I've only seen Milan play once and have not seen Huntington, but I think everyone knows to be careful comparing scores and results against other oponents. Milan that lost to Trenton beat Westview that beat Huntington, etc. And never underestimate the effect of a "rivalry" game, and I think this one qualifies. While it looks like Huntington may have the upper hand, remember these are the Dawgs and while Huntington can rightfully so proudly display their state championship from last year, the Dawgs have several (4 I think). So I wouldn't be spouting off blowout just yet, better just hunker down and go for the W.

QB is Ricky Borner, a junior. Friday was actually the first game he has ever started at QB and lost. Undefeated in Middle School at Tigrett, Undefeated on Freshman teamundefeated on JV tean last year (started for varsity at wide receiver last year). Also started as freshman on JCM basketball team and played for an AAU National Championship team a couple of years ago. Was also a very good baseball player but hasn't played in a few years due to basketball and football. And in case you didn't notice in addition to being fast, he is also quick. Was just a great game at the Rock. Another great JCM-Haywood game. Congrats to the Tomcats on a great win. Two evenly matched teams. You ever heard of a game of inches. this was a game of 6 feet 7 inches (Haywood Wide receiver).

And the Answer is Haywood. I told you I would tell after the JCM/Haywood game. Great game, 2 pretty evenly mathed teams, game could have went either way several momentem swings, but in the end it was Haywood and their 10 foot wide receiver that came out on top. Congrats to Haywood on a big W.

GAME DAY

I tend to agree it will be more of a defensive battle. Don't expect a high scoring game. I'd say in the 20 point range and possible lower. The ROCK will be rocking Friday night. Come on up Tomcats and let's have some fun--should be a great game.

Has anyone seen the "official" jackson Sun listing of best in West Tennessee. Should be a shakeup after last week, did they finally move JCM to #1. JCM has beaten the original #2 team (Hardin County) and the most recent #2 team (Milan), but was only up to #4 last week. Maybe someone at the Jackson Sun should come watch some football games. Also where is Haywood, they have to be a top 5 team also. JCM/Haywood at The Rock Friday at 7:30 will determine Region Championship. The old Jackson Sun poll doesn't really matter anyway. The most important matter at hand is beating Haywood, that should be a tough and close game. Lets play some foozball

Brownsville Too much up front?? Can't catch what you can't see--Speedvs power Matchup. JCM has great indivudual and team speed. JCM Blow Haywood out?? Don't think so, think this one goes down to the wire-- with the edge to JCM?? Melrose/that's way too down the road to even think about.

Get to the Rock early, settle in to watch a great HS Football game. Two very good HS football teams. Many, many great JCM-Haywood games over the years. When JCM went to 5A, some of the significance was lost. Now they are back in the same region and with top notch football teams. Winner of this game should be region champ. Can't wait, See you Friday night at the Rock.

He probably was tired from playing a tough football game, but Borner beat him to the corner and outran him to the end zone. He dived about the 5 and grabbed an ankle but was unable to bring him down. He did not catch him just before the goal line.

While the original post makes poster look a little foolish after the Westview disaster, Notice his post was before the game. He wasn't foolish enough to post after giving up 41 to Westview.

Ricky Borner ran for 216 yards and 2 TD's on 16 carries from the QB position against Milan. Just too quick for the Dawgs.

Ditto the congrats to the Crusaders. Came close a couple of times, glad to see them nail one down. Still young program seems to be headed in right direction. Hang in there and pull down a couple of more W's this year.

If anyone wants to come to the ROCK Friday night about 9:45, I'll tell you who is #1 in West Tennessee. JCM-Haywood at the Rock, reviving an old rivalry that was once and now is again the biggest game in West Tennessee. Everyone has opinions, but there is no doubt the JCM-Haywood winner is the #1 team in West Tennessee this year. See ya Friday at the Rock.

JCM dominated the Milan game. Milan hung in there tough and made it interesting thanks to a long touchdown pass where the defender fell down and a turnover by JCM they turned into a score in the fourth quarter. However, just as the reverse was true last year, it was obvious who dominated the game. Maybe the old Jackson Sun can move JCM up from #4 in West Tennessee now.

You can take JCM out of the ROCK, but you can't take thr Rock out of JCM.

Love the Rock. Great place for a football game.

I am a freshman parent new to the world of High School soccer. What is the format for District playoffs, etc. How many advance fron district, do they go to a ??region tournament, how many advance from there, how many are in state, etc, you get the drift. How many classifications are there? We are playing what are A and AA baseball schools (A, AA, and AAA football schools), so maybe there are only 2. Thanks

How could we forget the player many have called the best to ever play at the University of Tennessee. JCM's, The University of Tennessee and the Denver Bronco's Al Wilson
