoring from the starting 5. I say just lay it on the line Wednesday and leave it on the court and I like our chances to win. It's ONE GAME at a time and who knows, we might just surprise some people.
