A Couple of things that could add to the event are recognizing great coach's, ref's, offcials. Have a "Coach Neely" award for an outstanding coach. Recognize the AD, principal. Announce All State teams...not just all tournament. A mental attitude award for a scrappy kid. If you make the final 4...you deserve something..a certificate, a key chain..something. I am ok with the first round of the tournament being at a local school. Once the final 4 are decided then moving to MTSU. The finals should be played later in the day. Allow people the choice of attending. Just a few of my ideas. Promote it, invite middle schools, high schools.

Couple things first and biggest thing is that the Champinship started at 1:00 ( or earlier) on a Friday! Students were not able to support their school (if they wanted to). Some parents even had a hard time making the games. Second that they couldn't even run a real court for the championship. They stuck the court at one end (taped lines). At least make the final game on the main floor. Plus the total lack of any kind of decent ceremony. I am a bit jaded by how it is ran. It doesn't even feel like "an event". Do you know what I mean? If you have never gotten a chance to see how other states do it, it is hard to relate.

here is my take on this: Yes you have the hardest district in the state...it isn't even close. There are still AAA schools in TN that do not have Volleyball...thus less teams. Volleyball is not a revenue sport. TSSAA does not make any money if 2 or 4 teams play in the regional. However they do make money on gate with 4 basketball teams playing. TSSAA doesn't care about Volleyball in my opinion. If you were at the State Tournament last year it was obvious...it was embarrasing. I hate it for teams like Cent, Indepen, Riverdale etc...who would all win 90% of the districts in this state but can't get out of the district. But I don't agree that you can lose 4 times in the basketball state tournament and still be State Champs...that is a joke. Until more people get on the Volleyball bandwagon it won't change. if there wasn't outrage last year about the tournament...then I am afraid that there never will be. But I am just a random fan of the game.... with no authority unfortunatly

Carrie will return to the Dr. Monday from what I hear. She has been out for 6 weeks! Either way it will be a lot to ask for her to pull her " A Game " out. I cannot wait to see her out there again --weather it be this year or next. Thank goodness for our Three Sophmores(Reece, Faulkner and Smith) and Casie Luna--where would the Stars be without them?? Not to mention our 6 seniors (it has been reported that we have 9). Carrie's smile is a delight on the bench, but even better on the court!

Yes, the Stars are in the Regional for the second straight year beating WCHS in three. The scores were similar to this: 25-16 25-15 25-14...something like that anyway. Cookeville beat the heck out of Riverdale. THe first game was the only close one at 26-24. CHS took control of games 2 and 3. Cookeville looked great from what I hear. Congrats to the Cavs for getting out of the district for the first time in a while...they deserve praise. RHS had a nice run at it but just couldn't finish. Tomorrow night will be a great match I am sure.

Riverdale won in three against lebanon--scores indicated it was a close game. Cookeville beat blackman in three White County beat warren county in 3-1 Match ups tonight. Siegel VS White County Riverdale VS Cookeville. Both should be good matches. Riverdale Cookeville will be so good. RHS beat them in a very close 4 game match. CHS won the first one.

Siegel beat Oakland in 3. Scores were 25-10 25-13 25-9

Bradley Central and Siegel play today at Siegel. Should be a fun game. These 2 are potential match-ups in the Sub State.

No doubt Hargis. These are the 2 biggest games of the year. Tournament seeding is at stake and Riverdale is the hottest team in the district right now. There was a lot of people wondering when RHS was going to get it going. They are a good team.

Siegel 12-0 (siegel still has Blackman and Cookeville this week at home) Cookeville 10-2 Riverdale 10-3 White County 7-6 Lebanon 5-8 ?? Not sure about their record. Blackman 4-9 Warren County 4-9 ?? Oakland 0-12 District tournament will be at Warren County.

What City is Zion High School?

Not sure anyone is predicting B'woods demise. They are the best and anyone who know anything about volleyball knows that. THey have beat Siegel 3/4 so you will see no chest beating from the Siegel camp. I feel that there is great respect between the two teams from the coach all the way down to the parents. We could be in a situation where our states best team doesn't represent our state well. Fortunatlty we are not in that situation. Call it a fluke, call it a let down, call it whatever you want. But the Siegel program should feel very good about it. There have been many great teams never take a game off them.

THis cost us a match in the Blackman JV tournament against Brentwood JV. We beat them to 15 in the third game but they beat us to 25. The Siegel JV team was really upset. Also everytime we go to Sparta or Cookeville they make us play to 25 in the third game. So maybe we should make this a different thread so our terrific officials know the rules.

I wish there was some consistantcy on the thrid game issue. For some reason ref's don't get it, especially JV games.

Siegel wins in 3 25-9 25-19 25-11 HorenKamp, Cutter and Lucas played great offensively tonight. And everyone played good defense.

25-19 25-21 25-18 20-3 overall 8-0 7 AAA Another good win, but a bit of a struggle. We are 8-2 without carrie, but we need her back!! Keep icing the ankle Carrie. Another good effort from our young players. Tough task this weekend, it should be fun

what a crazy night of Volleyball. Siegel look horrible to be honest, and cookeville played very good defense..as adverstised. They lacked offense and that was the only reason they lost. Siegel had 2 sophmores that played great..thank goodness, otherwise this is a blowout. We had 3 Sophmores that were on the court at one time and they didn't miss a beat. #21 for Cookeville was dominant at the net. Her offense is also good but her block is great. The future is bright for Cookeville. The rematch at Siegel will be fun. 25-19, 21-25, 21-25, 25-23, 15-9

What was your opinion of Cookeville..if you saw them and SUllivan South. I really thought they would atleast make the GOld tournament. (south)
