  1. Wavelax1, Do not start talking about how CBHS players held their heads high even when Scales lost his temper. CBHS has always been in MUS's lacrosse shadow and they are very jealous of that. Last night the players for the Purple Wave lost their tempers too, but it was directed towards the fans of MUS not the players. Multiple times, the brothers would look back at us fans and either give us the bird or start cussing us out. Granted we were heckling them but that is a normal occurence at any high school sporting event. Every high school athlete is told not to react to comments made from fans. Obviously CBHS disregarded this and showed their lack of class by responding to the fans. This response only fueled the MUS fans more and probably helped in the fallout of the Purple Wave. When you react to a fan's jeering your head is obviously not focused on the game. As for the refs at last night's game, it seemed like MUS was getting called for anything and everything. The TSLA needs to rethink its ref situation and not have two refs with ties to a school officiating a game against their school's rival.

    MBA at MUS

I think this will end up being one of the best games played all year across the nation. MUS is the only team in the super seven to have a record of .500 against the Big Red. Not Brentwood, not McCallie, not CBHS. MBA is a very good team and they play very hard. I agree that this game will go down to the final minutes but I have a feeling that special teams will play a big part in this one. A blocked PAT, punt, or a missed field goal will decide this game. To dingled, that is wonderful that all of MBA's seniors are coming. Im glad to see that MBA supports their team that much. However, you have no idea what you are going up against at MUS. Things have changed at that school. This is the first MUS squad in a long time that has so much support from all over the city of Memphis. The school is filled with adrenaline and excitement about this team. What I like most about this team is the leadership of their seniors. All of those guys love everyone on that team and keep the emotions high. Also, after games, the whole MUS squad runs over and thanks their fellow classmates and fans, home or away. MUS will win this game very close and will finally gain so much deserved credit around the state.

    Ryan-CBHS

In a pile, one of my teammates' hands ended up underneath this guys facemask. Not on purpose but just by accident. The tight end yelled some expletives and then proceeded to bite the player's fingers. The player came out and was bleeding. I know this is not a big injury but you just dont do crap like that. Stuff like that is what makes Father Ryan the whipping boy of D2.
  4. Why is MBA still ranked number 3 ahead of MUS after losing to the Owls? That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Someone please tell me how in the heck that can happen

    Ryan-CBHS

Ok, Father Ryan is really starting to get on my nerves. I will give them that they play hard despite there 5-24 record over the past 4 years, but these guys go from playing hard to just playing dirty. I have been in games against the Irish in which they were losing by 30 and yet were punching throats and gouging eyes in the piles. I know that yall get frustrated but playing like that just makes teams lose respect for you and just want to get out there and beat the heck out of you so that you will just stop acting so tough and trying to be scary. Your tight end this year (a captain) just whines the whole game about how unfair it is when he is the one throwin low blows and biting ( yes biting) people. I am glad to see FRHS beat the Brothers and BGA but grow up guys.
  6. no they just arent top ten in the state. They are definitely top 15
  7. I'm gonna give this a shot. Comments requested 1. MBA 2. Riverdale 3. DB 4. Maryville 5. MUS 6. Melrose 7. Soddy Daisy 8. McCallie 9. Ooltewah 10. Oak Ridge I know putting MBA at number 1 is going to upset some folks but they lost to a very talented Trinity team. Riverdale may be killing everyone they play but until they actually play someone from the Shelby-Metro area or a skilled ball club i will not be a believer.
  8. Rumors around Memphis is that Michael Oher of Briarcrest has dropped UT out of his top two and is know focusing on either Ole Miss or NC State. JD Lawhorn was the first commit in the Memphis area and he swung Justin Sparks to commit. Also, I have heard that Malcolm Rawls cares more about his education then football so he is looking at ivy league schools.
  9. Melrose, Maryville, and Riverdale are all good teams. But, they all can be beaten. Melrose has played one tough team this whole year. That was Briarcrest in the first game of the season. I dont care what the strength of schedule says Melrose plays no one. I would no living in the Memphis area. East was overrated. Woodale was overrated. Whitehaven is getting better and Germantown was overrated. Melrose is yet to play someone decent. Marville and Riverdale do not play anyone good from this area. Why? Cuz they are scared. They parade around Middle and East Tennessee like they own it but never actually play any contenders from D2 or any mediocre teams from Memphis. I would really like to see Maryville or Riverdale play someone like MUS, CBHS, MBA, White Station, Brentwood Academy, or McCallie and just laugh when they get run over.
  10. I played Friday Night and while we were warming up one of the refs came up to my buddy and I and told us to pull the wristbands down to our wrists. However, when we traveled to Nashville and Chattanooga the refs said nothing so it might be just a Shelby Metro thing. Regardless, I think it is stupid to make players pull the bands down. All we are doing is emulating what we see on tv saturdays and sundays. Refs, relax and let us have fun.
  11. I agree Coach. It is about time somebody from the Shelby-Metro area gets recognized. Vaughn is a very dangerous back. Granted, he hasnt put up very impressive numbers, he still is dangerous. East is known as a running team. When teams play them they stop the run. This Guy and Weathers would not have very impressive numbers at all if they actually played some teams with good defenses like an MUS or MBA or White Station or Riverdale. These kids play in the junior leagues.
