  1. My junior year with gallatin. played Brentwood second round of the playoffs. 4th quarter brentwood is down by two comes on the field to attempt a field goal. kicker misses the field goal but fakes an injury to get the roughing the kicker penalty. three plays later comes on the field laughing and kicks the game winner.
  2. Gallatin spring ball starts next week. i think they will be a whole lot more mature than last season. have some experienced guys playing now. new o line coach at that. should be interesting to see how things go.
  3. i played for gallatin in 06 and we ran the 4-3 defense. personally that tends to be my favorite just because we had guys up front that could plug up holes and our linebackers were extremely talented. depending on what coach likes to do things with you can just play a base front or blitz any way you want to.
  4. they should be primed for a region title run this year. cody matthews should have been the starting quarterback fulltime last year. the boy is a baller and knows what he is doing. they are bring in size for the line this year. should be good to go.
  5. The only new changes on gallatin's staff has been the addition of a freshman coach. The name is Randall Silcox. played for the green wave on the 92' state champ team. he came from gibson co.
  6. Ben Miller. one of the best linebackers i have ever seen play. i played with him all three years we were in school and it was just amazing what he could do.
  7. Thomas D is at tulane as a coach right now, but i am not for sure which position
  8. BUBBA DUNN...one heck of a reciever and a excellent baseball player
  9. who are some of the players in your opinion
  10. look i am just gonna put it this way. its gallatin vs. hendersonville. each player on both teams that grew up in this area were taught be the communities and everybody else to hate on another. at gallatin i was taught never to lose to a h-ville team no matter what the circumstances was and i am sure it was the same way at h-ville. it doesn't matter whose record is better whose defense is better or whose offense is better its gonna come down to who wants it more. plain and simple. it doesn't matter if you lose every game this season you better not lose this one. look at last year gallatin 8-0 h-ville 4-4 going into this game and how close was it? it came down until the last two minutes of the 4th quarter. i played through pain and injury in that game and wasn't getting out for anything until that game was over. thats how its gonna be friday each team is never gonna give up until that final whistle blows no matter what the outcome is. good luck to gallatin i hope yall can pull this one out no matter what don't lose to h-ville!
  11. from what i have heard from players and coaches gallatin has to win two of the three remaining games to even get in the playoffs
  12. wait i minute now coach williamson runs the same defense and has the same desire as coach walls. coach williamson is a great ball coach and knows what he is doing. he was a big reason as to why we went undefeated and shut out the first three opponents. he puts you in the right place at the right time. but it also comes down to how the kids react to everything
  13. if i remember correctly hendersonville never made it to the playoffs did they now
  14. the other kid is sunshine. his real name is adam patrick he plays db on defense but i agree he does have the best arm on the team
  15. kind of hard to get a team together when you have your quarterback and head coach who calls the plays arguing to each other like i saw friday night in the stands. and halftime it seems like to me yall weren't together that it was just whatever for you guys. looked like you guys didn't care that it was already over
  16. the thing i am saying is while people say they don't have playmakers, they actually do. the problem is wether or not they want to step up and take that role or just sit back and watch everybody else. their's plenty of players that can be all-region or even all-state on that team they just need to grow up and accept the responsibility that if you are going to play for gallatin's defense then you better get the mind set that you are not going let any team score or gain a yard for that matter.
  17. i think it is gonna be a close one. this defense that coach williamson has and gallatin has had for the past few years even we were down is able to stop the wing-t offense. if the defensive ends stay at home and keep outside contain and watch the boot counter reverse which wing-t offense is known for then we will be ok. the defensive tackles have to wrong arm those pulling guards and the linebackers have to fill in those holes that are going to be there and stay home on the reverses. i say gallatin 21-mt. juliet 17
  18. i was apart of the amazing 42 senior team. and i agree it is getting old that everybody still talk about us. that season is over and you can't change last season you can only improve on this season take what you have right now and make the most of it they have playmakers but they need to step up and make plays
  19. Look i played last year and i know from experience that these players have the potential to be great players and a Great TEAM. but coach lassiter calls the same plays and doesn't change anything on it. last year for instance we ran smokestack until the fourth quarter when we down by 14. let lytle call the plays he knows what he is doing and knows situations better than lassiter.
  20. i think gallatin will improve but that have to have that want to and desire i say gallatin 24-17
  21. lebanon wins 24-10. i saw a lot of good potential in gallatin. gallatin does not need to get down on themselves. they are a good football team and i know that they will improve gotta find somebody to step up and play on the defensive line. overall you saw sparks on offense but have to make some fireworks defense needs to learn to have a brick wall mentality
  22. all i am trying to say is that it's is not all the player's fault we worked day in and day out for that team and to be blamed for that loss when we ran the game plan that was chosen for us is wrong. i mean why would you try running against a team that is blitzing nine to ten people every play when you have recievers like boo butler and zac hargett that can catch the ball
  23. i am not saying that gallatin is gonna stink i hope they win the state it will bring the gallatin powerhouse football team back where it needs to be. the only thing that i am saying what happens if gallatin goes 2-8 or 3-7. the same thing is gonna happen as it has with all the seniors before they showed no leadership they were a bunch of individuals and all that. you blame it on the players but what about the coaches. after last year everybody on here was talking about getting rid of coach lassiter but now you blame it on the 43 seniors that were there last year. look i love all the players on that team and treated them like family and was always there for them but when it gets bad you blame it on the seniors when it is not there fault.
  24. as a former member of the gallatin team i know what this year is gonna be. i praticed with the group of seniors this year. not any of yall were there to see how lazy they were when it came time to pratice. they just piddled around until pratice was over. you try to say last years seniors had no team unity then how do you expect 43 seniors to stay together since there freshman year. all those group of seniors did was encourage the underclassmen and teach them how to be better. lets see how good they will be this year when they don't have the talent that they have had since they came in to the varsity program. they are going to sturggle and everybody knows it. when you have a guy on there team having to make up 15 workouts because he can't make his 23 workouts for the summer you call team unity. when parents of seniors say their is not leadership that everybody does what they want to do you call that team unity. i love gallatin football and would never dreamed of playing any where else but i feel sorry for the coaches this year that they work hard for nothing. truth hurts hendersonville still stinks
  25. for anyone who thinks gallatin will be good next year your wrong. the upcoming seniors on that team cares nothing but themselves. they think that they are a "dynasty" when they haven't done much of anything. sure you say they have won two region titles, but when you look at those two past years you see that not one of them started but jontaye gleaves and boo butler. they have a rude awakening coming for them next year. we'll see how long this dynasty last.
