  1. very well point tmoney but it just makes me upset knowing this is coming from someone within our own community and has or had some ties with the athletic programs at marion co. it just irritates me to know that they can get on here and hide behind a name and run down their programs. i agree this is suppose to uplift players and update current situations and games. very good post though. by the way, how was knoxville?
  2. What kind of freak are you? i don't have a goat. I really wish you would man/woman up and tell me who you are. I'm not that hard to find or get ahold of.
  3. Jeeze, you again? You know you are full of class let me tell ya. You really support your alma mater very well and to get on here behind a name and not say this stuff at meetings, tell the coach how you feel to his face/over the phone/email anything like that, or basically run down your whole school, the school system and the boys that work so hard (something you or your son couldn't do, depending on who you are) is just gutless and classless. Everyone pay attention, gobblersknob is a true, bonified example of maturity.
  4. Just a guess but i think he was trying to give y'all credit here. As far as wangtang, don't make excuses for travis and the pek, if they are goin to step on the field/court or anything else there are no excuses, if it's that bad don't show up ready to play. Congrats to marion for "upsetting" their way to the region (even though i think it's the way it should be) and congrats to hixson on claiming the 6AA title, you obviously were the better team last night. Now represent district 6 well and good luck to both.
  5. Yeah really, why would that be such an upset? They have very good talent and a solid coaching staff. There's no sense in them not getting considered as a favorite to win this district.
  6. Marion is a lot deeper in pitching than people think. They seemed to be really focused at the right time. Hixson is a good ball club and seems to be one of those teams marion has a problem gettin over the hump against. Good luck to 6AA teams and congrats to grundy on a good season and best of luck to their talented senior class in their future.
  7. I was told 10-1 in Marion's favor. could be wrong.
  8. My point.... when did that happen? i've never known of bledsoe winning more than 5 games a season.
  9. Bledsoe hasn't had a good team in about 3 or 4 years? are you serious? when have they ever had a good team. it all starts with the administration not caring and not wanting to work to be good so there for it trickles down to the coaches then the players.
  10. Chris Kopek and he's a junior, their junior class is loaded.
  11. Dustin did pitch and threw it well, but in all reality Marion hit him hard. Marion just flat out gave that game to Grundy. Errors, mental lapses and untimely hitting was Marion's downfall tonight. Travis threw a pretty decent game but didn't get a lot of help when he made good pitches. But both of these clubs are good and wish them the best of luck during the season and i'm looking forward to seeing them throughout the season. Good luck Warriors and Jackets.
  12. Derek Ladd, Stewart Sowder, Chris Kopek, Ronnie Smith, Johnathan Willis, Zeke Guyear will all see mound time for Marion this year. Stewart is a smart pitcher with a good curve, D ladd is a smart lefty, Kopek is tough with his unusual approach and Zeke should see a lot of mound time as a freshman, the kid is smart and has great potential to get a lot of ground ball outs, only if he is given the chance.
  13. I agree, Marion's junior class is stout. Chris Kopek is a very versatile player and strong at the plate with a great stroke, will make a good college player. Zach Guyear is probably the top hitter in the district along side Josh Sitz of Grundy Co., not to mention a great glove in center, you will definately see him at the next level. Derek Ladd has one great plate presence, a very smart hitter and player, taught by a great coach and man, Coach Ted Ladd, if someone takes a chance on his size, he will contribute in the college ranks. Ronnie Smith is a very solid first baseman with a big stick at the dish. Stew Sowder, early ankle injury has sidelined him to limited action, is a good, smart pitcher and has a pretty good bat. Jake Smith is a very good fielder, once the season gets goin you will hear his name a lot more. I know i'm leaving off one and i apologize but these group of guys is the best group of players to come through since the 1998-1999 season. Look for the to do big things under the radar. Steven Roberts (also the basketball coach) is the coach of this team and doing a good job with the guys. Good luck Warriors.
  14. Setbacks? the only setbacks i hear are from jealousy. Why would a senior point guard not want to give one of, if not the best player in the valley the ball? Sounds like the coach needs to jerk a knot in somebody's hine parts. Let your ego and pride take a backseat and do what's best for the team and what will get you W's. If South Pitt can pull it together, they can make it deep in region, maybe out of region. Good luck either way, just keep the idiots in red in whitwell and no where near the region.
  15. You are a horrible shooter, with an extremely ugly shot.
  16. South Pittsburg by at least 15 as many as 25. Antonio Robinson will have a monster game. It was a close game before because he only finished with 8 pts, guarenteed not to happen again. I hope SP drills them.
  17. The only one that can say anything about last night was Antonio. The kid absolutely dominated the game. If he had any help at all it would've gotten ugly. His line looked something like 42 pts, 26 boards, around 7 blocks. The guy can hoop. Great win for Marion, and a good job on shutting everyone else down.
  18. Antonio Robinson and Martell Powell are the only two that's popped up that i've seen play. Antonio is a stud. he put up 42 on friday against their out of conference rival along with about 24-27 boards. got a great shot, good post moves, quick and can play some good d, not to mention he's automatic from the line. Martell has all the ability in the world, he just seems lazy and has a little bit of a hot head from what i can tell and also from what i hear around the area. both would have to step outside at the next level unless they continue to grow. antonio looks like he could be about 6'9 before it's all said and done, martell is 6'11 with the fro, could be about 6'7 before he graduates. good ball players, wish all of them the best.
  19. What are you talking about South Pitt is known for their academics? Please tell me you are being sarcastic. They are ranked low in the states academic rankings. South Pitt is a solid team but they get more credit than they deserve. They can not and will not make it out of the region, their district is weak. Their players (mainly antonio) are products of padded stats.
  20. Tracy routed them in the summer. I have been told that Tracy tried to get a game with them for the season but Seq. wouldn't schedule them or had a conflict of scheduling, something ludacris like that. These young men are the real deal, very exciting.
  21. Van Buren went 3-0, Marion 2-1, Huntland 1-2 and Sale Creek 0-3. Sorry these teams don't excite you but there were some good games. To the kids that play the game though, it's exciting to them, that's what it's all about anyway. Rigsby from Van Buren is a very good ball player, he average 25 ppg and i bet around 5 apg. Along with their post #10 (who's name escapes me right now) they are a good ball team. Marion played a little better ball at times. Their inside game needs work and some help. Highlight of their tourny would probably be Blake Gibson scoring a career high 38 in the game versus Van Buren. They just need to learn to win. Huntland surprised me by not playing better, you look at their team you would think they were the best team there. They have shooters, speed, height and athleticism but they just didn't show up. They have a good ball team and should stay focus and should have a good year. Sale Creek played with Huntland pretty much the whole game. That was about the highlight of their tourny. Where would this team be without Zac Parker? the gutter would be my guess. Good ball player, but seems to have a bit of an attitude problem. All and all a good tourny, the guys and girls played hard and got to see some good basketball, regardless of what the city schools think. I agree with luvbball, go play some teams from memphis and see if they think you should hold a basketball or not.
  22. Don't forget about the technical fouls. Sequatchie had 9 straight points off free throws without running an offensive play.
  23. yeah, i hope your break is over soon.....
