  1. I don't have a clue about who this guy is but for all you people talking about him, where did you play after school? You talk like Vany is bethune-Cookman or something. D1 is still D1, whether it's Vandy or Southern Cal. Plus I can guarentee you that a degree from Vandy has a little more pull than one from UT.
  2. They only have 3 football coaches so it shouldn't be hard to figure out.

Gene Davis from Athens? If so then they are getting a good "old School" coach. He was my o line coach @ mcminn years ago and he is good. Good luck to the tigers!
  4. I'm by no means an Ooltewah fan, but what Coach Gatewood did there is a borderline miracle. To take a team that was ALWAYS earmarked as a win and take them to the semi's a few years ago is amazing. Good luck to coach Monroe, he has the tallent to win it all this fall.
  5. This will never happen, go support the lookouts!
  6. Actually he was born in Turtletown in Polk County then moved to McMinn County when he was young.
  7. Hey Cephus! How are things in GA? Things are good here in TN. The Cherokee's could possibly go 0-10 this year. They had to drop central and crossville off the schedule and picked up us down @ Chatt. Central and I think Rhea County. The region will probably be like it was last year. Heritage will be improved and I don't know about John Allen down at Bradley Central. I heard from a former coach @ Walker Valley that John Allen is trying to recruit a couple of kids from WV. You coming to the reunion this summer?

    Bradley Central

Never worked miracles? I don't know what McMinn teams you watched but the ones I seen were all miracles. In 91 took a less than good team to Nashville Strattford (#2 in the state at the time) and upset them 7-6. Also took a team in 99 that was picked to finish 5th in its region and made them runner ups. The talent pool @ McMinn has never been good with the exception of Shazzon Bradley yet he always had good teams. If you guage good coaches by number of state championships then you eliminate nearly 80 % of the coaches in TN. He never had a losing season while @ McMinn and made the playoffs for 10 straight years. Do you a little search and tell me how many coaches can say that.

    Bradley Central

The answer to this question is a resounding NO! I was told by the bald man himself. He is having too much fun in GA to go to Bradley.
  10. The Purple Puds given up?, Can the puds win out there season.... I thought this was the topic of this thread, not Brent Hayes?
  11. I was on the endzone end for most of the game ( I left midway through the 3RD quarter) and I wasn't very impressed with Central. It looked to me like they quit. During the PAT's on my end half of them wouldn't even line up. Helton looked pretty bush league also, but I guess you will when you don't have time to throw the ball. Congrats to the rebs for a good game.
  12. Some school systems do not allow extracuricular activities if the kids are out of school that day.

    Wing T ?

But I would put that cleveland team up against any in the state. They had more talent on the bench than most had starting.
  14. A "true fan" would support his/her team no matter what happens. Yes McMinn has high standards and tradition, but that tradition now resides in Rome, Georgia. Text book example is The University of Alabama. They have "tradition" but where has it been in the last 10 years? I hope that McMinn can win out and salvage their season, but don't underestimate WB, all their losses have come to teams ranked in the top 10 in their classifications.
