  1. If a section only has 7 or 9 teams in it and you make three divisions, how are you going to have three seperate tournaments with two teams in it? Also some middle schools have 5 thru 8th grades, some 6th thru 8th grades and some only 7 and 8th grades. You must count only 8th grade enrollment because usually your starters are 8th graders anyway. Our coaches had no problem voting on the rules for our conference. The most votes get their way. If a team does not like the split or the rules they do not have to participate. High school is the same way, AA in some sports include schools from 500 students up to 990, is that fair? You have to remember is also has to do with the distance each school is away from other schools. If you are a small school there may be 20 large school opponents within 10 miles, on the other hand you may have to drive 50 miles to find other small schools. I guess what I am trying to say is there are alot of factors to consider other than what we consider fair or not fair.
  2. You are allowed to break up your division into large and small. The coaches decide who is large or small, TSMAA does not mind, we did about 5 years ago and it works great.
  3. these private tournaments have as many divisions as possible to get more teams to attens and make more money. TMSAA only has 2 divisions because they do not sponser any kind of post season tournament. so to them more divisions are not necessary.
  4. I am sorry about the situation at your school, it seems to be the same problem at our school. We have an administration that is content just to have a team, not a competitive team that the community can be proud of!!!
  5. Indian, stop making excuses and trying to justify the BARKERS!!! that is her style and her husbands style in middle school, to beat you as bad as they can at all cost!!! Terrible way to live your life...You will never raise yourself up by beating everyone else down...
  6. yes, the conference tournament starts this week and concludes on Friday.
  7. They had the game well in control and played a great game, but I thought the coach was rubbing Bledsoe's nose in it by leaving your starters in the game till the end still full court pressing with a 30 point lead!!!!!!!!!! Bledsoe even conceded defeat, put their subs in with a minute to go, and sequatchie left their starters in and still full court pressing the younger kids!!!
  8. right now it would have to be 1. bledsoe 2.sequatchie 3.whitwell 4.jasper
  9. You guys are too confident, whitwell is leading at the half 13-12!!!
  10. You have to remember that the Dunlap Tribune is OWNED and OPERATED by the same person who runs the Bledsonian Banner. Sports has NEVER been a priority in either paper. The papers do not send out reporters to cover games, the coaches have to compile the stats and have them submitted if they want it in the paper. Since Indian left the paper in Dunlap last year there has been no sports coverage and that is the way the pikeville owners want it. I have also seen a lack of articles in the pikeville paper regarding middle school sports when they are in the middle of a losing streak.
  11. some teams have already started practice, i mean conditioning, right???????????
  12. Good for you, and i hope other coaches and players and parents will see that being (naked) is not required to play sports!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Parents and players do not have to wear practically nothing to play and should let their voices be heard.
  13. sequatchie played spring city , not rhea central, SORRY!!!!!!!
  14. Rhea Central 8 ---- Sequatchie 6 Bledsoe and Grundy never played
  15. that is easy, treat others the way you would want to be treated under the same circumstances.
  16. if he was worried about a come back from bledsoe why would he have the second team on the field???
  17. Well, i guess you would have to know the situation, the school, the coach, and the rivalry involved. He (RC) is the offensive coordinator not the coach, is also the same one who was thrown out of the basketball conference tournament for walking on the court after the refs, he is also the one who called for a long pass in the late minutes of the fourth quarter against sequatchie 2 weeks ago when he was winning by over 30 points. Bledsoe coach had every right to be upset. Why even call to throw the ball ,even if it was 3rd and goal on the opponents 30 yard line?
  18. well i take my hat off to your coach, good sportsmanship.
  19. Rhea Central and Bledsoe were scoreless at halftime 0-0. Rhea Central threw a 30 yard hail mary with less than 30 seconds in the game for the last 8 points, real classless!!!
  20. I agree and i would also add that there is possibly some girls that would like to play, but do not because they think the spandex makes them look too "big". They would be embarrassed being in front of people wearing that kind of attire. AND GIRLS SHOULD BE!!!
  21. Dayton City 14 Spring City 12 Rhea Central 26 Bledsoe 6
  22. Amen, you are right. Shorts today are way too short . Just sit back and listen to the comments that the boys are making and you would yank your daughter off the floor!!! A basketball players shorts may come down once every 10 years. But in every volleyball game you see things that nobody should see on 13-18 year old girls.
  23. What do you mean "your guys", I did not say which county i am from!!! But I will say, after dunlap had 4 or 5 personal foul penalties, then bledsoe's running back did APPEAR to have been hit while stood up , i can see why they ( bledsoe ) would think that. Otherwise the rest of the talk has gone too far on both sides.
