it wasnt 10 years ago when rankin left...he left after all those guys sophmore years. and according to him, if mauricio had had his way he wouldda been at riverdale btw, where are the riverdale "dorms" at? all our opponents tend to "know" but i have yet to see them or know where they are located.

let me make this point...oakland went to state in basketball in 2007. of 5 starters (compared to a possible number of 22 starters on a football team) oakland had, 2 of them were transfers...Deandre Maupins formerly of Riverdale and Jaffarious Wade formerly of Blackman. so you can look at that as about 40% of their production since those guys were on the floor most of the time. not to mention Chaisson Allen was zoned for Siegel but i left him out of those figures above so it wouldnt get really embarassing. 40% of 22 is 9 guys. when has Riverdale ever had 9 transfers on the WHOLE team? the only transfer we had this year make a significant impact was David Spurlock, who spent a total of 1 semester at Siegel his freshman year and sat out his sophmore year being ineligible. oh btw, his uncle is an assistant principal at Riverdale, so do you think it was Rankin's illegal recruiting tactics that got him over here?

2p, when locke came to Riverdale blackman was no longer his main residence...maybe he stayed there every other weekend, but thats not the point. not to mention the ties he already had, who would need to recruit him? with his brother being the best to ever come through Riverdale (arguably) and as bad off as blackman was (he avoided an 0-fer season and went 13-1 to the state semifinals at riverdale). he had been coming to a majority of riverdale's basketball games both years he was at blackman aswell see the success is gonna recruit for itself. and PLEASE, know your facts well before you speak...Gaston aswell as his sister who is one year older and his brother Deandre who just now graduated (2 years younger) all went to Riverdale from 2001-2008. if you are familiar with the Cason Lane area, they live on Cason Trail, BETWEEN Cason Lane and River Rock. usually its not til you get all the way on the other side of Saint Andrews that it is considered "blackmans zone." but there is also another older Miller brother that went to Riverdale back in the mid 90s. btw, yall can have precious, i dont think he has remotely lived up to the hype people gave him, maybe it was just his name rather than his talent on the field, this is a guy who people were mentioning as a possible mr. football a few years ago. maybe the new staff can work a miracle with him tho

i understand you wanting to stay on topic but i cant help feeling somewhat offended at you saying that...had someone went of topic about anything else i dont think you wouldda said nothin but yeah its just a matter of time before yall hop on the macwagon. yall dont even know what yall got over there yet. and i aint talkin just to yap yall probably have one of if not the best coaching staff in the state. your players are sold on them i cant believe yall are still resistant to what is a positive change. i know if i was a father of a kid going to high school in the fall and playing football i would send them to oakland

i have heard nothing but good things about coach maxwell from the players. they should be very good this fall but will be very young, i think they will peak in 09-10 rather than this year...but it sounds like they have a great one to lead them there

watching the intersquad scrimmage for the warriors today i saw some questions answered. it looks like these guys have good size and intensity. hard hits, long runs i saw some very good plays made by the kids but its not the X's and O's you are worried about as much in the spring as much as the actual ability to make plays. im not sure how they split the teams up either, but cant wait to see them actually play the opposition (which unfortunately may have to wait til this fall for me) when they have 11 on the field instead of 22. oh yeah, and did i mention that cody west is going to be a HECK of a quarterback? i do think that anyone who has predicted them missing out on the playoffs is sadly mistaken. a couple guys from blackmans team last year came to the same conclusion so i dont think its just me being biased. the backs are going to have to hold on to the ball a lot better tho but plenty of time to work on that

your official return? wow, didnt think i would see the day...so you backing smyrna now with the williams? how about their cheerleading program, are they up to par with your standards?

what is franklin picked to do in their region this year? how many they got returning? i think riverdale could be a late round playoff team...potential is there, hopefully the scrimmage will give us an idea of what they will do with it. although i wont be able to attend unfortunately

my first thought. blackman alumni (or class of 2008 rather) told me last night that blackman was pretty sloppy at times but gallatin wasnt much of a match. they thought blackman is no where where it needs to be yet but thats understandable with their current lack of coaches

Riverdale will make the playoffs. Dont mean to bring back up the history, as mentioned its a new year, but I would think Riverdale is the only team in 5A to make the playoffs every year that 5A has been in existance, and that streak extends further back a number of years when they were playing AAA ball. I certainly think we will have every position filled with talent, my only concern is some guys having to play both ways, linemen in particular. I can't wait to see Cody West in action at quarterback, he's a heck of an athlete...hopefully the scrimmage will get rescheduled though, because graduating is my first priority on the 16th /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />

went to the baseball/softball fields for games tonight aswell and was hearing very positive things about the first day of practice...im excited to check them out

i believe it...that practice facility is such an assett aswell. i am very anxious to see what becomes of oakland this year. players have told me it has become a stronger team environment other news, wyant is new DC at siegel. i assume he decided to make his way out of smyrna after the new HC was announced. wonder if he inquired at oakland, it would make sense

he knows the game well enough to coach most anything i believe. glad he left smyrna, heard he was kind of comfortable there but i just couldnt get down with him in yellar and purple. siegel is more acceptable /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":lol:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> (still would rather have him at riverdale than anywhere)

Oakland players have told me there has been a crazy change in enthusiam since mcdaniel has become coach. he talked about the team support for each other in the recent lift a thon and agility drills. i think mcdaniel and staff will prove themselves quickly when the season starts, and take oakland to a higher level. rumor is that collins has been helping out during agilities aswell, maybe he will try to return to coaching?

she could be. i believe she started teaching at blackman middle in january and was on the girls bball staff there. i would love to see her back with her alma mater

i believe i have heard lebanon was getting an entirely new school building and the current LHS will be converted to a middle school. i assume a new stadium would come with that

i will have a dilema this game as will many fans...im not opposed to oakland winning, i would be happy for them if they do, but with riverdales region winning streak on the line theres no way i could root against the warriors. also dont forget that in addition to oakland having ex-riverdale coaches, 2 of them are actually riverdale alumni (coach gardner and coach white)
