Where is the regional tournament to be played this year?

I agree that Science Hill has a really good JV team, I also realize that all their sophomores don't play since most play varsity too. However the score was 61-43 and unless there is some type of new algebra that I don't know of that is not 25. Yeah it was bad and could have maybe been worse but thats not the point here. He is not making me look like an idiot because he does not speak for me. I know the better team last Saturday night won that game and I might add very convincing. Yes Greeneville is better than they played and Science Hill had a really good night (compared to what I saw at the Arby's Classic), however on Saturday the Toppers were far better than Greeneville.

Complete Domination by Science Hill! Omar shut down Wiggins and made him really look bad. The Devils were outhustled and outplayed in every phase of the game Saturday night. Congrats to the Toppers for being ready and playing one heck of a game. The Devils looked like a deer in the headlights from start to finish. Wiggins will bounce back he is a really good player, Coach Duncan will not let this get the Devils down and it might have been not a really bad thing for them to lose but it was a horrible loss. Omar hits a three to start the game and looks over at the bench and starts screaming, well I know he has hit a three before so he needs to act like it. Great player no doubt but was that necessary? If he wanted to scream it would have been better for him to start yelling over at his crowd to get them pumped up even more. I can honestly say if Wiggins had hit the first three of the game there is no way he would have ever screamed over at the bench. Sure Omar was fired up and he had them ready to go but I still see no need to act that way. At least he did shake hands after the game.....but they did win. I am not trying to knock Omar I have always thought he was very good but I would hope that if and when he plays at Georgetown he would represent East Tennessee with class.

Maybe the point about 'the freshman' is that they are young and have three years left in high school to improve and help make the team better. I dont think those that are using the term are trying to make anyone feel bad about being older and being outplayed by younger girls. I know if I was a Cocke County fan I would be looking forward to the next few years with the girls team.

She has taken some (bad press) in here lately but I think last night she may have been the turning point in the game. Greeneville was struggling through the first quarter and a half and Lamons hits a three and a couple of twos in a short span and that seemed to loosen up the defense a little and let the big girls go to work inside. Cocke County played a very good first half and it did seem like the Depew girl getting injured hurt them quite a bit. Their two freshman are very talented. Hats off to Morgan Lamons for a very nice game last night.

I think Paige Ramsey might be a good option, she has a lot of learning and growing to do but she does have pretty good handles. The decision making process is what will be the toughest part for her I think. I think McIntyre might be a good option too but I would really personally like to she her stay at the shooting guard position. Dickson needs to show some improvement from year to year and really I dont think she has shown a whole lot from last year to this. Not saying she isn't pretty good but I would like to think there would be a more substantial gain. Getting tough is a priority for her because she might get bumped around a lot more without Ashley in there to bump people around for Greeneville. I think the Kelley girl will be pretty good with some more experience as well. She plays post on JV but I think she will have to move to a wing at the varsity level to be really effective. Thinks look pretty good even again next year if the girls stay with it and keep on working!

The way I look at this board it is a place to voice your opinions. Facts are stated as well and what one believes may not be what another believes. I think the girls coaches have done a good job with the girls. I do disagree about the coaching of the young girls the other night, I even made the statement during the game that they should not just be sitting there watching they should be coaching them and giving them help because that was a great time for the younger girls to learn more. Now that being said, that is just my opinion and I feel that if you disagree then that is okay. Heck if we all agreed on everything life would be great huh? Just because one person states how he/she feels everyone needs not attack that, give your opinion and then move on. I do not agree with attacking a player personally on the boards, I mean if I say that Dickson had a bad game against Webb because she was intimidated I don't feel that is attacking her. If I said that Dickson is horrible and should never be on the floor she is just the coaches pet that would be a different situation. I agree with Orange/Tradition about a team that presses them would give them trouble, I know they have seen some pressure but nothing really in your face yet. The South Greene teams of Larry Neil would give these girls trouble simply because of the pressing they did. I wish the girls nothing but the best, they have some talent and they work hard. Sorry for the long post but you know if you cant give your opinion then why be on here?

Knoxville News Sentinel reported a few weeks ago that one of her parents wants her to go to Tennessee and the other wants her to go to LSU. I am not sure how much interest there is but judging from her style of play she could be an asset at either place.

[ As for the coaches, Greeneville has 2 of the best assistants around and I think Coach Crumbley is better than the Lady Devil faithful give her credit for. She took them further in her first year than Blair did in 30. In all fairness to Blair, I don't think he had the talent that Coach Crumbley had or had the groundwork laid for him like Coach Burkey had established either. I am not trying to knock anyone that is just an assessment in my opinion.

Why doesn't someone start a thread about the worst student section...........Greeneville is 21-1 and ranked #1 in the state at the present time and their students must go to the games to socialize with each other instead of getting into the games. I don't really understand it but I was told that they would have a good student section in a big game. They played Morristown West who is a big rivalry game and it was no better than usual. On the other hand Morristown West and Cherokee have really good and rowdy student sections when we visit their place.

I believe it was 5 points 39-34. I agree that Lamons and Carter hit big big foul shots to hold on to the win in this game. I also think that Lamons Defense is pretty good. I disagree that orange is tradition does not know what they are talking about because they are really pretty smart when it comes to this game. However, I disagree with them bad mouthing (on here) a high school athlete who goes to practice every day and works as hard as they do. If it were them getting bashed and they read it they would not like it very much. Anyway all I know is that the Lady Devils were very impressive the other night against Webb and they really played well and pulled out a big win. Congrats to the Lady Devils, don't let up!

I don't know it for sure but I think for one reason that Collins is not in the lineup is that she makes some silly fouls and they don't want her to make them early. I agree with you that would be IMO a better lineup to use. I think they are going to have to get more scoring threats than Deans & Dickson to make a run in the tourneys this season.

I could not figure out the Wattad deal at the Arby's classic. He is hard to stop and is a very very good player. I could not figure out why he was coming out of the game so much. Maybe the coach does not want him to get bigger than the team but my opinion is that you ride that horse. Sure the players around him have got to play just like Greeneville with Wiggins and when the big guys have an off night someone has to step up but heck if you have got a player of that caliber use them. He snowman, you guys have been a little flat lately have you had somone injured or just not playing really well since the break??? Plenty of time to get it back together before it really is important but I didn't know what was up.

In my opinion, which means little but here it is anyway. I really don't think that Greeneville is the best team in the state in AAA basketball. Heck I don't even know for sure if they are the best in East Tennessee and I am sure that Coach Bill Duncan would not want the #1 ranking if you asked him. That just makes for a big fat bulls eye on you. But I do know that they are 19-1 right now and lost to the team that won the Arby's classic. Do I think there were some better teams there??? Yeah I thought that Antioch would wear Krop out and I thought Liberty Tech and the team from Gainsville were awful good. I personally did not give Greeneville much chance against the Younce team from Gainsville but they beat them. When these guys are on they are pretty good, but when they are not they can be just average. When Wiggins is playing good it seems the rest of the bunch is playing good. But a poll is just a poll and means absolutely nothing except they have that honor of being #1 for at least one week.

Yeah and Michael Jordan made the Bulls Champions so what is your point?? I have watched them play a lot and I have yet to see Wiggins throw the ball in to Wiggins and Wiggins dribbles down court and throws a lob pass to Wiggins for the slam! The other boys on the court can play a little bit.

Well as I have always said Respect breeds Respect! I am not talking about this coach getting upset at players, that is a given and I have no problem with that because at times they need focus and direction, however I don't think he understands what he might be doing to some of the boys with his humiliation tactics or making them feel as though they can not talk to him. Coaches have their own personal lives but some of these kids might only have their coach as a personal advisor or someone they can confide in. I might add to this that the coach I am refering to is not a basketball coach but I thought I would get some views on the situation anyway.

What are the feeling about a coach who makes his players feel stupid? Every time a question is asked he has a smart answer and never ever is kind, compassionate, or even shows a hint of being concerned with the question. He has his favorites and they are not treated this way but if you are not on that list of two or three look out. I am not a parent yelling sour grapes I just wanted your thoughts on this???

Hey Snow, I appreciate you posting on here and giving your opinions. Sometimes it is good to get a players opinion on what happened, what might have happened, and what he thought should have happened. You do a good job of telling it pretty much like it is and not yelling sour grapes. Whether you put it in first, second, third, or fourth person, thanks for the input.

You should get a better source for you information because I was at the game and Enumclaw had A LOT of wide open shots and missed them every time. This one kid had to be 0-10 from his little spot in the corner behind the ark. I beleve you are speaking of # 10 C.J. Fitzpatrick he was 2-9 , 1-7 from the three point line according to the stats on the Arbys classic website.

Wow Cap, why the bad attitude towards Greeneville? You have seen them play what one game this season and I agreed with you that Wiggins carried them last night. Yeah your go to player is supposed to carry a team. I even was bragging on Wattad. Yeah I know that most of the players for Science Hill are sophomores, I was there last year when the freshman team had a 30 point lead and still full court pressing like it was a 3 point game. That is their style of play and they are good at it. Wattad 8-16 from the floor - 2-2 from the line - 2-4 from the 3 point line total of 20 points. Wiggins 8-14 from the floor 9-14 from the line & 3-7 from the 3 point line total of 28 points. Why not give both of them their props and and say they are pretty good, their respective teams are better with them than without them. As for next year, well heck the 1972 Dolphins are still the only undefeated pro football team and I think they still will be after next season.

What happened in the game against Maryville at the Ladies Classic? I was listening to the game while driving and they were up at halftime, then I went out of radio range and heard that they got beat later on in the evening. I was just wondering what happened, if Maryville made some good adjustments or they just started shooting better or what? I also heard Brittany Kinser had injured her ankle and is very limited, so how bad is that and when did she hurt it? Thanks for any input.

Caps you are correct about last night, the team really did not show up. Wiggins had to carry them which he did. There have been games this year where Wiggins was off and the rest of the team had to carry them. No one shot well last night (except Wiggins), Lance Bailey came off the bench and hustled and made some nice plays. Gash had a very bad night (considering the way he usually plays). Wiggins dunk was pretty awesome. If Greeneville wins tonight I personally dont think they have enough guns to beat Liberty Tech, they were pretty impressive. But as you know that is why they play the game, never know what might happen. As for the Hill, Wattad has improved his game since I last saw him. He is very solid, but I have a question. Why except for an occasional break is he ever out of the game??? Sure after the game was out of question last night I can see that but otherwise I dont really understand, is he hurting or coming off an injury or something of that nature? As it has been stated on Coach T somewhere about Greeneville this season, if they are shooting well as a team they will be hard to beat but if they are struggling with their shooting they will be hard pressed to beat a lot of teams they play.
